Cosmology on Small Scales 2020: Excessive extrapolations and selected controversies in cosmology
Křížek, Michal; Dumin, Y. V.
2020 - anglický
According to the modern cosmological paradigm, about 2/3 of the energy of the Universe is in dark form and about 5/6 of the matter is invisible. However, numerous recent independent attempts to detect dark-matter particles failed, and a number of other problems with the existence of dark energy and dark matter (such as the anomalous friction in the dark-matter halos of galaxies) become now more and more obvious. All these problems raise the question if the 'dark' substance is merely a result of the use of erroneous assumptions or incorrect models based e.g. on excessive extrapolations. Consequently, it is timely to gather specialists from various branches of astronomy and astrophysics to discuss these questions. Smart countryside for the 21st century
Zapletalová, Jana; Vaishar, Antonín
2020 - anglický
The 7th Moravian Conference on Rural Research EURORURAL takes place in the summer of 2020. The period of preparation and holding of the conference was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which decisively reduced international travel. However, as we did not want to break the developed tradition, we decided to organize the conference online. At the same time, we hoped that this opportunity would allow the participation of colleagues who could not attend our conference personally due to collisions with other events, health, financial causes and other reasons. On the other hand, we were aware that we are entering a little-explored terrain and our intentions would not reach widely the international professional public\nReceived contributions cover various topics of rural development. Their spectrum reflects the current problems of European rural development. We already look forward to receiving some elaborated papers for their eventual publication in the European Countryside.\n Klíčová slova: European countryside; rural space; rural development Dokument je dostupný na externích webových stránkách.

Proceedings of the 22nd Czech-Japan Seminar on Data Analysis and Decision Making
Inuiguchi, M.; Jiroušek, Radim; Kratochvíl, Václav
2019 - anglický
The history of the series of the Czech-Japan seminars started in 1999. Thus, it is now more than 20 years ago when the first Czech-Japan Seminar on Data Analysis and Decision Making under Uncertainty was held in JAIST, Hokuriku. Since that time, these seminars were held in eleven splendid places in Japan, offering the Czech participants possibility to discover different parts of the Japanese islands. In reciprocity, it was the goal of the Czech partners organizing the past ten seminars to show the beauty of Czechia to Japanese colleagues, who, during the long Japan–Czech cooperation, became our close friends. This is also why the seminar has never visited one place two times. Klíčová slova: Decision Making; Data Analysis; Uncertainty Dokument je dostupný na externích webových stránkách.

Mathematical modelling and computational methods in applied sciences and engineering - Modelling 2019
Blaheta, Radim; Starý, Jiří; Sysala, Stanislav
2019 - anglický
Modelling 2019 is an international conference on Mathematical Modelling and Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering held in\nOlomouc, Czech Republic, in September 16 - 20, 2019. It aims to be a forum for an exchange of ideas, insights and experiences in different areas\nof mathematical modelling. It includes the fundamental formulation and analysis of mathematical models, the development of numerical methods and exploitation of capabilities of the contemporary high-performance computers or applications of mathematical modelling.\nThis conference belongs to a series of conferences previously held in Roznov in 2014 and 2009, in Pilsen in 2005 and 2001, and in Prague in 1998 and 1994. During the period of 25 years, the focus of the conference has been substantially enlarged. Besides the topics aiming at the development\nof numerical methods and analysis of mathematical models described by the partial differential equations, the conference relates to the inverse\nproblems, quantification of uncertainties in the input data, machine learning and exploitation of high-performance computing systems of petaflops and pre-exaflops performance. Increased attention is devoted to challenging industrial problems and collaboration with industry. Klíčová slova: modelling; inverse problems; numerical methods; partial differential equations Plné texty jsou dostupné na jednotlivých ústavech Akademie věd ČR.

SNA´19 - Seminar on numerical analysis.
Blaheta, Radim; Starý, Jiří; Sysalová, Dagmar
2019 - anglický
Seminar on Numerical Analysis 2017 (SNA'17) is a continuation in a series of SNA events held\nin different places in the Czech Republic and organized alternatively by Ostrava and Prague\ninstitutions. The SNA'17 is organized by the Institute of Geonics of the CAS in collaboration with\nVŠB - Technical University of Ostrava and IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Centre.\nConference location is one of the lecture rooms in New Aula of the VŠB-TU Ostrava.\nLet us note that SNA 2016 was reshaped to EMS School in Applied Mathematics (ESSAM)\ndevoted to mathematical modelling, numerical analysis and scientiffc computing. The SNA'17\nis turning back to more traditional winter event.\nIt provides opportunity for meeting and mutual information of the community working in computational\nmathematics and computer science, but an important part of SNA is devoted to the\nWinter School with tutorial lectures focused on selected important topics within the scope of\nnumerical methods and modelling.\nThis year, a part of the Winter School will be the course Parallel Linear Algebra (PLA) organized\nby the European research infrastructure PRACE, particularly by the French PRACE Advanced\nTraining Centre - Maison de la Simulation. Winter school lectures will cover the ongoing topics\nrelated to domain decomposition methods, interval computations and numerical veriffcation. The\nPLA course will provide lectures from the area of direct and iterative parallel solvers, as well as\npractical training with selected programs. Klíčová slova: numerical analysis; mathematical modelling; computer mathematics Dokument je dostupný na externích webových stránkách.
