A technology of growing strawberries in organic farming systems is presented in the methodology. The methodology is aimed at selecting the most suitable varieties of strawberry, previous crop influence, the influence of supplementary plant products and biofungicides on the yield of single varieties. It contains evaluation of health condition and fruiting characteristics of varieties. Yield potential of varieties and resistance to diseases were found in the most suitable varieties and technological processes for organic cultivation of strawberries were selected. The methodology for practice is a comprehensive guide for growing strawberries in organic production systems. V metodice je uvedena technologie pěstování jahod v systémech ekologického zemědělství. Metodika je zaměřena na výběr nejvhodnějších odrůd jahodníku, vliv předplodiny, vliv pomocných rostlinných přípravků a biofungicidů na výnos jednotlivých odrůd. Součástí je hodnocení zdravotního stavu a plodových znaků odrůd. Za sledované období je zaznamenán výnosový potenciál odrůd, odolnost k chorobám a jsou vybrány nejvhodnější odrůdy a technologické postupy pro ekologické pěstování jahod. Metodika pro praxi, je uceleným návodem pro pěstování jahod v ekologických pěstitelských systémech.

Methodology for monitoring of air contamination in the vicinity of public roads by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons on the basis of their analysis on the surface of tree leaves

The methodology deals with the monitoring of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and applies a natural system of sedimentation of pollutants in local vegetation. According to the obtained results is possible to evaluate which of the used woody plants have higher capability to extract harmful substances such as PAH from the air and therefore should be preferred as a vegetation cover. Metodika se zabývá monitoringem polycyklických aromatických uhlovodíků (PAH). Metodika využívá přirozeného systému usazování polutantů v místní vegetaci. Na základě získaných výsledků lze zhodnotit, které z použitých dřevin se vyznačují vyšší schopností extrahovat z ovzduší škodlivé substance typu PAH a které by tedy měly být při volbě vegetačního pokryvu preferovány.

APPUCATION OF A SHORT-TIME HYDROPONICS FOR SELECTION OF APPROPRIATE DECIDUOUS WOODY PLANTS SPECIES FOR REMEDIATION PURPOSES

A rapid trial of accumulation capacities for heavy metals Pb, Cd, and Cr of selected fast-growing deciduous woody plant species is presented. The Sorbus aucuparia, Populus tremula x P. tremuloides, Salix x blanda, S. viminalis, S. miyabeana, and S. elbursensiswere clonally micropropagated by induction of organogenesis. Samples of roots and aboveground parts from plantlets grown in aseptic conditions in agar semisolid substrate and hydroponics media supplemented by the heavy metal salts were taken at 2, 4, and 8 days of cultivation.The concentrations and distributions of the accumulated metals were determined using the ICP-OES method and verified by autoradiography. Practically, amounts of accumulated heavy metals increased linearly up to the end of the experiment and were higher in the roots than in aboveground parts in both, the agar cultures and hydroponics. It could be concluded that all tested species displayed a high efficacy of metal uptake and could represent prospective trees for phytoremediation of polluted soils. V České republice se nacházejí relativně rozsáhlé lokality kontaminované průmyslovým spadem, nebo se jedná o extenzivní výsypky a úložiště elektrárenských, důlních a čistírenských kalů, případně jiných odpadů, které obsahují toxické látky. K nejzávažnějším kontaminantům majícím přímý negativní dopad na zdraví náležejí ionty těžkých kovů, z nich především Pb, Cd a Cr. Dekontaminace těchto lokalit a jejich navrácení pro lesnické, zemědělské nebo krajinotvorné účely má proto stěžejní význam pro celkové ozdravení životního prostředí. Jako nejefektivnější způsob dekontaminace půd in situ se nabízí fytoremediace, využití rostlin s význačnou schopností translokovat kontaminující látky z půdy a akumulovat je ve svých pletivech. Optimální jak z hlediska ekonomického, tak dekontaminační efektivity se jeví využití rychlerostoucích listnatých dřevin, které zároveň vykazují vysokou schopnost akumulace těžkých kovů ve svých pletivech. Nejvíce byly doposud studovány různé druhy vrb (Salix spp.), které tyto požadavky splňují a navíc vytvářejí křovinné porosty, takže v relativně krátké době mohou pokrýt i rozsáhlejší plochy nutričně méně hodnotných půd charakteristických právě pro výsypky a odkaliště, na nichž se jen těžko uchycují jiné druhy dřevin, viz foto 1. Tam, kde je zapotřebí udržet půdní reliéf (zábrana eroze a snosu půd) a zachovat hydrologické poměry (pokles podzemních vodních zásob), se jako nejvhodnější ukázaly hluboko kořenící dřeviny zejména rodu Populus spp. Remediační vlastnosti byly studovány u jeřábu ptačího (Sorbus aucuparia) a kanadského topolu osikovitého (Populus tremula x P. tremuloides) úspěšně rostoucích na imisně zatížených půdách v Krušných horách a dále u stromových vrb Salix x blanda a S. viminalis a keřových vrb S. miyabeana a S. elbursensis z elektrárenského odkaliště ve Vysočanech na Chomutovsku.
