Výzkum vnímání vlivu seriálu Srdcerváči na LGBTQ+ komunitu

The British series Heartstopper was first available online on the Netflix platform on april 22, 2022, although the graphic novel that became the basis for the series was first published in 2019. It is now one of the most successful series produced by Netflix, also on the social network TikTok the #heartstopper hashtag reached trillions of views. The third television part and the fifth part of the graphic novel are currently being prepared. In this work, I want to focus on the series, and specifically how viewers of the LGBTQ+ community perceive the series. The main goal will be to find out if the series in any way affects their lives and the concept of relationships and if it had an effect on their attitudes towards the majority society judging the LGBTQ+ minority and other stuff. For this finding, I will use qualitative analysis and a form of in-depth interviews with viewers of the series who identify as queer. The main areas that I would like to focus on are a) the relationship of the viewer to individualism, b) the relationship to the LGBTQ+ community, c) the perception of oneself as queer in the majority society. Britský seriál Srdcerváči byl poprvé dostupný online na platformě Netflix 22. dubna 2022, přestože grafický román, který se stal seriálu předlohou, byl vydán poprvé již v roce 2019. Nyní se jedná o jeden z nejúspěšnějších seriálů z produkce Netflixu, taktéž na sociální síti TikTok dosáhl hashtag #heartstopper biliony zhlédnutí. V současnosti se chystá již třetí pokračování seriálu a páté pokračování grafického románu. V této práci se chci zaměřit na výše zmíněný seriál, a především na způsob, jakým diváci LGBTQ+ komunity seriál vnímají. Hlavním cílem bude zjistit, jestli seriál nějakým způsobem ovlivnil jejich životy a pojetí vztahů a zdali měl vliv na jejich postoje vůči většinové společnosti posuzující menšinu LGBTQ+ a další hlediska. K tomuto zjištění použiji kvalitativní analýzu a formu hloubkových rozhovorů s diváky seriálu, kteří se identifikují jako queer. Hlavní okruhy, na které bych se chtěla zaměřit, jsou a) vztah diváka či divačky k individualismu, b) vztah k LGBTQ+ komunitě, c) vnímání sebe sama jako queer ve většinové společnosti.

Body shaming ve sportu na území České republiky

This thesis deals with the issue of body shaming in the top sports environment in the Czech Republic and its impact on sportsmen and sportswomen. The aim of this thesis is to find out through qualitative research the personal experiences of sportsmen and sportswomen with negative comments about their physical appearance and whether these experiences differ depending on their gender identity. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the basic concepts related to the issue, such as the body, shame and the ideal of beauty, which are applied in the analytical part to the data collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with male and female respondents who are or have been involved in the Czech elite sport. The analytical part reveals the main actors of body shaming, which contribute to the different perceptions of body shaming depending on gender identity. The main finding of this qualitative research is that men perceive this form of abuse as a motivating factor for getting better sporting results, while women view it very negatively and it affects not only their sporting careers but also their personal lives. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou body shamingu ve vrcholovém sportovním prostředí na území České republiky a jeho dopady na sportovce a sportovkyně. Cílem práce je prostřednictvím kvalitativního výzkumu zjistit osobní zkušenosti sportovců a sportovkyň s negativními komentáři ohledně jejich tělesného vzhledu a zda se tyto zkušenosti liší v závislosti na jejich genderových identitách. Teoretická část práce vymezuje základní koncepty spojené s danou problematikou, jako je tělo, stud a ideál krásy ve sportovním kontextu, které jsou v rámci analytické části aplikovány na získané data skrze polostrukturované hloubkové rozhovory s respondenty a respondentkami, kteří se pohybují nebo pohybovali v českém vrcholovém sportu. Analytická část odhaluje základní aktéry a aktérky body shamingu, kteří se podílejí na odlišném vnímání body shamingu v závislosti na genderové identitě. Základním zjištěním tohoto kvalitativního výzkumu je, že muži vnímají tuto formu zneužívání jako motivační faktor pro získaní lepších sportovních výsledků, zatímco ženy ji hodnotí velmi negativně a ovlivňuje nejen jejich sportovní kariéru, ale i osobní životy.

Komparace etnické nerovnosti a stereotypu sexuální orientace v televizních seriálech "Přátelé" a "Teorie velkého třesku"

The aim of this thesis is to observe socio-social phenomena, specifically the balance of ethnic representations and diversity of sexual orientation, in the context of portrayals in the popular media space, television. The tracking of this issue is done on the series The Big Bang Theory. The fundamental questions of the research conducted are whether the series sufficiently portrays racial and ethnic diversity in the cast of actors and actresses, and whether it also sufficiently talks about and portrays LGBT issues. The thesis also touches upon whether and how stereotyping is used in the media content under study. The content also includes a historical anchoring and an overview of the development of television production in the 20th century, along with the characteristics and development of the sitcom itself. Finally, the thesis compares the analysed series The Big Bang Theory with Friends, which was also analysed in the previous thesis "The Problem of Ethnic Inequality and the Stereotype of Sexual Orientation in the TV Series Friends". For the theoretical part of the thesis, a variety of literature was used. The analytical part contains two questionnaire surveys and their results in data. Cílem této práce je sledování sociálně-společenských jevů, konktrétně vyváženosti etnických zastoupení a různorodosti sexuální orientace, a to v rámci zobrazení v populárním mediálním prostoru, televizi. Sledování této problematiky se provádí na seriálu Teorie velkého třesku. Zásadními otázkami provedeného výzkumu je, zdali seriál dostatečně vyobrazuje rasovou a etnickou diverzitu v obsazení herců a hereček, a zdali také dostatečně mluví o tématu LGBT a taktéž jejich zástupce zobrazuje. Práce se také dotýká toho, zda a jakým způsobem je ve zkoumaném mediálním obsahu užita stereotypizace. Obsahem je také historické ukotvení a přiblížení vývoje televizní produkce ve 20. století, spolu s charakteristikou a vývojem sitkomu samotného. V závěru je pak v práci provedena komparace analyzovaného seriálu Teorie velkého třesku spolu se seriálem Přátelé, který byl taktéž analyzován v předešlé práci "Problém etnické nerovnosti a stereotypu sexuální orientace v televizním seriálu Přátelé". Pro teoretickou část práce byla použita různorodá odborná literatura. Část analytická pak obsahuje dva provedené dotazníkové výzkumy a jejich výsledky v datech. V úplném závěru je pak shrnutí všech důležitých informací a poznatků, které práce a analýza přinesly. Ze všech těchto údajů poté docházím k závěrům a vyvstalým otázkám.

Title The Journalist Richard Weiner Abstract The diploma thesis " The journalist Richard Weiner" is a comprehensive monogram of Richard Weiner's work with the main emphasis on his journalistic and publishing activities in the contemporary periodicals such as Lidové noviny, Písecké listy, Přítomnost, Rozvoj, Lumír, Novina and Volné směry and the journal Samostatnost, or Venkov newspaper and Národní listy. In this way, he spent a very important part of the his professional - journalistic life in the French capital city Paris. He lived there as a correspondent for Lidové noviny and the magazine Přítomnost. In the thesis is also included his writing and the poetry work with by defined an undeniable influence at the Czech expressionist literary works. Part of the work is also devoted to his work in the art group Le Grand Jeu, which had a great influence on his poetic and journalistic work. Název Novinářská osobnost Richarda Weinera Abstrakt Diplomová práce "Novinářská osobnost Richarda Weinera" je ucelenou monografií tvorby Richarda Weinera s hlavním důrazem na jeho novinářskou a publikační činnost v soudobých periodikách, jako jsou Lidové noviny, týdeník Písecké listy, časopisy Přítomnost, Rozvoj, Lumír, Novina a Volné směry deníku Samostatnost, nebo noviny Venkov a Národní listy. V tomto směru sehrála velmi důležitou část autorova profesního - novinářského života léta, která prožil ve francouzské metropoli Paříži. Tam se živil jako korespondent Lidových novin a časopisu Přítomnost. This master's thesis focuses on a comparative study of the political framing of immigrants and refugees in Czech media during three key periods: the migration crisis of 2015-2016, the Covid- 19 pandemic, and the period following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The thesis has two main objectives: to examine which frames prevailed in the portrayal of immigrants and refugees during each period and, secondly, to attempt to explain the variation in frames used by individual politicians in their media appearances related to framing of immigrants and refugees. To achieve these goals, the thesis employs quantitative content analysis and regression analysis. Content analysis of the framing of immigrants and refugees is conducted based on the data from the main evening newscasts of the most-watched Czech television channels. Key frames identified during the three periods include administrative, economic, security, cultural, and humanitarian frames. The results suggest that politicians adapt their framing of immigrants and refugees based on the socio-political context and the structure and characteristics of incoming immigrants and refugees. Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na komparativní výzkum politického vyobrazování imigrantů a uprchlíků v českém mediálním zpravodajství během tří klíčových období: migrační krize z let 2015 a 2016, pandemie Covid-19 a ruské invaze na Ukrajinu. Práce má dva hlavní cíle, a to podívat se na to které rámce pro vyobrazování imigrantů a uprchlíků převládaly v jednotlivých obdobích a také pokusit se o vysvětlení variace rámování, tak jak ho používali jednotliví politici v jejich mediálních vystoupeních. K dosažení těchto cílů práce využívá kvantitativní obsahové analýzy a také regresní analýzy. Obsahová analýza rámování imigrantů a uprchlíků je vykonána na datovém základě hlavních večerních zpravodajských relací nejsledovanějších českých televizních kanálů. V průběhu tří sledovaných období byly identifikovány klíčové rámce - administrativní, ekonomický, bezpečnostní, kulturní a humanitární. Výsledky naznačují, že politici adaptují své rámování imigrantů a uprchlíků na základě daného socio-politického kontextu a v závislosti na struktuře a charakteristikách příchozích imigrantů a uprchlíků. Analýza tak ukazuje na značné proměny rámování tří sledovaných období. Výsledky také naznačují, že použití jednotlivých rámců politiky má částečně souvislost s jejich stranickou a občas také vládně-opoziční příslušností.

Diploma thesis focuses on victim blaming and using rape myths in public discuissions of the news articles. Specifically it is focused on discussions of online media Seznam zprávy, Novinky and iDnes. In the theoretical part it represents the issue of sexual violence, victim blaming theories and the behavior of internet usersin discussions. Further it focuses on three specific cases related to sexual violence - cases of Dominik Feri, Jan Cimický and statement of the police chief Martin Vondrášek about fake rapes. Research part of diplomat theses examines a total of 4 890 comments from public discussions of the news media. Research maps the level of victim blaming and using rape myths. In each of the cases it takes into account specific aspects of a particular case. The results show, that the level of victim blaming in discussions is almost 36 percent. Rape myths are using by 38 percent of users. It follows further from the research, that debaters often downplay sexual violence. Semiotic analysis is devoted to sepcific myths used in discussions. In addition to rape myths, it also refer about other users assumptions, that have come up in the discussions. Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na obviňování oběti a užívání mýtů o znásilnění ve veřejných diskuzích pod zpravodajskými články. Konkrétně zohledňuje diskuze online médií Seznam zprávy, Novinky a iDnes. V teoretické části představuje problematiku sexuálního násilí, teorie o obviňování oběti a chování uživatelů internetu v diskuzích. Dále se zaměřuje na tři konkrétní kauzy související se sexuálním násilím v České republice - případ Dominika Feriho, Jana Cimického a výrok policejního prezidenta Martina Vondráška o smyšlených znásilněních. Výzkumná část rozebírá celkem 4 890 komentářů z veřejných diskuzí zpravodajských médií. Mapuje míru obviňování oběti a užívání mýtů o znásilnění. U každého z případů pak zohledňuje specifické aspekty konkrétní kauzy. Výsledky ukazují, že oběti obviňuje skoro 36 procent komentářů, mýty o znásilnění používá 38 procent uživatelů. Z výzkumu dále vyplývá časté zlehčování sexuálního násilí diskutéry. Konkrétním mýtům užívaným v komentářích se věnuje sémiotická analýza. Kromě mýtů o znásilnění rozebírá i další časté domněnky uživatelů, které se ve sledovaných diskuzích objevily. 1 Abstract This masters thesis aims to analyse the everyday practice of Czech influencers on social media. It asks how they approach topics that may influence the onset and development of a particular form of eating disorder within their audience. The thesis also aims to find out the Czech influencers attitudes towards regulation of social platforms and who they think should communicate experttopics and in what way. Last but not least, the thesis aims to analyze how the influencers articulate and use the influence they have gained through their activity on theplatforms during their career. The text of the thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is dedicated to the current state of knowledge. It consists of several chapters that review publications dealing with influencers, social media in relation to eating disorders, and the current regulation of these platforms. The research methodology, which is built on the grounded theory method, is introduced in the second section The method of data collection through semi-structured interviews is also described in more detail. Jejím cílem je zjistit, jak přistupují k tématům, která mohou mít vliv na vznik a rozvoj určité formy poruchy příjmu potravy na straně jejich publika. Práce si také klade za cíl zjistit, jak české influencerky nahlíží na regulaci sociálních sítí, kdo by dle nich měl komunikovat odborná témata a také jakým způsobem. V neposlední řadě je cílem práce zjistit, zda si jsou influencerky vědomy vlivu, který díky své aktivitě na těchto platformách v průběhu svého působení získaly, a jak jej v praxi využívají. Text práce je členěn do tří částí. První z nich je věnována současnému stavu poznání. Skládá se z několika kapitol, které se věnují rešerši publikací zabývajících se problematikou influencerů, sociálních sítí ve spojitosti s poruchami příjmu potravy a také současné regulaci těchto platforem. The diploma thesis examines the topic of Stereotyping females in high positions in Czech television shows. An analysis of three Czech series Odznak Vysočina, Anatomie života and Zoo examines the treatment of female protagonists in leadership and attempts to reveal their possible stereotyping. The research is conducted using narrative analysis supplemented by qualitative analysis. The theoretical part of the work is based on the thesis that leadership is a gender concept that is anchored in masculinity, which is based on the historical dominance of men in the highest positions. Feminine traits are sought out as unsuited for leadership roles, leading to prejudices that women are not suited for these positions. Based on these ideas, women leaders still face gender stereotypes and prejudices. The aim of this work is to reveal how the narratives of female figures in leadership are constructed and if there are gender stereotypes in their portrayal. Narrative analysis is applied to three research dimensions that are used with existing testing. The dimensions are the position of female protagonists in the narrative, the construction of a woman in leadership as a leader, and the construction of the femininity of a woman in leadership. The resulting work aims to contribute to the debate about the... Diplomová práce je na téma Stereotypizace žen na vysokých pozicích v české televizní tvorbě. Analýza tří českých seriálů Odznak Vysočina, Anatomie života a Zoo zkoumá zpracování ženských hrdinek ve vedení a pokouší se o odhalení jejich možné stereotypizace. Výzkum je zpracován pomocí narativní analýzy doplněnou o kvalitativní analýzu. Teoretická část práce vychází z teze, že leadership je genderový koncept, jež je ukotven v maskulinitě, což vychází z historické dominance mužů na nejvyšších pozicích. Ženské rysy jsou považovány za nehodící se pro roli lídra, což vede k předsudkům, že ženy se na tyto pozice nehodí. Na základě těchto představ ženy lídři doteď čelí genderovým stereotypům a předsudkům. Cílem této práce je odhalit, jakým způsobem jsou konstruovány narativy ženských postav ve vedení a nachází-li se v jejich zobrazení genderové stereotypy. Narativní analýza je aplikována na tří výzkumné dimenze, které se stávají předmětem zkoumání. Dimenzemi jsou postavení ženské hrdinky v narativu, konstrukce ženy ve vedení jako lídra a konstrukce feminity ženy ve vedení. Výsledná práce má za cíl přispět k debatě o reprezentaci žen na vysokých pozicích v médiích a způsob, jakým přistupují k jejich konstrukci jako lídrů.

The thesis examines the relationship and attitudes of the citizens of the Czech Republic towards the environment and its protection. Specifically, it explores the willingness to reduce the use of automobiles and decision-making regarding the purchase of electric vehicles, as well as the factors influencing these choices. The introduction of the thesis reflects a shift in the perception of the environment from an anthropocentric to an ecocentric conception. The theoretical foundation for the analysis is the Value-Belief-Norm (VBN) theory, which examines the influence of values, beliefs, norms, and sociodemographic factors on environmental behavior, specifically in the context of reducing use of automobiles. The thesis employs a combined research design, including a quantitative survey conducted using the CAWI method followed by semi-structured interviews with selected respondents. The analysis reveals a growing trend of postmaterialism and an interest in supporting the sustainability of the environment in the Czech Republic. The regression analysis identifies key predictors of the willingness to reduce car use, including awareness of environmental issues, perception of the danger of automobiles to the air quality, willingness to pay for environmental protection, ecocentric attitudes, postmaterialist... Diplomová práce zkoumá vztah a postoje obyvatel České republiky k životnímu prostředí a jeho ochraně. Specificky ochotu omezit používání osobních automobilů a rozhodování o koupi elektromobilů a faktory, které toto ovlivňují. Úvod práce reflektuje posun ve vnímání životního prostředí z antropocentrického na ekocentrické pojetí. Teoretickým základem pro analýzu je teorie Value-Belief-Norm (VBN), která zkoumá vliv hodnot, přesvědčení, norem a sociodemografických faktorů na environmentální chování, konkrétně v kontextu omezení automobilové dopravy. Práce využívá kombinovaný výzkumný design, zahrnující kvantitativní dotazníkové šetření metodou CAWI a následné polostrukturované rozhovory s vybranými respondenty. Analýza ukazuje rostoucí trend postmaterialismu a zájem o podporu udržitelnosti životního prostředí v České republice. Regresní analýza identifikuje klíčové prediktory ochoty omezit užívání automobilů, a to informovanost o environmentálních otázkách, vnímání nebezpečí automobilů pro ovzduší, ochotu platit za ochranu životního prostředí, ekocentrické postoje, postmaterialistické hodnoty, hodiny strávené v autě týdně a místo bydliště ve větších městech. This thesis examines the phenomenon of hyper-realistic sex dolls and robots, perceived as modern social and emotional partners. The study focuses on how users on The Doll Forum shape and interpret the gender identity and subjectivity of these artificial companions. The main objective is to determine whether interactions between users and these entities lead to the subversion of traditional gender norms or, conversely, reinforce the heteronormative paradigm. The research employs digital ethnography methods and poststructuralist discourse analysis. Results suggest that despite some tendencies towards subversion, prevailing discourses on the TDF still strengthen conventional gender roles and norms, with a group of users attempting to challenge these norms. This work thus reveals the complex dynamics between technological advancement and social norms in the context of modern intimate and interpersonal relationships. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá fenoménem hyperrealistických sexuálních panen a robotů, kteří jsou vnímáni jako novodobí sociální a emoční partneři. Studie se zaměřuje na to, jak uživatelé na internetovém fóru The Doll Forum formují a interpretují genderovou identitu a subjektivitu těchto umělých společníků. Hlavním cílem bylo zjistit, zda interakce mezi uživateli a těmito objekty vedou k subverzi tradičních genderových norem nebo naopak posilují heteronormativní paradigma. Výzkum využívá metod digitální etnografie a poststrukturální diskurzivní analýzy. Výsledky naznačují, že i přes určité tendence k subverzi, převládající diskurzy na fóru TDF stále posilují konvenční genderové role a normy, přičemž existuje i skupina uživatelů, kteří se snaží tyto normy vyvracet. Tato práce tak odhaluje komplexní dynamiku mezi technologickým pokrokem a sociálními normami v kontextu moderních intimních a mezilidských vztahů.
