Vyhodnocení přesnosti potenciálů neuronových sítí pro simulace platinových nanoklastrů na hydroxylovaných křemičitých površích

2023 - English Supported platinum nanoparticles are important heterogeneous catalysts in many industrial processes, but their activity is strongly affected by particle diffusion and sintering mechanisms which lead to deactivation of the catalyst. To stabilise Pt nanoparticles, it is necessary to understand the reactive interactions of Pt with its support material, e.g., hydroxylated silica and defect-containing zeolites. Realistic simulations of such catalysts at the relevant timescales can be achieved with Neural Network Potentials (NNP) which retain ab initio accuracy at about 103 times lower computational costs compared to density functional theory (DFT) calculations. However, NNPs have only limited transferability to systems not included in the training database. Therefore, in this work recently developed SchNet NNPs were thoroughly tested. These NNPs were trained on a diverse set of Pt and defect-containing zeolites and hydroxylated silica surfaces. Firstly, the DFT database was extended by an active learning approach to accurately model the surfaces of α-quartz, MWW as well as the 2D zeolite layer IPC-1P (hydrolysis product of UTL). Podepřené platinové nanočástice jsou důležité heterogenní katalyzátory pro velkou řadu průmyslových procesů, nicméně jejich aktivita je velmi ovlivněna difúzí částic a slinováním, které vedou k deaktivaci katalyzátoru. Pro stabilizaci platinových nanočástic je potřeba detailní znalost reakčních interakcí mezi platinou a jejím podpírajícím materiálem, jako je např. hydroxylované křemičité povrchy a defektní zeolity. Realistických simulací těchto katalyzátorů relevantních časových úseků může být dosaženo pomocí potenciálů neuronových sítí (NNP), které zachovávají přesnost ab initio metod za zhruba 103 krát menší výpočetní cenu v porovnání s výpočty za pomoci teorie funkcionálu hustoty (DFT). Ačkoliv mají NNP jen omezenou přenosnost na systémy, které nebyly zahrnuty v tréninkové databázi. Proto, v této práci jsou důkladně testovány nově vyvinuté SchNet NNP. Tyto potenciály byly trénovány na rozmanité sadě platiny a defektních zeolite a hydroxylovaných křemičitých površích. Vazebné a nevazebné interakční potenciály pro studium struktury proteinů pomocí zhrubených modelů

2023 - English Protein folding involves the transformation of an amino acid chain to a unique 3D structure. The conformation of a protein is determined by its amino acid sequence. Understanding the process of protein folding and dynamics is crucial since protein function is closely related to its structure and dynamics. These processes can be investigated by means of molecular simulations. Coarse- grained models, which are used in molecular simulations, provide a favorable trade-off between computational efficiency and accuracy. To employ such mod- els, a reasonable force field is necessary. The force field includes both bonding and non-bonding interaction potentials, which are derived either from atomistic simulations or from known, experimentally determined protein structures. We derived such potentials using dataset of more than 4,500 structures from PDB database. 1 Skládáníproteinůje proces transformace aminokyselinového řetězce do unikátní 3D struktury. Struktura proteinu je dána jeho aminokyselinovou sekvencí. Porozuměníprocesu skládáníproteinůa proteinové dynamiky je klíčové, protože funkce proteinu je úzce spjata s jeho strukturou a dynamikou. Tyto procesy lze zkoumat pomocí molekulárních simulací. Zhrubené modely, které se používají v molekulárních simulacích, nabízejí výhodný kompromis mezi výpočetní efektiv- itou a přesností. Pro použití těchto modelů je nezbytný dobře nastavený force field neboli silové pole. Silové pole zahrnuje jak vazebné, tak nevazebné inter- akčnípotenciály, které jsou odvozeny z atomistických simulacínebo ze známých, experimentálně určených proteinových struktur. 2023 - English Post-war France saw many attempts to reconcile the phenomenological project with Marxism. One of those endeavours is represented by Tran Duc Thao's work Phénoménologie et Matérialisme Dialectique. Thao was one of the first to gain access to Husserl's unpublished works in Leuven, and in his evaluation of Husserl's phenomenology found himself facing an unsurpassable contradiction between the theoretical principles of the Husserlian method and the results of his concrete analyses. Although admittedly not satisfied with his own solution to the problems of Husserlian phenomenology, Thao's account of the latter was influential among the thinkers of his time and laid the groundwork for future attempts at overcoming these problems. The present theses will try to follow Thao's reading of Husserl in the first part of Phénoménologie et Matérialisme Dialectique and the reasons that led him to assume a standpoint from which the only way to overcome the difficulties of phenomenology was the path of dialectical materialism. The thesis will further try to carve out Thao's own conception of phenomenology and what, despite the criticism he had for Husserl's work, led him to regard it as a starting point for all his further theoretical endeavours. Poválečná Francie zažila mnoho pokusů o propojení fenomenologické filosofie a marxismu. Představitelem jednoho z těchto pokusů je Tran Duc Thao se svou knihou Phénoménologie et Matérialisme Dialectique. Byl jedním z prvních, kdo mohl v Lovani studovat Husserlovo nevydané dílo, a při svých zkoumáních narazil na rozpory mezi teoretickými principy Husserlovy filosofie a konkrétními výsledky svých analýz. Ačkoli sám nebyl se svým řešením problémů Husserlovy fenomenologie spokojen, jeho pojetí se stalo vlivným mezi filosofy jeho doby a položilo základy k možnému překonání těchto problémů v budoucnu. Tato práce se pokusí sledovat Thaovu interpretaci Husserla v první části jeho knihy Phénoménologie et Matérialisme Dialectique a najít důvody, které ho vedly k názoru, že jediným východiskem z obtíží fenomenologie je dialektický materialismus. Práce se dále pokusí nastínit Thaovo vlastní pojetí fenomenologie, a co jej, i přes jeho kritické stanovisko, vedlo k zaujmutí fenomenologického hlediska jako výchozího bodu. 2023 - English 1 Abstract: This thesis is concerned with the topic of embodiment and subjectivity in the works of two key authors of the French feminist theory - Simone de Beauvoir and Luce Irigaray. Its goal is to both elucidate the positions of both of the philosophers, as well as attempt to find a common ground between their respective positions, that is the positions of existential feminism and psychoanalysis-influenced feminism. In doing so this work likewise deals with a number of varying interpretations of both of the authors and discussed their respective merits. 1 Abstrakt: Tato práce se zabývá problematikou tělesné situovanosti a subjektivity v dílech dvou klíčových autorek francouzské feministické teorie - Simone de Beauvoir a Luce Irigaray. Jejím cílem je jednak osvětlit pozice obou filozofek, ale také se pokusit o nalezení společných bodů těchto pozic, tedy pozic existenciálního feminismu a feminismu ovlivněného psychoanalýzou. Sebevraždy v Indii na historickém maximu v kontextu pandemie Covid-19 a post-pandemického období

2023 - English The entire globalized world became victims of the covid 19 pandemic, however, a number of other significant social problems like suicides got impacted by it and the lockdown. In India, the suicide rate and annual number of suicides were already at a rising trend prior to the pandemic and reached an all-time high during the covid 19 pandemic in 2020. Emile Durkheim in his book on suicide called Le suicide identifies 4 types of suicides, they were also occurring in India mainly due to the covid 19 lockdown and its impacts and caused a significant damage along with mismanagement of the pandemic and bad government policies. The large-scale internal migration of helpless migrant workers due to the lockdown and the government's failure in arranging a solution for them to travel back to home is evident to the bad government planning and the mismanagement of the covid 19 pandemic, resulting in a number of suicides by migrant workers, daily wage earners, alcoholics suffering from withdrawals. While many Indians stepped up to volunteer and help the people affected by lockdown and suicidal tendencies, the major donations went to the government which failed to reach the ones that needed it. Celý globalizovaný svět se stal obětí pandemie covid 19 a souvisejících opatření (lockdown), které ovlivnily i řadu významných sociálních problémů, jako jsou sebevraždy. V Indii měla míra sebevražednosti a roční počet sebevražd rostoucí tendenci již před pandemií a během pandemie covid 19 v roce 2020 dosáhla historického maxima. Emile Durkheim ve své knize Le suicide identifikuje 4 typy sebevražd, k nimž docházelo i v Indii především v důsledku lockdownů a které spolu se špatným řízením pandemie a špatnou vládní politikou způsobily značné škody. Rozsáhlá vnitřní migrace bezmocných migrujících pracovníků v důsledku lockdownu a neschopnost vlády zajistit pro ně řešení pro cestu zpět domů svědčí o špatném vládním plánování a špatném řízení pandemie covid 19, což mělo za následek řadu sebevražd migrujících pracovníků, dělníků závislých na denní mzdě nebo alkoholiků trpících abstinenčními příznaky. Zatímco mnoho Indů se zapojilo do dobrovolnické činnosti a pomáhalo lidem postiženým lockdownem a potýkajícími se se sebevražednými sklony, vláda nebyla schopná nasměrovat finanční pomoc těm nejpotřebnějším. Výsledky práce naznačují, že dvě nejčastější sebevraždy v indické společnosti během pandemie covid-19 byly anomické a fatalistické sebevraždy. 2023 - English This bachelor's thesis revolves around the acceptance of Bitcoin as legal tender in El Salvador and the subsequent reactions from the international community, particularly the United States and the International Monetary Fund. Using the case of El Salvador as a study, the thesis seeks to explore a broader phenomenon concerning Latin America and the potential for Bitcoin to be the key for positive socio-economic transformation in the region. The theoretical part of the thesis delves into the concepts of dollarization and the governance of Bitcoin, in addition to the world-systems theory proposed by Immanuel Wallerstein. Subsequently, the thesis applies these theories to concrete facts and conducts an analysis. The timeframe for this research spans from September 2021, when Bitcoin was officially adopted as legal tender in El Salvador, until the end of 2022. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá přijetím Bitcoinu jako zákonného platidla v Salvadoru a následnými reakcemi mezinárodního společenství, zejména Spojených států a Mezinárodního měnového fondu. Na příkladu Salvadoru se práce snaží zkoumat širší fenomén týkající se Latinské Ameriky a potenciálu Bitcoinu být klíčem k pozitivní socioekonomické transformaci regionu. Teoretická část práce se kromě teorie světových systémů navržené Immanuelem Wallersteinem zabývá koncepty dolarizace a bitcoinizace. Následně práce aplikuje tyto teorie na konkrétní skutečnosti a provádí jejich analýzu. 2023 - English This thesis explores the potential of how Social Safety Nets (SSNs) impact development. The paper will focus on cash transfer and food subsidy programs, implemented in Ghana, Brazil, and Pakistan. The discussion in this piece of work shall facilitate the debate on how Social Safety Nets (SSNs) affect various development indicators. In addition, the paper will also highlight a framework of what an ideal evaluation scheme for such programs must entail. Conclusively the evaluation results are analyzed, challenges with data quality and measurement will be discussed and further avenues of research are be highlighted.
