RADKA SOTÁKOVÁ: CIENCIA Y MITOLOGÍA EN LOS CUENTOS DE LEOPOLDO LUGONES (Science and mythology in the short stories by Leopoldo Lugones) ABSTRACT The fantasy short stories by Argentinian Leopoldo Lugones are traditionally divided in two mutually exclusive and opposite groups: the mythological and the science based ones. In this paper, we analyze the short stories from the author's collection Las fuerzas extrañas and the critical papers on fantasy literature and Leopoldo Lugones to study the possible division. We base our study on three aspects: the distribution of characters throughout the book; the description of the forces that create the supernatural element; and finally on the references that appear abundantly in the collection. We observe the correlation of the three aspects with the traditionally delimited types and try to establish whether this division can be considered suitable and exact enough to capture the spirit of the short stories. RADKA SOTÁKOVÁ: CIENCIA Y MITOLOGÍA EN LOS CUENTOS DE LEOPOLDO LUGONES ABSTRAKT Fantastické poviedky, ktorých autorom je Argentínčan Leopoldo Lugones, sa tradične delia do dvoch protichodných skupín: na texty mytologické a na vedecké. V tejto práci vychádzame z poviedok zbierky Las fuerzas extrañas (zahrnuté v českej antológii Lugonesovho diela Fantastické povídky), rovnako ako z teoretických štúdií o fantastickej literatúre a Lugonesovi, aby sme overili toto možné delenie. Opierame sa pritom o tri aspekty: rozdelenie postáv v diele; opis síl, ktoré vytvárajú nadprirodzený element; a v konečnom dôsledku tiež o referencie, ktoré sa v zbierke vyskytujú v hojnom množstve. Sledujeme, či tieto tri zložky súvisia s tradične vydelenými skupinami, a teda či je takáto diferenciácia vhodná a dostatočne presná.

The topics of this thesis are Spanish, Czech and Slovak phrasemes that contain words to do with the human body or its parts. The theoretical part of this work delimitates the concepts of phraseme, idiom etc. It describes the different attitudes to this topic in the Spanish and Czech linguistic tradition. The theoretical background serves as a base for the practical section which is dedicated to a dictionary and analysis of Czech and Spanish idioms. The practical section studies the dictionary from different points of view. It is focused on the frequency of use of the idioms in Spanish and Czech, the possibilities of translation and etymology of certain expressions. Témou tejto diplomovej práce sú španielske, české a slovenské idiómy obsahujúce ľudské telo a jeho časti. Teoretická časť práce sa venuje vymedzením pojmov frazém, idióm atd., popisuje rozdielne prístupy k problematike v španielskej a českej lingvistickej tradícií. Na základe teoretických východísk je založená praktická časť práce, ktorá sa zaoberá rozborom idiomatických výrazov obsiahnutých vo vytvorenom slovníku. Praktická časť práce skúma vytvorený slovník z rôznych hľadísk, zameriava sa na frekvenciu používania jednotlivých idiómov v španielčine a v češtine, na možnosti ich prekladu a na etymologickú stránku niektorých výrazov.

Pregón a jeho vliv na vývoj sonu v díle Nicoláse Guilléna

(English) The aim of this thesis was to investigate the relationship between pregoneros, street vendors in Cuba and the Cuban avant-garde poetry of the author Nicolas Guillén. The assumption that both elements have common features was primarily the fact that most street vendors popularity correlates with the end of modernism and the avant-garde beginnings, at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. In the theoretical part, we first focused on the cultural development of Cuban society, which created the basis for the study of music and literature. We found that music was the common denominator in both areas pregones (verses made up of street vendors) and Guillen's poetry. In practical part, we focused on a formal and thematic analysis of pregoners and poems from the collections Sóngoro Cosongo and Motivos de Son. Based on these analyzes we conclude that both elements have in common features of the temporal parallelism and orientation of the Cuban folklore, tradition and black roots, but on their basis we can not confirm a direct impact on Guillen poetry. (slovensky) Cieľom tejto diplomovej práce bolo zistiť vzťah medzi pregoneros, pouličnými predavačmi na Kube a avantgardnou poéziou kubánskeho autora Nicolasa Guilléna. K predpokladu, že tieto dva elemanty majú spoločné znaky bol v prvom rade fakt, že najväčšia popularita pouličných predavačov koreluje s koncom modernizmu a začiatkami avantgardy, teda na prelome 19. a 20.st. V teoretickej časti, sme sa najprv zamerali na kultúrny vývoj kubánskej spoločnosti, čo nám vytvorilo základ pre štúdium hudby a literatúry. Zistili sme, že práve hudba je spoločným menovateľom oboch oblastí, pregonerov (veršov tvorených pouličnými predavačmi) a Guillénovej poézie. V praktickej časti práce sme sa zamerali na formálny a temetický rozbor pregonerov a básni zo zbierok Songoro Cosongo a Motivos de Son. Na základe týchto analýz sme došli k záveru, že oba elementy majú spoločné znaky, dané časovou súbežnosťou a orientáciu sa na kubánsky folklór, tradíciu a černošské korene, avšak na ich základe nemôžeme potvrdiť priamy vplyv na Guillénovú poéziu.

This work deals with the variant of Spanish in Costa Rica and together with the phonological, morphosyntactical and lexical aspects examines languages in conctact and its influence on the lexical system. Apart from the data published in the Linguistic-enthnographic Atlas of Costa Rica the work presents also an investigation made by the author among the inhabitants of the central part of Costa Rica and compares it with other publications of the local lingüists who deal with the dialectal differences in the concrete area. At the same time its aim is to caracterize the Costa Rican variant in terms of the diversity related to the other types of Spanish and highlight the elements which appear exclusively in the speech of the inhabitants of Costa Rica. Key words: Costa Rican Spanish, phonetics, morfosyntax, vocabulary, languages in contact Tato práce se zabývá variantou španělštiny na Kostarice a zkoumá jak stránku fonologickou, morfosyntaktickou a lexikální, tak i jazyky v kontaktu a jejich vliv na lexikální systém. Kromě dat převzatých z Lingvisticko-entografického atlasu Kostariky práce také předkládá vlastní průzkum mezi obyvateli centrální části Kostariky a porovnává jej s publikacemi místních lingvistů zabývajících se dialektálními rozdíly v dané oblasti. Zároveň se snaží charakterizovat kostarickou variantu vzhledem jejím odlišnostem od jiných druhů španělštiny a vyzdvihnout prvky, které se vyskytují výhradně v mluvě obyvatel Kostariky. The thesis The Attempts of Spain at Power Recuperation in the sixties of the 19th Century analyzes five actions of military and naval character undertaken by the Spanish Monarchy out of its territories roughly between the years 1858 and 1866, along with their preconditions, circumstances, course, and results. In the comparison with two actions realized or initiated by Spain as early as towards the close of the 1850s (her participation in the French intervention in Vietnam in 1858-1863, the war against Morocco in 1859-1860), an profounder attention is paid to three interventions effectuated from 1861 in the American countries which still approximately four decades before had been creating components of her great overseas empire (the reannexation of Santo Domingo in 1861- 1865; the participation in the so-called Tripartite Intervention in Mexico in 1861-1862; the naval expedition towards the South America's Pacific watersides that culminated in Spanish-Peruvian controversy of 1864 and afterwards, in the so-called First Pacific War, managed in 1865-1866 by Spain against the South America's Pacific republics, primarily against Chile and Peru). Ve srovnání se dvěma akcemi uskutečněnými nebo zahájenými Španělskem již na sklonku padesátých let 19. století (účast na francouzské intervenci ve Vietnamu v letech 1858-1863, válka proti Maroku v letech 1859- 1860), hlubší pozornost je věnována třem intervencím realizovaným od roku 1861 v amerických zemích, které ještě zhruba čtyři desetiletí předtím tvořily součást jeho velkého zámořského impéria (reanexe Santo Dominga v letech 1861-1865; účast v tzv. The doctoral thesis Czechoslovakia, Mexico and Central America 1945-1989 analyses political, economic and cultural relations between that country of the called Iron Curtain and the Mesoamerican countries during the Cold War in the twentieth century. The research is based mainly on unpublished archival materials, mainly of Czech origin. It is also complemented by fewer materials obtained at the Central American countries' official archives. The wider context of international politics is primarily outlined in the introductory chapters, which aims, on one hand, to inform readers about the development of the Czechoslovak diplomacy and foreign policy and how it was influenced by the Soviet Union and, on the other hand, to describe the unstable political situation prevailing then in the Central American countries, which were also under the constant scrutiny of the United States of America. Thereafter, the analysis focuses on the Czechoslovak-Mexican relations, which is thematically divided into political, cultural and economic sections. A special chapter is dedicated to the activities of the Czechoslovak secret service in Mexico, as a country conveniently located near to the United States. Other chapters study the bilateral relations between Prague and the individual capitals of Central America. The work... Disertační práce Československo, Mexiko a Střední Amerika 1945-1989 je analýzou politických, ekonomických a kulturních vztahů v období studené války. Práce je postavena především na nepublikovaných archivních materiálech hlavně české provenience, doplněné materiály z archivů středoamerických států. Širší kontext mezinárodní politiky je nastíněn především v úvodních kapitolách, které si kladou za cíl informovat čtenáře o vývoji československé diplomacie a zahraniční politiky Československa ovlivňované Sovětským svazem na jedné straně a labilní politické situaci středoamerických států, které se nacházely pod neustálým dohledem Spojených států amerických na straně druhé. Práce se pak věnuje samostatné analýze československo-mexických vztahů, která je tematicky rozdělená na kontakty politické, kulturní a ekonomické. Zvláštní kapitola je věnovaná činnosti československých tajných služeb v Mexiku, jelikož tato země poutala pozornost svou výhodnou polohou vzhledem ke Spojeným státům americkým. Časopriestorové zvraty v tvorbe Julia Cortázara

As the title may reveal, my work will focus on space-time breakdowns in Julio Cortázar's (1914-1984) oeuvre. This Argentinian writer's work is centered mainly on the fantastic genre, specifically on tales. He is one of the most important representants of this genre in the zone of Río de la Plata, although for the most of his life he lived in Paris, where also many of his works were written. With help of other literary critics and theorists, I will try to define the space-time breakdowns in his creation. Tzvetan Todorov in his The Fantastic: A Structural Approach to a Literary Genre, distinguishes between three main categories: the strange, the fantastic and the marvelous. Another critic, Ana María Barrenechea, in her a little bit more vital theory divides the fantastic into these three categories: the natural, the unnatural and the mixture of both. As an example I will use four of Cortázar's tales. On those, I will apply the mentioned theories, nevertheless I will also point out the possible lack of clarity and obsolescence in them and will try to offer some new alternative solutions. David Roas, Spanish critic of fantastic literature, will be a great help. Is the space or time important in the literature? And what is that Cortázar's Fantastic feeling? I'll try to answer these questions and... Ako už sám názov prezrádza, táto práca pojednáva o problematike zvratov časových a priestorových v tvorbe Julia Cortázara (1914-1984). Tento Argentínsky spisovateľ sa venoval prevažne žánru fantastická poviedka. Radí sa k najdôležitejším predstaviteľom tohto žánru v oblasti Río de la Plata, no veľkú časť života prežil v Paríži, kde aj tvoril. Pomocou rôznych literárnych kritikov a teoretikov sa pokúsim o definíciu časo- priestorových zvratov v jeho tvorbe. Tzvetan Todorov vo svojom diele Úvod do fantastickej literatúry odlišuje tri kategórie fantastickosti: čudné, fantastické a úžasné. Kritička Ana María Barrenechea vo svojej vitálnejšej teórií delí fantastický žáner na tieto tri kategórie: prirodzený, neprirodzený, zmes oboch. Ako príklad nám poslúžia štyri autorove fantastické poviedky, na ktoré následne aplikujem spomínané teórie, no zároveň však poukážem na nejednoznačnosť a zastaranosť teórií a ponúknem nové alternatívne riešenia. Veľkou časťou k tomu prispeje názor španielskeho kritika fantastickej literatúry Davida Roasa. Je čas a priestor v literatúre dôležitý? A čo je to Cortázarov Pocit fantastickosti? Pokúsim sa odpovedať na tieto otázky a inšpirujúc sa teóriou Michaila Bachtina sa pokúsim navrhnúť nový tzv. cortazariánsky chronotop. Nakoniec sa pozrieme na historický vývoj fantastickej...

This work is dedicated to the study of Spanish language and the influence it has on English in the territory of the United States of America. The main emphasis is put on the variety of Spanglish. The work is divided into four sections. The first part is focusing on the history and the current state of the Spanish language in Northern America. The language is being divided into basic subgroups. The second part consists of the terminology used thorough this subsequent thesis. As for the third part, it is dealing wih Spanglish and its main characteristics. The final seccion is based on a survey that was realized by means of an Internet questionnaire. The thesis is putting stress on the reciprocal influence of the two languages and the comprehensibility of collected data. Tato práce se zabývá problematikou španělštiny a jejího vlivu na anglický jazyk na území Spojených států amerických. Cílem je vyzdvihnout předevší variantu spanglish. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř sekcí. První část je zaměřena na historii a vývoj španělského jazyka v Severní Americe a na rozdělní španělštiny do základních podskupin. V druhé pasáži práce je vymezena základní terminologie spojená s tématem práce. Třetí část se zaobírá variantou spanglish a jejích základních charakteristik. Poslední část se zakládá na komentáři k uskutečněnému výzkumu. Data byla shromážděna pomocí internetového dotazníku. Práce klade důraz na vzájemné působení anglického a španělského jazyka a na srozumitelnost shromážděných výpovědí.
