Edukace a etnická identita romských dětí v polské a české škole

2016 - polský The discrimination against the Romani people has been ongoing for many years. It has been largely influenced by both the cultural difference and the separation of the Roma community. This has caused problems with the participation of this ethnic group in education. As for the education policies which the post-communist states have adopted with regard to the Roma minority, they have changed significantly, largely due to the political transformation, the integration with the European Union and globalisation. Those states have abandoned the idea of assimilating this ethnic group so that the Roma people can preserve their identity, culture and language. As a result of this the Romani have ceased to be the object of the state's policy and have become the subject of it. This paper gives a general presentation of the education of the Roma people as exemplified by the situation of it in Poland and the Czech Republic, in the context of the ongoing changes which are shaping contemporary education systems. It discusses the characteristics of the Romani ethnic group and its situation as well as the conditions of the Romani's participation in the culture and education of a majority state. The time frame adopted in this paper encompasses the period between 1945 and 2014, while also referring in the introduction... Wieloletnia dyskryminacja Romów, na którą duży wpływ miała zarówno odmienność kulturowa, jak i separacja tej społeczności, spowodowała problemy w uczestnictwie tej grupy etnicznej w edukacji. Natomiast polityka edukacyjna państw postkomunistycznych wobec mniejszości romskiej uległa dość istotnym przeobrażeniom, a duży wpływ na to miała transformacja ustrojowa oraz integracja europejska i globalizacja. Zrezygnowano w tych państwach z asymilacji tej grupy etnicznej Romów, na rzecz zachowania przez nią nich tożsamości, kultury i języka, w wyniku czego z przedmiotu Romowie, stali się podmiotem polityki państwa. . W pracy omówiono ogólnie sytuację edukacji romskiej na przykładzie Polski i Czech, w kontekście zachodzących zmian, determinujących współczesne systemy oświatowe. Scharakteryzowano romską grupę etniczną oraz sytuację, w jakiej się znajduje ta społeczność. Odniesiono się również do warunków uczestnictwa Romów w kulturze i edukacji państwa większościowego. Przyjęta cezura czasowa obejmuje, z wyjątkiem konieczności odwołania się we wprowadzeniu do historycznych uwarunkowań obecnej rzeczywistości społecznej, okres od 1945 do 2014 r.
