Title: Untergrundkirche und geheime Weihen. Eine kirchenrechtliche Untersuchung der Situation in der Tschechoslowakei 1948-1989 Name: Eva Vybíralová Department: Katedra pastorálních oborů a právních věd KTF UK Supervisor: prof. JUDr. Antonín Ignác Hrdina, DrSc. Abstract The aim of this project was the study of the ordination law, the history of the hidden church, and the subsequent research and comparison of all "types" of secret ordinations in all levels (ordination and consecration) granted during the Communist regime of 1948-1989 in Czechoslovakia or to Czechoslovak citizens abroad, especially from the perspective of the canon law. The presented dissertation consists of an introduction, seven chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter gives the basics of the ordination law, the second chapter describes the relations between the Church and the state during the relevant historical period in Czechoslovakia and the first secret Episcopal ordinations. The third chapter introduces the Mexican faculties. The fourth chapter introduces the other secret faculties granted to the Church in Czechoslovakia, from which, among other things, the ordination activities of the Jesuit bishops and Felix Davídek was unfolded. The fifth chapter provides an digression to the subject of secret ordinations given to Czechoslovak... Název disertace: Untergrundkirche und geheime Weihen. Eine kirchenrechtliche Untersuchung der Situation in der Tschechoslowakei 1948-1989 Jméno : Eva Vybíralová Katedra: Katedra pastorálních oborů a právních věd KTF UK Školitel: prof. JUDr. Antonín Ignác Hrdina, DrSc. Abstrakt Cílem tohoto projektu bylo studium ordinačního práva, dějin skryté církve a následné zkoumání a vzájemné srovnání všech "typů" tajných svěcení (uznaných i těch zpochybněných svěcení) ve všech stupních (ordinace i konsekrace), udělených v době komunistické vlády 1948-1989 v Československu, příp. v zahraničí československým občanům, a to především z pohledu kanonického práva. Předloženou disertaci tvoří úvod, šest kapitol a závěr. První kapitola uvádí do základů ordinačního práva, druhá kapitola přibližuje vztahy církve a státu v daném historickém období v Československu včetně prvních tajných biskupských svěcení.

Během dvacátých let 16. století lze paralelně k německým zemím pozorovat i na území dnešní České republiky vzestup produkce německy psaných letákových spisů. Jedním z hlavních center, kde autoři těchto děl působili, byly severní a severozápadní Čechy. Přestože byli podporováni místní šlechtou, Šliky a Salhauseny, nemohli evangeličtí kněží obvykle v regionu zůstat dlouho. In 1520's a parallel could be drawn between the rise of production of pamphlets written in German language in the German lands and in the Czech lands. The main centres, which are connected to the lives of the authors of the pamphlets, included North and Northwest Bohemia. Despite the support that Evangelical clergymen received from the local nobility, the lords of Schlick and Salhausen, they usually could not stay in the region for a long time. Nevertheless, their texts show that the ideas of Reformation spread to Bohemia and that Bohemian and Saxon Reformation were distinctly interconnected. The aim of this thesis is to provide a survey of the production, which has been so far more or less overlooked by researchers. It also explores the circumstances that surrounded the production. For this purpose, it deals primarily with paratexts and researches how and whether these were changed as the subsequent reprints were being made. Next to that, it explores the material side of the printed brochures and researches what the design of the prints can tell us about the author's intention or perception of the reading public at that time. However, the focus of the thesis is the question of identity. As the collective memory was changing during the Reformation, pamphlets served as a reservoir of various identification schemes. For one thing, they provide images of those who were inclined to the Gospel, for another, they portray the lives of their authors, their supporters and towns, which were attentive to the preachers at that time. Such information is to be considered as worthy historical information, but also, in the first place, as a kind of mirror of various stylizations or wishes of the authors that are reflected in their works. The aim of this research was to evaluate the degree of achievement motivation in pupils and their attitudes towards selected subjects (namely mathematics, German, English, and physics), and thereafter to compare the results with the views of their teachers. 860 pupils from German secondary schools and 1131 from Czech secondary schools have completed questionnaires for this purpose, with a comparison and evaluation of the results between the two countries carried out. The data which has been collected via the aforesaid questionnaires has been interpreted using statistical methods. The results highlight certain gender differences with respect to pupils' achievement motivation and attitudes towards school subjects. For example, in Germany, boys tend to achieve better grades than girls in mathematics, whereas in the Czech Republic, the opposite is the case. The majority of pupils of each gender in both countries agree that mathematics is important or very important. The results also show that teachers are not always able to accurately evaluate the achievement motivation or the attitudes of pupils towards the subject which they teach. In particular, the results show that teachers of mathematics are frequently unaware of the degree to which the fear of failure motivates their pupils. Furthermore, in... Available in a digital repository NRGL

The 20th century was shaped by migration in many ways. Wars led to population flight, deportation, displacement and resettlement, which then caused forced migration movements. However, migrational movements are not a phenomenon particular exclusively to the 20th century as population movements have shaped history for centuries. When looking at the profile of Huguenots or Salzburg Protestants in comparison to Bohemian exiles of the 17th and 18th centuries, it turns out that the matter have for a long time received only little academic attention. A high proportion of them consisted of religious refugees of protestant backgrounds which left Bohemia, Moravia and upper Hungary (now mostly part of Slovak territory) for Saxony, Brandenburg and later also Silesia during the Thirty Years War. The migration of Bohemians started when Silesia still belonged to the Bohemian Crown and was initially directed towards northern regions, i.e. Saxony and later also Brandenburg. As a result of the first Silesian War of 1742, Silesia came to be under Prussian administration. King Frederick the Great attempted to foster welfare of his sparesly populated country and granted religious refugees of bohemian, protestant background the opportunity to migrate to Silesia. An outcome of this political approach was the foundation of the Evangelical Reformed Congregatin of Hussinetz. For nearly two centuries, descendants of these religious refugees were preserving their language, customs and traditions in an area which would be a predominantly German culture sphere for centuries to come. The ones who remained would find themselves in a totally changed environment under Polish administration by the time of the 200th anniversary in 1949. In the first place, this study focuses on the period from 1945 to 1958, as during that time a third of the inhabitants of the Congregatin of Hussinetz belonged to the Czech minority. On a macro level, historic and political processes will be analysed, in particular those that led to the recognition of the Czech minority and among them, most of all, the i.e. "Strehlener Böhmen" (Czechs of Strehlen). On a micro level, this study also aims to illustrate processes of integration and adjustment of the Czechs of Strehlen in a then Polish dominated environment. Research is done on how humans orientate under changed circumstances, as well as on how they perceive, shape, acquire and change them. In addition, this study carves out, to what extend the specific circumstances of the church members influenced their identities. Did they develop hybrid identities? Autobiographical documents, among them chronicles and letters from several Polish and Czech archives, were used in terms of research material. In order to gain insights into the living environments of the Bohemians, interviews were conducted which centre on the existence of the subjects by taking into account their everyday life, as well as the microhistory of the individuals with their experiences, perceptions and actions. In total 28 individuals (the members of the congregatin and their descendants) were interviewed in the course of this study. Paradoxically, until 1957 the congregatin of Hussinetz was even able to gradually increase the standing of the minority. This ran counter to the politics of the then ruling Polish Labour Party (predecessor of the state party, which would rule the country until 1989) whose approach involved forming a homogenous Polish state. The submitted doctoral thesis examines the function and performance of the motive of a snake in four selected texts about artists of the German romantic period and perceives the snake as an attribute reflecting the problems of the artistic existence and a way to the artistic work, possibly of the artistic work at all. When interpreting the single motives of the snake, three-phase procedure as applied by Erwin Panofsky in description of the motives in the pictures has been chosen by analogy for literary texts. The interpretation is based on the structural position of the motive of the snake in the text and its performance in the text. Subsequently, the principal role is revelation of contexts which updates the given motive of the snake - in particular they are biblical snakes, mythical snakes and a serpentine line as a line of beauty which was the subject of the period aesthetic discourse. The meaning of the motive of the snake in the texts is given primarily by the mutual interaction of theme contexts which is in the single texts realized by various ways. The motive of the snake as formed in the single interpreted texts is a highly complex motive in all the cases. Analytická verbonominální spojení v humanistické češtině

2016 - German
Light verb constructions in Humanistic Czech This thesis surveys the supposed properties of light verb constructions (LVC, in Czech analytická verbonominální spojení, AVNS, in German Funktionsverbgefüge) on an extensive corpus of Czech texts dating from the Humanistic period. The LVC, a combination of a semantically bleached (light, semantically weak) verb and an abstract noun (a preposition and such a noun, respectively), are defined rather broadly and understood not necessarily as a syntactic unit (predicate) but rather as a lexical unit different from both free collocations and phrasemes. Special attention is paid to transitional examples of these constructions with non- prototypical properties of the verb or noun. In the individual chapters, the semantic and syntactical properties of the light verbs are discussed, as well as the word formation (derivation) patterns of the abstract nouns forming the LVC. The core of the analysis lies in the prepositional constructions, on which the LVC-delimitation criteria are applied. It is shown that the meanings of such constructions are subjects to stabilizing and develop from spatial (or directional, respectively) to abstract meanings, including their lexicalization. Moreover, the possibilities of using alternative means of expression are examined. The last chapter... Analytická verbonominální spojení v humanistické češtině Práce ověřuje na rozsáhlém korpusu textů humanistické češtiny předpokládané vlastnosti analytických verbonominálních spojení (AVNS, něm. Funktionsverbgefüge, FVG), tj. spojení významově vyprázdněného (kategoriálního, desémantizovaného) slovesa s abstraktním substantivem, popř. s předložkou a takovým substantivem.
