This bachelor thesis is dedicated to Hawkes process. It is divided into six chapters. Chapter one consists of an introduction into the theory of random processes and a de- scription of Poisson process, the second chapter is dedicated to the definition of Hawkes process and its properties. The third chapter contains simmulation methods of the Haw- kes process. Chapter four further describes the Hawkes process parameter estimation and the fifth chapter consists of model goodness of fit testing for observed data. Lastly, the sixth chapter contains practical example of fitting the Hawkes model for real data and a descrition of R package hawkesbow used. 1 Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje Hawkesovu procesu. Práce je rozdělena do šesti ka- pitol, první kapitola obsahuje úvod do teorie náhodných procesů a popis Poissonova procesu, druhá se zabývá definicí Hawkesova procesu a jeho vlastností. Třetí kapitola obsahuje simulační metody Hawkesova procesu. Dále čtvrtá kapitola popisuje odhad pa- rametrů Hawkesova procesu s odvozením jeho věrohodnostní funkce a pátá kapitola se zabývá testováním dobré shody modelu a pozorovaných dat. Poslední šestá kapitola ob- sahuje praktickou ukázku fitování Hawkesova modelu na reálná data a popis používaného R balíčku hawkesbow. 1

The thesis explores Ṭariq Ramaḍan, a significant Muslim intellectual primarily active in Europe, where he has long been engaged in the issues of Islam in European context. His erudition, charisma, and earned reputation as a mediator between Islam and secularism have brought him great social and academic influence but have also allowed him to actively participate within the sphere of European politics. However, on a global scale, Ramaḍan is a controversial figure, with his critics pointing out that he presents rather inconsistent opinions and adjusts his discourse based on his current audience whereby trying to appeal to both Muslims and non-Muslims, which raises doubts about his true beliefs and intentions. Through content analysis of his official website, the student has examined and compared Ramaḍan's statements in Arabic and English, representing his discourse towards both Muslim and non- Muslim audiences. The focus was laid on the most controversial topics, namely stoning and the role of women in society. The analysis has revealed that Ramaḍan's statements in Arabic and English are indeed inconsistent. In the conclusion, the student proposes possible reasons and intentions for Ramaḍan's choice of inconsistent discourse, drawing from knowledge about Ramaḍan's background but also the... Práca pojednáva o Ṭāriqovi Ramaḍānovi, významnom muslimskom intelektuálovi, ktorý pôsobí hlavne v Európe, kde sa dlhodobo zaoberá problematikou islamu v Európe. Jeho erudícia, charizma a povesť prostredníka medzi islamom a sekularizmom mu umožnili pôsobiť, okrem sféry spoločenskej a akademickej, aj na úrovni európskej politiky. Ramaḍān je však v globálnom merítku kontroverznou osobnosťou a jeho kritici upozorňujú na to, že jeho názory nie sú jednotné a svoj diskurz prispôsobuje svojmu publiku v snahe osloviť európskych muslimov aj nemuslimov čo vyvoláva otázky o jeho skutočných názoroch a zámeroch. Obsahovou analýzou jeho oficiálnej internetovej stránky študentka priblížila a porovnala Ramaḍānove vyjadrenia v arabčine a angličtine, ktoré reprezentujú jeho diskurz voči muslimskému a nemuslimskému publiku. Zamerala sa na najviac kontroverzné témy, a to kameňovanie a postavenie žien v spoločnosti. Analýzou bolo zistené, že Ramaḍānove vyjadrenia v arabčine a angličtine skutočne nie sú jednotné. V závere práce študentka navrhuje možné dôvody a zámery, pre ktoré volí Ramaḍān nejednotný diskurz, pričom vychádza zo znalostí pozadia Ramaḍānovho života ale aj zo znalostí islamu, ktorý, podľa nej, hrá v tejto problematike kľúčovú rolu. This bachelor thesis is a theoretical analysis of the TV series Hannibal, which was broadcasted on American television NBC from 2013 to 2015. Hannibal has gained a dedicated fandom coming up with various interpretations and theories, but it also got the attention of academic scholars from various disciplines. It has become popular for its queer-coded characters, including the main characters Hannibal and Will, despite the fact, that their relationship had never been explicitly depicted as romantic or sexual. Later in the story, the respected psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter is revealed as a serial killer and a cannibal. Hannibal could be considered a stereotypical sadistic psychopath, who only sees his victims as pigs. Nevertheless, I will analyse his relationship with Will through the prism of the masochistic world, and I will argue why. The aim of this paper is not creating a psychological profile either of Hannibal or Will, nor answering the question whether one of them is a sadist or a masochist. Instead, I am focusing on the development of the relationship dynamics between Will and Hannibal, while framing it within masochistic narrative and formal structure and queer theories. Táto bakalárska práca je teoretickou analýzou televízneho seriálu Hannibal, vysielaného na americkej stanici NBC v rokoch 2013-2015. Hannibal si okolo seba získal dedikovanú skupinu fanúšikov prichádzajúcich s rôznymi interpretáciami a teóriami, ale zaujal aj nemálo akademikov z rôznych odborov. Obľúbeným sa stal pre svoje queer kódované postavy, vrátane hlavných postáv Hannibala a Willa, napriek tomu, že sa v seriáli ich vzťah v žiadnom momente nestal explicitne sexuálnym. Uznávaný psychiater Hannibal Lecter je neskôr v príbehu odhalený ako sériový vrah a kanibal. Hannibal by na prvý pohľad mohol spĺňať stereotyp sadistického psychopata, ktorý vidí svoje obete len ako prasatá. Ja však budem v mojej práci analyzovať jeho vzťah s Willom cez prizmu masochistického sveta, a pokúsim sa objasniť, prečo. Cieľom tejto práce nie je vytvárať psychologický profil Hannibala či Willa ani odpovedať na otázku, či je niektorý z nich sadistom alebo masochistom. Namiesto toho sa v nej zameriavam na vývoj dynamiky ich vzťahu, ktorý rámcujem masochistickou naratívnou a formálnou štruktúrou a queer teóriami. This thesis is a case study focusing on field social workers in marginalized Roma communities in Slovakia, their work and target group. The aim of the thesis is to identify mechanisms to combat generational poverty among Roma in Slovakia. The research question is: "What tools do field social workers use to combat poverty among Roma from marginalized Roma communities (MRC) in Slovakia and what tools do they use with a similar target group abroad?" The qualitative research was carried out in the form of structured in-depth interviews with six fieldworkers working with Roma from the MRC in different regions of Slovakia. Three social workers were employed under non-profit organizations, three under a national project. Hypothesis 1: State support in the fight against poverty is insufficient, therefore the third sector helps to fight poverty. Hypothesis 2: Non-profit organisations have their own mechanisms that they use when working with clients to help them move out of generational poverty. Hypothesis 3: Roma are unable to integrate into mainstream society due to living in generational poverty, which is the same in different excluded communities around the world. Táto práca je prípadovou štúdiou so zameraním na terénnych sociálnych pracovníkov v marginalizovaných rómskych komunitách na Slovensku, na ich prácu a cieľovú skupinu. Cieľom práce je zistiť mechanizmy na boj s generačnou chudobou Rómov na Slovensku. Výskumná otázka je: "Aké nástroje požívajú terénni sociálni pracovníci na boj s chudobou u Rómov z marginalizovaných rómskych komunít (MRK) na Slovensku a aké u obdobnej cieľovej skupiny v zahraničí?" Kvalitatívny výskum bol zrealizovaný formou štruktúrovaných hĺbkových rozhovorov so šiestimi terénnymi pracovníkmi, ktorí pracujú s Rómami z MRK v rôznych regiónoch na Slovensku. Traja sociálni pracovníci boli zamestnaní pod neziskovými organizáciami, traja pod národným projektom. Kvalitatívnym výskumom mali byť potvrdené alebo vyvrátené tieto hypotézy: Hypotéza 1: podpora štátu v boji s chudobou je nedostatočná, s bojom proti chudobe preto pomáha tretí sektor. The diploma thesis deals with the interpretation of modern Korean history in Korean film production of the 21st century and its influence by the current domestic political and social situation. The analysis is focused on portraying three historically traumatic periods of Korean history - the Japanese occupation (1910-1945), the division of the Korean nation (1948-present) and the path to democratization of the country (70-80s of the 20th century). The aim of the thesis is to show how Korean films reflect given historical events and how they influence their interpretation in the 21st century. The first part of the thesis will be devoted to the definition of the relationship between history, film and politics with a specific focus on the Republic of Korea. The second part of the thesis will be focused on the three historical events already mentioned, it will introduce the reader to the historical background and elements of the controversy with an impact on the 21st century. The third part of the work focuses on the depiction of these events in Korean film production. The main goal is to illustrate new trends in the interpretation of individual events and compare them with the so-called official interpretations as presented in Korean school history textbooks. Diplomová práce sa zoberá interpretáciou moderných kórejských dejín v kórejskej filmovej tvorbe 21. storočia a jej ovplyvnením súčasnou domácou politickou a spoločenskou situáciou. Analýza je zamarená na vyobrazenie troch historicky traumatizujúcich období kórejských dejín - japonskú okupáciu (1910-1945), rozdelenie kórejského národa (1948 - súčasnosť) a cestu k demokratizácii krajiny (70-80.roky 20. storočia). Cieľom práce je priblížiť, akým spôsobom kórejské filmy reflektujú dané historické udalosti, ako ovplyvňujú ich výklad v 21. storočí. Prvá časť práce bude venovaná vymedzeniu vzťahu medzi históriou, filmom a politikou s konkrétnym zameraním na Kórejskú republiku. The bachelor thesis is the first in-depth exploration of the hitherto unexamined activities of the first Slovak Ladies' Chamber Orchestra (1969-2013). The thesis delves into the personal stories of the female musicians, the orchestra's activities, and its evolution over the years within the framework of musical life and gender politics in Slovakia. This contextualization serves to elucidate the orchestra's activities. The research relies on interviews conducted with Elena Šarayová-Kováčová (1943), the first professional Slovak female conductor and founder of the orchestra, ten members of the orchestra, and information extracted from the surviving chronicles. The study adopts the methodology of oral history and draws on a feminist-informed historiography of contemporary music history. Although they were professional musicians who had studied their instruments at conservatories and earned a living in symphony orchestras, the Ladies' Chamber Orchestra never became a full-time occupation for them and was not always perceived as a professional orchestra. Nevertheless, my research indicates a significant improvement in the status of women in classical music during their tenure. The thesis contributes to the ongoing research regarding the involvement and role of women in musical life in Slovakia,... Bakalárska práca je prvou sondou do doposiaľ odborne nereflektovanej činnosti prvého slovenského Dámskeho komorného orchestra (1969-2013). V práci sú predstavené osobné príbehy hudobníčok, pôsobenie orchestra a jeho vývoj v priebehu rokov v kontexte fungovania hudobného života a rodových politík na Slovensku, ktoré ich činnosť zároveň vysvetľujú. Východiskom práce sú rozhovory s prvou profesionálnou slovenskou dirigentkou a zakladateľkou orchestra, Elenou Šarayovou-Kováčovou (1943), desiatimi členkami orchestra a práca taktiež vychádza z informácii z dochovaných kroník. Opiera sa o metodológiu orálnej histórie a o feministicky poučenú historiografiu súčasných hudobných dejín. Napriek tomu, že sa jednalo o profesionálne hudobníčky, ktoré hru na nástroj vyštudovali a pôsobenie v symfonických orchestroch ich živilo, DKO sa pre nich nikdy nestal plnohodnotným zamestnaním a nebol vždy vnímaný ako profesionálny orchester. Z výskumu tiež vyplýva, že postavenie žien v klasickej hudbe sa počas ich pôsobenia zásadne zlepšilo. Práca je príspevkom k diskurzu o participácii a úlohe žien v hudobnom živote na Slovensku, poťažmo v tzv. východnom bloku v období štátneho socializmu a po nežnej revolúcii. The right to participate as part of the European protection of national minorities Abstract This thesis provides an insight into the subject of the right of national minorities to effective participation, especially in the light of the European regional level of minority rights regulation. The main goal of the work is to define the specific means and procedures whereby states can ensure the effective participation of persons belonging to national minorities in various areas of public life. The Council of Europe's Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities serves as the focal point of the work, as it so far contains the only legally binding provision at European level guaranteeing minorities the right to effective participation. The thesis itself is divided into four chapters. The initial chapter of the work provides an overview of the right to effective participation in a general sense in the context of international protection of human rights. In the second chapter the author scrutinizes the position of the right to effective participation in documents on minority protection at universal and regional level, as well as in other international conventions that may be relevant in this regard. The following chapters of the work focus predominantly on the abovementioned Framework Convention.... Právo na participáciu ako súčasť európskej ochrany národnostných menšín Abstrakt Diplomová práca sa zaoberá problematikou práva národnostných menšín na efektívnu participáciu, predovšetkým vo svetle európskej regionálnej úpravy menšinového práva. Hlavným cieľom práce je vymedziť, akými konkrétnymi postupmi a prostriedkami môžu štáty zabezpečiť účinnú účasť menšinových príslušníkov v rôznych oblastiach spoločenského života. Ústredné postavenie v rámci práce zaujíma Rámcový dohovor na ochranu národnostných menšín, prijatý na pôde Rady Európy, ktorý obsahuje dodnes jediné právne záväzné ustanovenie garantujúce menšinám právo na účinnú účasť na európskej úrovni. Samotná práca je rozdelená na štyri časti. Úvodná časť práce poskytuje pohľad na participačné právo vo všeobecnom zmysle v kontexte medzinárodnej ochrany ľudských práv. The aim of this thesis is to analyse selected autobiographical works written by Indian trans* authors, namely A. Revathi: The Truth about Me: A Hijra Life Story, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi: Me Hijra, Me Laxmi and Living Smile Vidya: I am Vidya: A Transgender's Journey. The first part of the thesis will provide a broader perspective on trans* identity issues, including an introduction to the terminology and history. This will be followed by a section relating it to the context of the Indian subcontinent, within which the phenomenon of the hijra as a specific trans* community of the region will be largely addressed. The second part will deal with autobiographical writing. After introducing the subject and presenting the history of the genre as well as the history of its criticism, the focus will be directed towards the literary genre of autobiography as a tool of self-determination, as a means of asserting one's own identity, of gaining agency and a legitimate place in society, and other ways in which it has been used by marginalised authors. This theoretical background will be the basis for the third part of the thesis, that is, the actual analysis of the autobiographical narratives. Cieľom diplomovej práce je analýza vybraných autobiografických diel z pera indických trans* autoriek, a to A. Revathi: The Truth about Me. A Hijra Life Story, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi: Me Hijra, Me Laxmi a Living Smile Vidya: I am Vidya. A Transgender's Journey. V prvej časti práce bude poskytnutý širší pohľad na problematiku trans* identity vrátane úvodu do terminológie a histórie. Nadväzovať bude prepojenie s kontextom Indického subkontinentu, v rámci ktorého bude pozornosť venovaná do veľkej miery fenoménu hidžier ako špecifickej trans* komunity tohto regiónu. Druhá časť sa bude zaoberať autobiografickým písaním. Po uvedení do problematiky a predstavení histórie žánru ako i histórie jeho kritiky bude pozornosť zameraná na literárny žáner autobiografie ako nástroj sebaurčenia, ako prostriedok upevňovania vlastnej identity, získavania legitímneho miesta v spoločnosti a ďalšie spôsoby jeho využitia marginalizovanými autorkami a autormi. Na tomto teoretickom základe bude stáť tretia časť práce, totiž vlastná analýza uvedených autobiografických naratívov. Prostredníctvom vybraných oblastí analýzy bude skúmať zvolené autorské stratégie, vývoj identity v naratíve a potenciál autobiografie ako nástroja politického aktivizmu.

O prostoru fyzickém a symbolickém: Případ Domu odborov Istropolis v Bratislavě

English title: About physical and symbolic space: The case of the Istropolis Trade Union House in Bratislava Abstract: If the space of the city is socially produced, it can be argued that at a symbolic level it represents the social environment in a given territory and at a given time (Lefebvre, 1991). In this respect, it should therefore be true that if society's views, dominant narratives or discourse change, the physical form of the city also changes and vice versa. Is this the reason why Bratislava's Istropolis had to be demolished? This thesis examines the accuracy of these assumptions in the case of socialist modernism in the architecture of the post-communist region, specifically using the example of the Istropolis building in Bratislava. Although socialist modernist buildings are architecturally valuable, they are often considered ugly or even demolished as undesirable. What are the dynamics that lead to such discourse and action? Are such buildings really "ugly" and undesirable? If so, why? What role does ideology play in this perception? Ak je priestor mesta spoločensky vytváraný, možno tvrdiť, že na symbolickej úrovni predstavuje spoločenské prostredie na danom území a v danom čase (Lefebvre, 1991). V tomto ohľade by teda malo platiť, že ak sa zmenia názory spoločnosti, dominantné naratívy alebo diskurz, zmení sa aj fyzická podoba mesta a naopak. Je práve toto dôvod pre ktorý musel byť aj bratislavský Istropolis zbúraný? Táto práca preskúmava správnosť týchto predpokladov v prípade socialistického modernizmu v architektúre postkomunistického regiónu, konkrétne na príklade budovy Istropolisu v Bratislave. Public Abstract: In the current era, characterized by an overwhelming volume of information and data in organizations, effective knowledge management is indispensable. The advancement of technology has elevated the management and security of these systems to a high standard, facilitated by a plethora of programs designed to enable these processes. However, they differ in environment, functions and price. The theoretical part of the work focuses on summarizing knowledge in the field of knowledge management, its history, organization, management itself, knowledge and information in the organization with the application of knowledge management. The analytical part focuses on the comparison of two selected programs, SharePoint and Confluence. A comparison of the given programs showed differences in access to knowledge, its processing and flexibility. The analytical part also contains a comparison of the results of the questionnaire filled out by 71 respondents who work with the given programs. It was found that both programs were rated about the same. Based on the results, it is possible to confirm that the programs intended for knowledge management are at approximately the same level for an ordinary user. Public Abstrakt Manažment znalostí je v súčasnej dobe plnej množstva informácií a dát v organizáciách veľmi potrebný. Vďaka rozvoju technológií je ich správa a bezpečnosť na vysokej úrovni, pričom existuje veľké množstvo programov, ktoré dané procesy umožňujú. Líšia sa však prostredím, funkciami a cenou. Teoretická časť práce sa zameriava na sumarizovanie poznatkov v oblasti znalostného manažmentu, jeho históriu, organizáciu, samotný manažment, znalosti a tok informácií v organizácii s uplatnením znalostného manažmentu. Analytická časť sa zameriava na porovnanie dvoch vybraných programov, SharePoint a Confluence. Porovnanie daných programov ukázalo rozdiely v prístupe ku znalostiam, ich spracovaniu a flexibilite. Analytická časť obsahuje aj porovnanie výsledkov dotazníka, ktorý bol vypĺňaný 71 respondentmi, ktorí s danými programami pracujú. Zistilo sa, že oba programy boli hodnotené približne rovnako. Na základe výsledkov je možné tvrdiť, že programy určené na znalostný manažment sú na približne rovnakej úrovni pre bežného užívateľa.
