Ke vztahu funkce a tektoniky v typologii obřadních písní na hranici východního a západního písňového stylu
Frolcová, Věra
2017 - Czech
Příspěvek vychází z pramenů lidové písně Moravy a Slezska a z českých, polských a slovenských komparačních pramenů. Zabývá se metrorytmickým a tektonickým principem typologie tradiční hudby. Pro typologii obřadních písní jsou příznačné integrační tendence vývoje (interetnické moravsko-slezsko-polské písňové typy společné funkce) a dezintegrační tendence vývoje (regionální a lokální typy). The paper draws on sources of traditional music from Moravia, Silesia, and from Czech, Polish and Slovak comparative material. It deals with the metro-rhythmic and tectonic principle of typology of traditional music. The typology of ceremonial song is characterized by both the integration tendencies (the inter-ethnic Moravian-Silesian-Polish types of common function), and disintegration tendencies of development (regional and local types). Keywords: Czech ethnomusicology; Moravia and Silesia; Christmas and Easter carol; metro-rhythm principle of typology; tectonic method in ethnomusicology; inter-ethnic type of folk song; Moravian-Silesian-Polish typological parallels in carols Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Ouvertura k první verzi opery Král a uhlíř Antonína Dvořáka
Myslivcová, Eva
2016 - Czech
The issue of different versions of works of music is one that is discussed in the case of Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904), and in a certain sense it is connected with the theme "old and new", when an older, earlier, or first version becomes the basis for a newer one. This text focuses on a specific example of different versions, that of the overture to the first setting of Dvořák's opera King and Charcoal Burner from the year 1871. An overture which, as an integral part of the opera, was based on the musical material contained in the work, which eventually was never performed. And at the same time an overture that was the only part of this opera to "survive", was later transformed by the composer himself to a concert overture and thus became an independent work, while the opera's libretto was set to new music. This is in a nutshell the rather complicated genesis of the opera King and Charcoal Burner, during which the Concert Overture in F Major took shape as a new composition, created from the musical material of an old one. Staré, či nové v Serenádě op. 44 Antonína Dvořáka
Kolátorová, Petra
2016 - Czech
O klasicistním modelu lze na základě analýzy a historických souvislostí uvažovat též v případě Serenády op. 44 Antonína Dvořáka, konkrétně o Serenádě B dur KV 361/370a Wolfganga Amadea Mozarta. Dvořák posunul Brahmsovu snahu dál směrem k pozdějšímu neoklasicismu. The paper considers the genre of the orchestral serenade in the context of reflections on “old” and “new”. The serenade form was rediscovered for the 19th century by the German composer Johannes Brahms, who built on the legacy of Viennese classicism. In the case of Antonín Dvořák’s Serenade for Wind Instruments, op. 44, it is also possible, on the basis of analysis and historical connections, to speculate about classicist models, specifically Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Serenade in B Flat Major, KV 361/370a. Dvořák took Brahms’ initiative a step further, with his Serenade op. 44 presaging the trend in development towards neoclassicism, which, however, was to come much later. Fetiš nejstaršího zvuku. Věda, politika a fascinace počátky nahrávání zvuku
Kratochvíl, Matěj
2016 - Czech
Autor se snaží – se zvláštním zřetelem k tradiční hudbě – formulovat některé obecné myšlenky, jež bychom měli mít na paměti při práci s historickými nahrávkami, abychom nepropadli přílišné fascinaci „historií hovořící přímo k nám.“ The invention of the phonograph in the late 19th century started an obsession with the recorded sound as a document of history. As such it became an important part of the human need to create stories from archival materials and to see them as parts of objective truth, a direct connection with the past. With the growing accessibility of historical audio documents, we need to look critically at these sources and at the possibility to take them as a trace leading to the beginning of a particular part of music history. The present paper shows in which ways we can see the phenomenon of sound recording truly as the beginning of something new and in which cases such an impression can be misleading. Unconsciously or with a political or other intent, recordings can present music in a very different, sometimes distorted form. With special focus on traditional music, the author attempts to formulate some general ideas that should be kept in mind when dealing with historical recordings so that we do not become too fascinated with the “past speaking directly to us”. Keywords: sound recording; traditional music; phonograph; media theory; music and politics Fulltext is available at external website.
