Jelínková, Petra; Tichá, M.; Jonáková, Věra
2003 - English
Seminal plasma of different mammalian species contains various types of proteins. Proteinase inhibitors are important components of seminal plasma and were found in all tested species. In the present communication we have shown that serine proteinase inhibitors participate (under physiological conditions) in the formation of associated complexes with other proteins from boar seminal plasma. Keywords: boar seminal plasma proteins; proteinase inhibitors Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Study of sperm proteins in modelspecies of chondrostean and teleostean fish
Koubek, Pavel; Elzeinová, Fatima; Linhart, O.; Pěknicová, Jana
2003 - English
Specific in the study of fish reproduction is outer fertilization. spermatozoa are usually expelled into host medium of the outer encironment. The cells have to cope with an extremely different encironment and their protection against the outer environment is much weaker than that of oocytes. The way of fertilization also differs from mammalian fertilization. Keywords: cyprinus; carpio; acipenser Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Dynamic and role of cytosekeletal proteins in mammalian sperm cells
Paleček, J.; Dvořáková, K.; Pěknicová, Jana; Kubátová, Alena; Moore, H. D. M.
2003 - English
The cytoskeleton of sperm head consists of resistant structural proteins of the nucleus and of perinuclear theca, which are largely rosponsible for the shaping of the nucleus. three mahjor cyteskeletal proteins, actin, tzubnulin and spectrin, are present in the head of mammalian spermatohzoa. Maoreober, the mictotubular cytoskeleton also contains other dynamic proteins, which have a morphological function within the cell and which are responsible for cell signalling processes. Keywords: cytoskeleton; spermatozoa Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Iscare IVF a.s. had a long record of successful azoospermic treatment since 1997, when the first pregnancies by MESA a TESE were published in the Czech republic. A series of diferent implanted laboratory techniques supported good results from last year. The medical problem is solved during the other field of application-histlogical findings and immunofluorescent methods. Keywords: MESA; azoospermia; TESE Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Regulation and localization of sperm akaps during capacitation, activation, induced acrosomal reaction and binding to the oocyte
Kyselová, Vendula; Pěknicová, Jana
2003 - English
Recent evidence suggests that the cAMP-dependent protein kinase A (PKA) is localized to specific subcellulatr compatrments trought association with A Kinase Anchoring Proteins (AKAPs). The AKAPs now represent a functionally related family of regulatory proteins containing a conserved PKA binding domain and a unique targeting sequence that direct the PKA-AKAP complex to subcellular structures. Keywords: akap; acrosome Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Hodnocení kvality krystalových struktur makromolekul
Řezáčová, Pavlína
2003 - Czech
X-ray crystallography is the main technique of macromolecular structure determination. Typical problems of protein crystallography diffraction data measured at limited resolution and inaccurate phase informacion adversely affect the quality of electron density maps and consequently the quality of the final model. Currently, there are many methods of protein quality validation. These can be subdivided into two main groups The first group assesses the model quality by evaluating the agreement of the model with the diffraction data. The second group of structure validation methods is based on comparison of the macromolecular model geometrical parameters with standards values derived from the crystal structures of small molecules or high-resolution macromolecular structures. This work is focused on introduction to widely used macromolecular structure-validation software. The main global quality criteria and reliable indicators for detecting local errors are summarized. Keywords: protein crystallography; validation; stereochemistry Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Zpracování difrakčních dat krystalů biologických makromolekul získaných oscilační metodou
Brynda, Jiří
2003 - Czech
The components of monochromatic diffractometer suitable for data collection on crystals of biological macromolecules are described, as well as basics of rotation method. The optimal strategy for collecting X-ray diffraction data from macromolecular crystals is discussed. The geometric factors influencing the completeness of data are arising from the symmetry of the reciprocal lattice and from the experimental setup; they affect quantitatively the completeness of the measured set of reflections. Keywords: X-ray data collection, rotation method, X-ray diffractometer Available at various institutes of the ASCR
