Chlíbec, Jan
2020 - Czech
The text is devoted to a production of sepulchral monuments in Bohemia in the period 1420 – 1471. Zrození lidu v české kultuře 19. století. Sborník příspěvků z 39. ročníku mezioborového sympozia k problematice 19. století
Machalíková, Pavla; Petrasová, Taťána; Winter, Tomáš
2020 - Czech
The theme of the nascent country folk in the Czech culture of the 19-th century does not concert only the past but has strong resonances also in the present. Since the 19-th century there has been arising a rather stereotype concept about the character, protagonists, and importance of the phenomane of folk culture. On the other hand, artistic reflection of traditional folk culture testifies to the variety of inspirations offered by this environment. The essays collected in the book grasp the phenomena from interdisciplinary points of view. Keywords: country folk; rural themes; folk art and culture Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Divoký Východ aneb Na zbojnickou notu v českých muzikálech
Opekar, Aleš
2020 - Czech
Autor si všímá nebývalého nárůstu různých zpracování staré zbojnické tematiky v československém divadelním a filmovém prostoru 70. let 20. století, tedy v době vlády autoritářského komunistického režimu. V centru jeho pozornosti jsou česká nastudování polského muzikálu Na szkle malowane a dále různé podoby českých muzikálů, jejichž děj zpracovává osudy skutečných zbojníků, historických postav známých mimo jiné z folkloru (Juraj Jánošík, Ondráš z Janova, Nikola Šuhaj). Autor studuje dobové recenze, způsob, jakým se autoři i recenzenti vyrovnávali s kategorií „muzikál“ a zkoumá proměnlivé formy, jakými zpracovávaná látka přicházela k publiku (gramofonová deska – komorní muzikál – středně velký muzikál s předtočenou živou hudbou, filmový muzikál, multimediální představení). Autor dospívá k závěru, že nadprodukce zbojnické tematiky v českých muzikálech v 70. letech 20. století byla mimo jiné důsledkem sílícího omezování projevů společenské kritiky a stala se tak náhradní možností poukázat alespoň nepřímo na téma revolty proti vládnoucím vrstvám potlačujícím svobodu. The author comments on the unusual growth of various renditions of old outlaw themes in the Czechoslovak theatre and film environment of the 1970s, in the period of the reign of the authoritarian communist regime. The author focuses on the Czech interpretation of the Polish musical Na szkle malowane (Painted on Glass), and further on various versions of Czech musicals, whose storylines work with the fates of real outlaws, that is, historical characters known in folklore (e.g. Juraj Jánošík, Ondráš of Janov, and Nikola Šuhaj). The text looks at period reviews and the ways that composers and reviewers deal with the genre of the musical. Consequently, the author explores the changeable forms through which the processed material reaches audiences: from gramophone records, chamber musical, medium-sized musical with pre-recorded live music, musical film, to multimedia performance. In conclusion, the claim is made that an over-production of outlaw topics in Czech musicals of the 1970s was a consequence of the increased restrictions of the manifestations of social criticism, among other reasons. It has become an alternative possibility to show at least indirectly the topic of the revolt against the leading strata that oppressed freedom. Keywords: Czech musical; music and social criticism; outlaw motif in music; music in Czechoslovakia; Na szkle malowane; Nikola Šuhaj; Balada pro banditu Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Metternich - Nobile - Metternich. Patronát jako vztah s proměnlivou konstantou
Petrasová, Taťána
2020 - Czech
This paper examines the authorship of an artwork as the result of patronage in which the social capital of both participants - the artist and his patron - changes. Initially Metternich drew on the symbolic capital held by the Italian architect, who had studied in Rome. Later the balance of their relationship was reversed. The variable element in this patronage was the imbalance between how the patron and artist benefitted from their social capital - one in terms of representation, and the other in terms of success on the art market. Keywords: architecture; Neo-Classicism; ephemer architecture; park; monuments; Pietro Nobile; Clemens Wenzel Lothar Metternich; Bartolomeo Bongiovanni; Königswart; Kulm; Czech Lands; Austria; 19th century Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Richard Moest, autor-falzifikátor Klosterneuburské madony na lvu?
Hlobil, Ivo
2020 - Czech
The paper recapitulates in detail the long debate and the different views on the authenticity of the Klosterneuburg Madonna (National Gallery Prague) as major work of Master of Michle Virgin and Child from around 1345. The paper's author bring new arguments for the carving's authenticity. He believes that the Klosterneuburg Virgin and Child on Lion was originally part of the choir stalls in a church in Moravia or Bohemia. Literární zdroj nápisové desky Žerotínského paláce v Olomouci
Dolejší, Kateřina
2020 - Czech
Studie se zabývá monumentální nápisovou deskou z Žerotínského paláce v Olomouci. Desku nechal okolo roku 1597 vytesat moravský zemský hejtman Fridrich st. ze Žerotína. Čtrnáctiřádkový moralizující latinský text je doslovnou citací epigrafu z knihy novolatinského básníka Friedricha Taubmanna Melodaesia sive Epulum Musaeum, vydané poprvé roku 1597. This conference paper deals with Latin inscription on monumental sandstone slab of the Žerotín Palace in Olomouc. The large late Renaissance heraldic slab with ornamental cartouches was ordered around 1597 by the Moravian captain Fridrich the Elder from Žerotín. Fourteen line long moralizing Latin inscription is literal quote from the book Melodaesia sive Epulum Musaeum by neo-Latin poet Friedrich Taubmann from 1597. On sepulchral memory in an epigraphic campaign: The towns of Prague after the events of 1648
Roháček, Jiří
2019 - English
The more than four-month successful defense of the Old and New Towns of Prague against Swedish troops in 1648 was relatively small in the context of the Thirty Years' War, but a very important episode for Prague cities and to a large extent for Bohemia. In Prague we can observe the remains of a relevant, originally certainly much richer epigraphic campaign, which has two main directions - the first is connected with thanks to Virgin Mary as protector and intercessor of cities, the second with contextual presentation of improved coats of arm of Old and New Town. Surprising is, however, the absence of a larger sepulchral memorie of 219 fallen defenders. The only preserved monument is the epitaph of Václav Čabelický of Soutice in the Church of Our Lady before Týn. The figural epitaph is known for its rich heraldic and epigraphic accompaniment. This fact raises a number of questions about the position of sepulchral and epigraphic monuments in a collective memory. Keywords: epigraphy; inscription; sepulchral monuments; memory; campaign; Prague; Bohemia; 17th century Available at various institutes of the ASCR
