The use of thermography in surveys of monuments

2024 - Czech Thermography expands the portfolio of methods that can be used to study the properties of objects in the surrounding world. As recently as a decade ago, the technology was frowned upon for potential military applications controlled, which limited competition in the offer of products and manufacturers and led to high prices of devices based on these principles. It was only thanks to the release of this control that it happened to expand production and make simplified products available to mass use, so get it today for example, a customer can purchase a smartphone with an additional thermographic module for only with a small price increase. Together with the availability of equipment, we observe an increase in the application of thermography in many areas, including surveys of buildings and monuments. Termografie rozšiřuje portfolia metod, jimiž lze studovat vlastnosti objektů okolního světa. Ještě před deseti lety byla tato technologie kvůli potenciálním vojenským aplikacím úzkostlivě kontrolována, což omezovalo konkurenci v nabídce výrobků a výrobců a vedlo k vysokým cenám zařízení založených na těchto principech. Teprve díky uvolnění této kontroly došlo k rozmachu výroby a zpřístupnění zjednodušených výrobků masovému využití, takže si dnes může zákazník například pořídit chytrý telefon s doplňkovým termografickým modulem jen s malým navýšením ceny. Spolu s dostupností zařízení pozorujeme nárůst uplatnění termografie v mnoha oblastech, včetně průzkumů staveb a památek. Railway Traveller Eduard Bazika, or Travelling with Wife

2024 - Czech Ing. Eduard Bazika (1830–1914) was not a professional pilgrim, but a pilgrim by profession. As a graduate of the Prague Polytechnic, he specialized in railway construction all his life and as an engineer, first of all for the State railways, and from 1855 until his retirement in 1891, he traveled all his life for the private State Railway Company (StEG), or rather, before construction, he traveled the entrusted railways in the Bohemian and Moravian landscape. Even after retiring, he worked for the Land Committee of the Kingdom of Bohemia and its Railway Committee, and in this position he once again traveled to all corners of Bohemia to assess the profitability of future local railways. A peculiarity of his was that he always tried to combine his traveling duties with his family life, which resulted in his wife and children traveling with him to various estates and railway constructions. He did not leave aside longer, more demanding private trips with his wife to world exhibitions and historical monuments in Italy (accompanied by Jiří Stibral) or to inspect the newly completed Alpine railways. As a representative of the self-confident Czech middle class, who already had free time and financial resources (and, of course, an overhead ticket), he was able to combine the obligation to travel with a passion for travel and perceived traveling as a necessary part of the active lifestyle of a modern person. Ing. Eduard Bazika (1830–1914) nebyl profesionální poutník, ale poutník z profese. Jako absolvent pražské polytechniky se celý život specializoval na železniční stavitelství a jako inženýr nejdříve státních drah a od roku 1855 až do odchodu na odpočinek v roce 1891 soukromé Společnosti státní dráhy (StEG) celý život procestoval, respektive před výstavbou prochodil svěřené železnice v české a moravské krajině. I po odchodu na penzi pracoval pro Zemský výbor Království českého a jeho Železniční výbor a v této pozici opět pracovně putoval po všech koutech Čech, aby posuzoval rentabilitu budoucích místních drah. Jeho zvláštností bylo, že se vždy snažil skloubit své cestovní povinnosti s rodinným životem, což mělo za následek, že jeho žena a děti putovaly s ním po nejrůznějších štacích a železničních stavbách. Stranou neponechával ani dlouhodobější náročnější soukromé cesty s manželkou na světové výstavy a po historických památkách Itálie (v doprovodu Jiřího Stibrala) či k obhlídce nově dokončených alpských železnicích. Jako představitel sebevědomé české střední třídy, která už disponovala volným časem a finančními prostředky (a samozřejmě režijní jízdenkou) dovedl skloubit cestovatelskou povinnost s cestovatelskou vášní a putování vnímal jako nezbytnou součást aktivního životního stylu moderního člověka. WATER-SOLUBLE COMPOUNDS PM2.5 AT THREE RURAL BACKGROUND SITES IN CENTRAL EUROPE DURING COLD AND WARM PERIODS

2023 - Czech Ion chromatography (IC) was used to characterize water soluble compounds in PM2.5 during winter and summer campaigns at three rural sites in Central Europe in 12-hour (day/night) time resolution. Concentrations of biomass combustion aerosolsdoubled from Melpitz to Košetice in winter, sea salt exhibited opposite behaviour. Summer exhibited higher sulphates and methane sulphonic acid in Melpitz. Day to night ratios showed higher day concentrations for phosphates and compounds connected to fungal spores and bacteria, while higher night concentrations were connected to wood combustion. Ventilation index was used as an approximate measure to distinguish local and long range transported aerosols. Biomass combustion products were identified as the \nmajority of local aerosols, while sea salt as long range transported one. Iontová chromatografie (IC) byla použita k charakterizaci ve vodě rozpustných sloučenin v PM2,5 během zimní a letní kampaně na třech venkovských lokalitách ve střední Evropě v časovém rozlišení 12 hodin (den/noc). Koncentrace aerosolů ze spalování biomasy se v zimě od Melpitzu po Košetice zdvojnásobily, mořská sůl vykazovala opačné chování. V létě byly v Melpitzu zjištěny vyšší hodnoty síranů a kyseliny metansulfonové. Poměr denních a nočních koncentrací vykazoval vyšší denní koncentrace fosforečnanů a sloučenin spojených se spórami hub a bakterií, zatímco vyšší noční koncentrace byly spojeny se spalováním dřeva. Jako přibližné měřítko pro rozlišení místních a dálkově přenášených aerosolů byl použit ventilační index. Produkty spalování biomasy byly identifikovány jako většina místních aerosolů, zatímco mořská sůl jako dálkově přenášený aerosol. Electrochemically Investigated pH-dependent Redox Properties of Copper Complexes of Azamacrocyclic Ligands

2023 - Czech Investigated Cu(II) complexes are based on plain or cross-bridged cyclam. The\nelectrochemically inactive cyclam was modified by carboxylate, phosphonate, or phenolate\npendant arms. Cu(II) represents the main redox center of the complexes. Modification of the\nligand causes a changed pattern of complex redox response in buffered aqueous solution.\nIrreversible Cu(II) reduction results in complex decomposition to amalgamated copper and\nligand in excess. After Cu(0) electrochemical in situ re-oxidation, copper and ligand are recomplexed.\nComplexes undergo isomerization, accelerated by increasing the temperature. The\ninfluence of pH on complex isomerization and the reversibility of its reduction was described. Molekulární elektronika je progresivní směr moderní materiálové chemie. Design precipitation in Czech river basins

2023 - Czech Data on rainfall intensity on the territory of the Czech Republic with a horizontal resolution of 1 km2 and a time step of 10 minutes, obtained by adjusting radar estimates with data from rain gauge stations, were used to derive design areal precipitation in the Czech river basins of 1st to 4th order and in the basins of surface water bodies. When the rainfall accumulation time is doubled, the design precipitation total in individual pixels increases by about 20% on average. The magnitude of the design totals decreases with increasing catchment area, especially for shorter accumulation periods. Data o srážkové intenzitě na území Česka s horizontálním rozlišením 1 km2 a časovým krokem 10 minut, získaná adjustací radarových odhadů daty ze srážkoměrných stanic, posloužila k odvození návrhových plošných srážek v českých povodích I. až IV. řádu a v povodích útvarů povrchových vod. Při zdvojnásobení doby akumulace srážky vzroste návrhový úhrn v jednotlivých pixelech v průměru o cca 20 %. S rostoucí plochou povodí velikost návrhových úhrnů klesá, a to především v případě kratších dob akumulace. Transformations in the Interpretation of Music Folklore: From the Protection of Everyday Culture to the Emergence of a Music Genre (Using the Czech Republic as a Case Study)

2023 - Czech From the 1960s onwards, efforts began to develop in Czech ethnology, which gradually began to include folklore manifestations in their second existence in professional research. The field of folklorism sometimes overlapped with the existence of folk traditions, sometimes built on them, and sometimes was only inspired by them to varying degrees. The distinction in such defined categories was not easy even in the past, and with the increasingly rapid development of society, it became blurred in the general consciousness. Within this scope, a contemporary broad music genre, music folklore, has emerged that is not easy to define in terms of content. In this paper, the authors outline its historical formation, show model moments of its development, and deal with its polyfunctionality: many collectives present themselves not only on stage (together with dancers) and in concert settings (independently), but also participate in local ethno-cultural traditions, dance parties, family celebrations (weddings, birthdays), and commercially focused events. To illustrate this, the paper uses archival source material, and field research based on interviews with selected musicians. Od 60. let 20. století se v české etnologii začaly rozvíjet snahy, které postupně začaly zařazovat projevy folkloru v jejich druhé existenci do odborného výzkumu. Oblast folklorismu se někdy překrývala s existujícími lidovými tradicemi, někdy na ně navazovala a někdy se jimi pouze v různé míře inspirovala. Rozlišení v takto vymezených kategoriích nebylo snadné ani v minulosti a s příchodem stále rychlejším vývojem společnosti se v obecném povědomí rozostřilo. V tomto rámci vznikl současný široký hudební žánr zakořeněný v hudebním folkloru, který není snadné obsahově vymezit. Příspěvek nastiňuje průběh jeho historického formování, ukazuje modelové momenty jeho vývoje a zabývá se jeho polyfunkčností: mnoho kolektivů se prezentuje nejen na jevišti (spolu s tanečníky) a v hudebních pořadech. koncertním prostředí (samostatně), podílí se ale také na místních etnokulturních tradicích, tanečních zábavách, rodinných oslavách (svatby, narozeniny) a komerčně zaměřených akcích. akce.
