2023 - English
Bylo provedeno srovnání vlivu různých tomografických artefaktů na výsledný rozklad materiálu Computed tomography is a non-destructive method for imaging internal structures of samples. It is mainly used in medicine, but also in industry or scientific fields. Spectral computed tomography is also commonly used in medicine, which allows the differentiation of materials based on their attenuation properties, which are dependent on the energy of the X-rays. This approach is also beginning to appear in industrial applications. This thesis deals with dual-energy computed tomography, which is a specific form of spectral tomography using two different X-ray spectra. Material differentiation, or decomposition, can be performed either on projection data or on their reconstructions. The output are images containing information about the concentrations of individual materials found in the scanned volume. In addition to the concentrations, the atomic numbers and densities of these materials can also be determined. In this thesis, a basic method of material decomposition was implemented, the outputs of which serve as initial guesses in a series of iterative algorithms that perform the decomposition. A method has also been implemented that reduces noise in decomposed images whose values are highly correlated. The algorithms were tested on artificial data, but also on real data scanned by the Rigaku Nano3DX device. A comparison of the effect of various tomographic artifacts on the resulting material decomposition was made. Vývoj a výroba grafenových Hallových sond

2023 - English
Pokrok v inženýrství a technologiích vytvořil zájem o stabilní detektory magnetického pole schopné operovat v širokém rozsahu teplot. Advances in engineering and technology have created a demand for stable magnetic field detectors that are able to operate over a wide range of temperatures. At present, sensors based on the Hall effect and giant magnetoresistance effect are the most commonly used devices for real-time non-invasive measurement of both static and dynamic magnetic fields. Example applications of Hall effect-based devices include linear magnetic field sensors, gyrators, speed and directional sensors, electrical compasses, and current sensors, in areas ranging from manufacturing, automotive and aerospace to communication systems. However, currently used materials in Hall probes (mainly III-V semiconductors such as InSb or GaAs) struggle with temperature stability. In this study, we address the fabrication of Hall probes based on graphene and their testing at elevated temperatures. We successfully produce graphene Hall probes in a field effect transistor (FET) arrangement using standard fabrication techniques such as lithography and thin layer deposition. The choice of \acs{FET} architecture allows us to take full advantage of the outstanding electronic properties of graphene during testing of the Hall probes from room temperature up to 200°C. Our results reveal that increasing temperature does not cause significant degradation in the performance of graphene Hall probes even at temperatures above 150°C. This work paves the way for future investigations into the behaviour of graphene Hall probes at elevated temperatures, focusing on understanding the external factors that influence and impact the performance of the sensor in ambient conditions. 2023 - English
Implementace těchto nových metod má potenciál produkovat efektivním způsobem přesnější, flexibilnější a interpretovatelné výsledky, které mohou pomoci posunout výzkum v reálných aplikacích v různých oblastech. This thesis focuses on boundary issues in the decomposition of signals. Classical methods boundary issues have been studied extensively, but a new generation of methods has been introduced in the last couple of decades. The implementation of these novel methods has the potential to produce in an efficient way more accurate, flexible, and interpretable results, which can help advance research in real-life applications in various fields. Boundary issues for these techniques have been studied only recently. The results published so far shows that these methods have limitations and assumptions that need to be carefully considered to avoid potential misuse. In this study, we pinpoint and tackle the major obstacles associated with the use these new methods, and the recommendations on how to utilize them most effectively is also provided. To further illustrate the potential consequences of improper usage, we undertake a comprehensive examination of their application to actual data and carry out numerical simulations. Lastly, we propose a set of best practices for optimizing the performance of these techniques in the context of signal decomposition. A crucial suggestion is to employ, before applying any decomposition method, a signal extension technique as a means of mitigating boundary effects. The Master thesis examines alternative approaches to e-mail. While it is the most common and universal approach to communicate with nearly anyone online, be it a person or an organization, it suffers from both technical and practical insufficiencies like the lack of reliability and privacy. The thesis evaluates the e-mail ecosystem and the current state of cryptography. It proposes a new protocol and file format that could replace the e-mail nearly transparently. The protocol is built on mTLS and PKI; it defines specific messages that can be used to negotiate data transfer between clients and servers. The file format is a linearly parseable custom binary format structured in a header–length–data manner. The result is evaluated on new ideas and new drawbacks, along with general thoughts about e-mail’s place on today’s internet. The city of Brno is the capital of Moravia in the Czech Republic which was shaped by many historical events, its predominant textile industry was amongst the most important aspects of these criteria, since its main rivers cut through the city (Svratka, Svitava), this industry and its trade, was a main factor in shaping the city as a whole, alongside political conflicts, change of regimes. During the 1960s, after the planned style economy was settled completely, it resulted in big setbacks for the Czechoslovak economy, as the textile industry started to crumble. The final blow to this industry happened after the velvet revolution as privatization took place and most remaining factories were dismantled. This narrative had a big role in shaping how Brno looks today as the northern part of the city is more urbanized than the southern part which is more industrialized by nature, and unlike Prague, these two main rivers are not widely crucial to the public life. This also developed along with other factors a major problem with accommodation quality, price as official data reports increasing dissatisfaction from inhabitants with housing.
