Disertační práce se zabývá jak pedagogickou prací židovských anglických žen, které byly veřejně činné v židovské dobročinnosti, tak jejich působením v židovských školách. Tento historický fenomén práce ilustruje především (nikoli však výlučně) na osudu a životním díle Charlotte de Rothschild (1819-1884). Charlotte de Rothschild byla židovskou anglickou šlechtičnou, která pocházela z německé a neapolské větve rodiny von Rothschild, která psala své deníky v jazyce německém, i když už několik let žila trvale v Anglii. V Londýně, kam se provdala, se celý svůj život zasazovala o rozvoj anglického židovské školství a to prostřednictvím institucionální charitativní práce. Charlotte de Rothschild byla známá také jako diaristka a pisatelka dopisů jak v německé jazyce tak v dalších evropských jazycích. Korespondovala především se členy svojí primární rodiny a svými švagrovými, které měly podobnou biografii. Byl jí vlastní také politický aktivismus "social politics" a psaní didaktických knih, čímž přispěla k anglickému židovskému osvícenství. Všechny zmíněné aspekty celoživotního díla této výjimečné osobnosti nejen židovských novodobých dějin práce rozpracovává prostřednictvím historické antropologie, mikrohistorie a gender studies. V práci jsou také analyzovány egodokumenty, zejména deníky a dopisy, které jsou podrobovány literárněvědné analýze. Disertační práce se zabývá také jazykovou situací a náboženskou identitou anglických a německých Židů v 19. století, což je nutné k pochopení celkového kontextu, ve kterém se hlavní aktérka pohybovala. The dissertation deals with the educational work of the English Jewess who were publicly active in Jewish philanthropy, and their involvement in Jewish schools. This dissertation illustrates this historical phenomenon primarily (but not exclusively) on the fate and life's work of Charlotte de Rothschild (1819-1884). Charlotte de Rothschild was an Jewish English noblewoman, who came from Germany and the Neapolitan branch of the family von Rotschild. She wrote her diaries in German, although for several years lived permanently in England. In London, where she married, urged her whole life to the development of the Jewish Education in England through the institutional charity work. Charlotte de Rothschild was also known as diarist and writer of letters in German and other European languages. Mainly corresponded with the members of her primary family and her sisters in law who´s had similar biography. It was also her political activism "social politics" and writing didactic books, thereby contributing to an English Jewish Enlightenment. All these aspects of the life's work of this outstanding figures of not only modern Jewish history, the disertation elaborates through a historical anthropology, microhistory and gender studies. The paper also analyzed ego-documents, particularly diaries and letters, which are subject to literary scientific analysis. The disertation also deals with linguistic situation and religious identity of English and German Jews in the 19th century, which is necessary to understand the overall context in which the main character moved.

Disertační práce "Die Sprache der Werbespots. Eine pragmatische Untersuchung unter der binären Optik der genderlinguistischen Forschung" ("Jazyk reklamních spotů. Pragmatická analýza reklamy binární optikou gerderového výzkumu") se skládá ze dvou částí. V teoretické části se autorka bude věnovat postavení jazyka reklamy v rámci lingvistiky. Teoretická část tvoří východisko pro další výzkum. V empirické části se autorka zabývá výzkumem televizních reklamních spotů propagujících výrobky ze dvou velmi úzce propojených oblastí, a to produkty kosmetického a farmaceutického průmyslu. Cílem výzkumu je poskytnout analýzu vybraných jevů z více jazykových úrovní od lexémů až po větší verbální celky. Výzkum reklamního diskursu bude prováděn především z pohledu pragmatického a gendrového jazykového zkoumání. Autorka bude věnovat pozornost i verbálnímu chování mužů a žen s ohledem pohlaví zamýšleného publika, bude se zabývat možnostmi persuase, jazykové manipulace a možnostmi řízení společnosti za pomocí jazykových prostředků. This dissertation "The Language of German Advertisement Spots. The Pragmatic Analysis by the Binary Optics of the Gender-Linguistic Research" is a contribution to the theme concerning advertising language. The dissertation consists of two parts. The theoretical part clarifies linguistic-philosophical starting points of the dissertation, devotes the attention to the role of advertising language in the scope of linguistics, classifies advertising and concerns with such terms as persuasion and manipulation. The theoretical part constitutes the basis for the next research. In the empirical part the author concentrates on the research of television advertising spots promoting products from two closely connected fields, beauty product advertising and advertising in the pharmaceutical industry and describes the source of corpus. The aim of the research is to provide the analysis of the selected phenomena from the perspective of more linguistic levels, from lexemes up to larger verbal groups, specifically pronouns, wordstock concerning colours, euphemisms and questions and appeals. The research of advertising discourse is carried out particularly from the perspective of pragmatic and gender linguistic exploration, provides the comparison and analysis of the persuasive potential of such linguistic means in advertising discourse and follows the frequency of their occurrence. The author devotes the attention to verbal behaviour of men and women with regard to the gender of target audience, looks deeply into possibilities of persuasion, linguistic manipulation and possibilities of controlling society with the help of linguistic means.

Disertační práce se zabývá deminutivy v německých a českých pohádkách z 19. století a ze současnosti. Jejím cílem je porovnat, jaké prostředky deminuce se ve vybraných dílech vysky-tují, v jakém množství jsou použity a jaké plní sémantické a pragmatické funkce. Velká po-zornost je proto věnována slovotvorbě, při níž jsou slova zdrobnělá rozdělena na tvary synte-tické a analytické, jejichž vzájemný poměr je ve zvoleném časovém období rovněž sledován. The dissertation deals with diminutives in German and Czech in fairy tales of the 19th century and the present. The main task of the thesis is to compare the formation and development of diminutives in both languages, to find out how often the diminutive morphemes are used and what semantic and pragmatic functions they fulfil. The diminutives collected are classified as the synthetic and the analytic forms. The research is also focused on the change of the relationship between these two classes from the 19th century to the present.

Is there a world in G. W. F. Hegel's The Phenomenology of Spirit? This is the central question my doctoral thesis aims to address. Both scholars and philosophers alike tend to consider Hegel a thinker who, having formulated the philosophy of absolute spirit, has surrendered the world. Despite this suspicion, the consciousness finds itself at nearly every level of Hegel's oeuvre in a place called "the world". At every stage, the world changes its shape - along with the consciousness - but its function seems to remain the same. The world is a conception of totality; thus, the world is an object of the consciousness that, by definition, surpasses the consciousness and thus reveals its limits. This moment of a "worldly" estrangement is especially pronounced as the consciousness sets itself into action. One of the most recurring motives in Hegel's The Phenomenology of Spirit is the inability of the consciousness to realize its intentions as planned. The consciousness fails to recognize itself in the deed, and thus devises strategies to distance itself from the deed. In my interpretation, this testifies that the deed is the door to the world, and obviously this world is not one that would be in the power of the consciousness. Instead, it is the consciousness that needs to subordinate itself to the deed... Existuje v Hegelově Fenomenologii ducha nějaký svět, a pokud ano, jak vypadá? Disertace si klade za úkol zodpovědět tuto otázku, na niž badatelé i filosofové tradičně odpovídají negativně: filosofie absolutního ducha neskýtá prostor pro svět. Faktem sice je, že Hegel skutečně nepředstavil filosofický pojem světa, zároveň je ale rovněž nápadné, že svět se objevuje na téměř každé úrovni Fenomenologie ducha. Stejně jako vědomí se i svět na každé úrovni Fenomenologie ducha proměňuje. Určitá funkce zůstává však světu vlastní napříč jednotlivými úrovněmi: svět je takový předmět vědomí, který samo vědomí vždy přesahuje, a který tedy vyjevuje hranice vědomí. Svět tak vystupuje ve Fenomenologii ducha v podobě určité koncepce celku, který vědomí nemá ve své moci. Tento zcizující moment je nejlépe patrný tehdy, odhodlá-li se vědomí k činu. Jedním z nejčastějších motivů Hegelovy filosofie je nespokojenost vědomí se svým činem, jeho přesvědčení, že v činu byl zrazen záměr. Již tato bytostná neschopnost vědomí uskutečnit to, co si předsevzalo, poukazuje k tomu, že skrze čin vtrhává do Já svět. Dále se ukazuje, že svět je dynamikou, která se vědomí vždy vymyká. Disertační práce se zabývá německým jazykem v Rakousku, zejména jazykovou situací u mladší a vzdělanější generace. Na základě provedeného sociolingvistického šetření, kterého se zúčastnilo celkem 300 respondentů z celého Rakouska (jednalo se zejména o zástupce věkové kategorie 19-30 let se středoškolským vzděláním s maturitou, popř. vzděláním vysokoškolským), bylo možné porovnat užití konkrétních výrazů mezi vybranými spolkovými zeměmi a rovněž potvrdit či vyvrátit stanovené hypotézy. This thesis focuses on the German language in Austria, especially on the language situation in the younger and more educated generation. Based on the sociolinguistic survey in which 300 respondents from all over Austria participated (focusing on the 19-30 year old age range with a secondary education or a university degree), it was possible to compare specific expressions among selected federal states of Austria and to confirm or disprove our hypotheses.

Philosophical investigations in the field of "applied theatre" following Maurice Merleau-Ponty's gestalttheoretical phenomenology This dissertation analyses the most important forms of drama/acting-exercises in the field of "applied theatre" (acting- schools, drama education and community theatre) from the perspective of establishing democratic relations and spaces. What happens in these imaginative interactions and what is needed in their aesthetical and pedagogical framework so that a special type of playful meeting occurs leading to a "connectedness" in the relation to others and oneself? Three phenomena (and their interdependence) are central to this project: the already mentioned capacity of being more or less in contact, connected (or alienated) to ourselves and others; the aesthetical and educational phenomenon of a creative space of trust and acceptance; and the idea of being "humane" - for example describing the atmosphere and characters of many works of the classical (childrens) literature and film: such as Lindgren or Dickens, but even of works of art such as Chaplins films. Tato disertační práce je historicky první vědeckou prací o Rudolfu Rittnerovi (1869 1943) vycházející z jeho pozůstalosti. Osobní svědectví Rudolfa Rittnera a korespondence s předními představiteli naturalismu a moderny vrhají nové světlo nejen na tohoto herce, dramatika a nástupce divadelního ředitele Otty Brahma pohled do zákulisí umožňuje vyzdvihnout jeho práci pro Ottu Brahma a dramatika Gerharta Hauptmanna na partnerskou spolupráci a doplňuje mnohými nuancemi kapitoly o naturalismu a moderně. Nejinak je tomu s Rittnerovou dramatickou tvorbou, jejíž vrchol, Narrenglanz/Lesk šaška, lze chápat nejen jako jedinečné drama zabývající se věčnou problematikou umělce, ale i jako dílo problematizující samotný naturalismus a modernu. Práce prezentuje Rudolfa Rittnera v celé jeho rozmanitosti uměleckého oborů i kulturních prostředí, ve kterých působil. This dissertation is historically the first biography of Rudolf Rittner (1869 1943) that is based on materials from his estate. Rudolf Rittner's personal testimony and his correspondence with prominent representatives of naturalism and modernism put a new perspective on this actor, playwright, and successor of the theatre director Otto Brahm; the look backstage allows us to consider his work for Otto Brahm and the playwright Gerhart Hauptmann a co-operation based on partnership. Moreover, it enriches chapters on naturalism and modernism with subtle nuances. The same applies to Rudolf Rittner's dramatic work since its peak; the play Narrenglanz/A Fool's Glory, can be understood not only as a unique play dealing with the eternal problem of the artist but also as a work thematising the literary movement of naturalism and modernism. This dissertation presents Rudolf Rittner in the whole range of artistic branches and cultural spaces he participated in.

(EN) Ideological Intervention in the Early Modern Period. The Case of the Dutch Republic and the Estates of Cleves-Mark in the 1640s and 1650s 1648 is traditionally considered a major break in international relations. This thesis deals with the Dutch interventions in Cleves-Mark in the period before and after the Treaties of Westphalia and sets out to test some of these traditional assumptions. Rejecting the concept of the "Westphalian" sovereignty, it advocates a relational view based on mutual recognition. Accordingly, it focuses on the negotiations of the three subjects under scrutiny - the Dutch Republic as the intervening power, the Estates of Cleves-Mark as instigators and beneficiaries of the intervention, and the Elector of Brandenburg as the legitimate ruler - about their sovereignty, as they took shape in the arena of the "courtly public", especially in diplomacy. In the first part I argue that the Dutch Republic reacted very conservatively to the pressure to legitimize its role as a new member of the highly monarchical "courtly public". I also examined the impact of the domestic political system and diplomatic ceremonial on the external performance of the Dutch Republic, thereby uncovering the particular role of the Province of Gelderland. Příklad Republiky Spojeného Nizozemí a stavů Kleve-Mark ve 40. a 50. letech 17. století Práce se zabývá nizozemskými intervencemi v Kleve-Mark v období před a po 1648 a kriticky zkoumá roli tohoto roku jako mezníku. Vychází z odmítnutí "vestfálského" konceptu suverenity a přiklání se k relacionalistickému pojetí založenému na uznání. Zaměřuje se proto na komunikace jednotlivých zkoumaných subjektů (nizozemské republiky jako intervenující mocnosti, braniborského kurfiřta jako legitimního panovníka a zemských stavů jako iniciátorů a adresátů intervence) o suverenitě, tak, jak probíhaly na poli tzv. dvorské veřejnosti, zejména v diplomacii. V první části jsem konstatovala, že nizozemská republika reagovala velmi konzervativně na legitimizační tlak vyplývající z její role jako nového člena vysoce monarchicky definované "dvorské veřejnosti". Dále jsem zkoumala vliv vnitřního politického systému a ceremoniálu na vystupování nizozemské republiky směrem navenek, kde jsem konstatovala významnou roli provincie Gelderland. Dientzenhofer-Skizzenbuches) Abstrakt vedoucí práce: Ing. Petr Macek, PhD. 2015 Abstrakt Der vorliegende Text befasst sich mit einer Plangruppe aus dem sog. Dientzenhofer- Skizzenbuch und ihrer didaktischen Funktion im Rahmen der barocken Architekturlehre. Anhand von halbierten Kirchengrundrissen wurden architektonische Prinzipien und Themen geübt, deren Variieren darauf abzielte, verschiedene raumgliedernde Motive auszuprägen. Dies stellte ein praktisches Pendant zur herkömmlichen Traktat-Literatur dar.
