2008 - Russian The thesis concentrates on the life and work of Nikolai Lvovich Okunev (1885- 1949), an important historian of art and representative of Medieval studies, Professor at Charles University in Prague. His research work, that already began during his studies at the University in Saint Petersburg, meant an important contribution to studies in the field of Old Russian, Byzantine and Medieval Armenian Art and Architecture. After he had left his native country for political reasons, he was living in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in 1920-1923, then in 1923-1949 in Czechoslovakia. For more than 20 years he lectured at Charles University in Prague where he educated a number of disciples. He was a member of the Institute of Slavonic Studies, a founder of the Archive and Gallery of the Slavonic art atttached to the Institute, an editor of the scientific journal Byzantinoslavica. His works published during the emigration were devoted especially to Medieval monuments in Serbia and Macedonia. Okunev's research work and his cultural involvement are presented in the thesis in the wide context of research activities of different institutions (Russian Archaeological Institute in Constantinople, University of Saint Petersburg, Charles University, Institute of Slavonic Studies and the Slavonic Library in Prague),... Disertace je věnována životu a dílu profesora Karlovy univerzity v Praze Nikolaje Lvoviče Okuněva (1885-1949), významného historika umění, představitele světové medievistiky. Jeho vědecká činnost, započatá již době studií na Petrohradské univerzitě, hrála důležitou roli v oblasti studia staroruského, byzantského a středověkého arménského umění a architektury. Poté, co N. L. Okuněv z politických důvodů opustil svou vlast, žil v letech 1920-1923 v Království Srbů, Chorvatů a Slovinců, od r. 1923 do r. 1949 pak v Československu. Více než 20 let přednášel na pražské Karlově univerzitě, kde vychoval řadu žáků. Byl členem Slovanského ústavu, redaktorem vědeckého časopisu Byzantinoslavica, zakladatelem Archivu a galerie slovanského umění při Slovanském ústavu. Jeho práce, napsané v období emIgrace, se týkaly převážně středověkých památek nacházejících se na území Srbska a Makedonie. 2007 - Russian This work deals with the literaturary project "B. Akunin", which was defined by it's creator G. Chkhartishvili as a "quality literature for the mass reader". When they wish to characterise the project, critics emphasize the use of an adventure plot combined with interesting style and intertextual play. We see a tendency to place the project in the "middle level", which in their hierarchy is somewhere between the literature created for the "happy few" and consumer fiction. However convergence of mass and elite culture is too general a trend in postmodernist literary strategy to be sufficiently characteristic of a concrete author. Our research covers all the texts published to the present day under the names of both G. Chkhartishvili and B. Akunin. It was the part of the extratextual strategy of the author to construct an image of himself as a writer of serious, almost scientific prose, who began to write detective stories for his own and his readers' enjoyment. The author generally uses mass clichés whenever he describes his heroes and action scenes in the story. He uses a great many simple references to the other literaturary works in his texts which should be understandable by every reader. At the same time we find other, more complicated references requiring knowledge of a wider literary "encyclopedia"....
