Thesis PhDr. Radek Buben Deconsolidation of Venezuelan Democracy: Erosion of the Party System, Neo-Populism, and Repoliticization of the Armed Forces The thesis Deconsolidation of Venezuelan Democracy: Erosion of the Party System, Neo- Populism, and Repoliticization of the Armed Forces addresses the process of deconsolidation of democracy in Venezuela between 1973 and 1993. The analysis is based on both theoretical and comparative approach embedded notably in institutional comparative political science (analysis of systemic and institutional conditions of the analyzed process), historical sociology and political theory (phenomena of populism and neo-populism) and approaches of traditional historical analysis of political process in a particular period of time. The theoretical part of the text is focused on the issue of democracy in Latin America in general. More concretely, it concerns with typologies of political regimes, institutionalization of party systems, civil-military relations and the so-called resources curse theory. The great deal of the text covers analysis of populism, its definition and the existing research of the phenomenon. Disertační práce PhDr. Radek Buben Dekonsolidace demokracie ve Venezuele: rozklad stranického systému, neo-populismus a repolitizace ozbrojených sil Disertační práce Dekonsolidace demokracie ve Venezuele: rozklad stranického systému, neo- populismus a repolitizace ozbrojených sil se věnuje procesu dekonsolidace demokracie ve Venezuele v letech 1973-1993. Studie kombinuje teoretické a komparativní přístupy vycházející především z institucionální komparativní politologie (v případě analýzy systémových a institucionálních okolností analyzovaného procesu), historické sociologie a politické teorie (v případě studia fenoménu populismu a neo-populismu) a přístupy standardní historické analýzy politických procesů v konkrétním vymezeném období. V teoretické části se text zaměřuje na problematiku demokracie v Latinské Americe, na otázky typů politických režimů a institucionalizace stranických systémů, vojensko-civilních vztahů a na problematiku tzv. prokletí ropných zdrojů. The purpose of this paper is to identify and to highlight the main rhetoric and narrative elements connected to the topic of identity in exile in the work of Uruguayan author Mario Benedetti. We will first analyze the sociopolitical situation in Uruguay as well as South America during the decade of 1970, as well as the consequences and the impact the experience of exile produces in an individual's self-perception Five representative stories, created by this writer during his own exile, are used to deal with various aspects of identity. The focus will be first on the characters' perception and awareness regarding the changes, the everyday habits as well as the anomalous life situation in which they find themselves. We will also discuss how their physical reality reflects a spiritual and irreversible condition due to the extreme drama experienced. Then reference will be made to the habits and values that necessarily go into crisis when, in order to survive under conditions of pressure, a new social and cultural environment is chosen. Finally, we will focus on the individual's sense of belonging to his place of origin, and how it is affected after living for some time in the host country when nostalgia, feelings of guilt, and adaptation to a new socio-cultural environment play a crucial role. Sinopsis El objetivo del presente trabajo es identificar y poner en evidencia los elementos retóricos y narrativos clave y recurrentes relacionados con el problema de la identidad en el marco del exilio en la obra de Mario Benedetti. Para ello, se analizarán tanto el contexto sociopolítico uruguayo y sudamericano de la década de 1970, como las consecuencias y el impacto que genera la situación del exilio en la autopercepción del sujeto. A partir de cinco cuentos representativos creados durante el propio exilio del escritor, se tratarán diferentes aspectos relacionados con el tema de la identidad. En primer lugar, nos enfocaremos en la percepción y en la conciencia de los personajes en cuanto a los cambios, la cotidianeidad y la situación vital anómala en la que se encuentran. En segundo lugar, veremos cómo la realidad corporal de los personajes es reflejo de un cierto estado del alma que se manifiesta como irreversible dado el nivel de dramatismo de las experiencias por ellos vividas. En tercer lugar, haremos referencia a los hábitos y a los valores que, en el sujeto, necesariamente se ponen en crisis dentro un nuevo contexto sociocultural que ha sido elegido bajo condiciones de tensión y en pos de la supervivencia. The intention of my thesis Hopscotch by Cortázar - a game in many games was to analyze the novel in its ludic dimension. I tried to see the game as a multiplicative element and, at the same time, as an element that provides unit to the work. Therefore, I use as an interpretative instrument the semantic gesture of Jan Mukařovský. However, I do not intend to utilize this term in his whole meaning, I wanted to study the multiplicity and unit of the game, exploring some of the aspects of the semantic gesture. Despite the game has dynamic features, it also has two concrete forms in the novel. Hopscotch is many games, but especially is two: esthetic and moral game. When I speak about the esthetic game, I refer to the formal aspects of the novel. I tried to study the esthetic game in its multiplicative dimension, as well as an element that creates unit in the dynamics of the novel. Therefore, I my research went through the formal aspects of the work. I observed the problem of the name, genre, structure and the relations between characters, readers and the author. On one hand, the novel is presented, thanks to the game, as an open, infinite book. The ludic element also provides to the author an instrument to play with the structure of the novel, creating infinite possibilities of lecture. At the third... Zámerom mojej diplomovej práce Cortázarova Rayuela - hra v mnoha hrách je analyzovať tému hry, ktorá má v diele argentínskeho spisovateľa podobu mnohotvárneho a ambivalentného prvku. K naplneniu tohto zámeru som využila ako interpretačný nástroj termín sémantické gesto Jana Mukařovského. Mojím cieľom však nebolo interpretovať Cortázarov román v zmysle štúdia českého vedca, skôr som použila jeho termín ako oporu pri riešení problému hry. Otázka sémantického gesta mi umožnila vidieť hru v diele Rayuela ako mnohotvárny a zároveň zjednocujúci prvok. Jedná sa teda o dynamický motív (Rayuela je mnoho hier), ktorý sa zároveň v diele prejavuje dvojakým spôsobom ako hra estetická a morálna. Estetickou hrou sa myslia formálne aspekty diela. Motív hry je v románe nielen dynamickým prvkom, ale jedná sa zároveň o zjednocujúci element, ktorý spája jednotlivé aspekty diela. Z tej perspektívy som skúmala názov, žáner, štruktúra diela a tiež vzťah postáv, čitateľa a autora. Motív hry umožňuje autorovi, aby experimentoval s žánrom diela (otvorený román) a taktiež s jej štruktúrou. Vďaka hre román predstavuje nekonečné množstvo možných čítaní. Okrem toho som sa zamerala na jazyk diela. Vďaka hre autor pretvára jazykovú stránku románu. Avšak "ludens" je tým aspektom, ktorý dodáva zároveň jazyku diela jednotu. Nakoniec...

This work examines writing of the Chilean author, M. L. Bombal (1910-1980), one of the first exponents of surrealism in prose in the region of Latin America. The work presents the position of women in the Latin American society of the first half of the 20th century to the reader, and on this background attempts to analyze the feminine world the author creates in her work. It focuses on its heroines and situations they live in and on this basis, investigates different components of their world - matrimony, love, sexual life, dream-like world and their fusion with nature. Another objective of the present work is to put in contrast of the feminine and masculine worlds and to capture the difference between them. It also briefly comments on the problems of feminism and its potential influence on the Bombal's narrative. Bombalové (1910-1980), jedné z prvních představitelek surrealismu v próze v oblasti Latinské Ameriky. Práce seznamuje čtenáře s postavením ženy v latinskoamerické společnosti první poloviny 20. století a na tomto pozadí se pokouší o analýzu ženského světa, který autorka ve svém díle vytváří. Všímá si jednotlivých hrdinek a situací, do kterých se dostávají, a na základě toho zkoumá různé součásti jejich světa - manželství, lásku, sexuální život, snový svět a spojení s přírodou. Práce má také za cíl postavit do kontrastu svět ženský a mužský a zachytit rozdíly mezi nimi. Krátce se vyjadřuje k problematice feminismu a jeho případnému vlivu na tvorbu M. L. Bombalové. The object of the present work is the linguistic situation in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country. It is divided into two main parts. The first part contains chapters that discuss the linguistic situation in the Basque Country in general. They explain the historical reasons that led to the common status of the two official languages of the territorial unit and then they bring closer the representation in the use of both languages. The second part is devoted to a basque influences on the Spanish in general and on the Spanish used in Basque Country particularly. This section also includes lexical borrowing between the two languages. Predmetom predloženej práce je problematika jazykovej situácie v autonómnom spoločenstve Baskicka. Je rozdelená na dve hlavné časti. Prvá časť obsahuje kapitoly, ktoré pojednávajú o jazykovej situácií v Baskicku všeobecne. Vysvetľujú historické dôvody, ktoré viedli k spoločnému štatútu dvoch úradných jazykov tohto územného celku a následne približujú zastúpenie v používaní oboch jazykov. Druhá časť práce je venovaná konkrétnym vplyvom baskičtiny na španielčinu všeobecne a na španielčinu používanú v Baskicku zvlášť. Táto časť zahŕňa aj lexikálne výpožičky medzi oboma jazykmi.

Variation in Cuban Spanish Abstract The aim of this thesis is to deal with the topic of variation in Cuban Spanish, with a special emphasis on the Havana variety, one of the most innovative and recognizable within the island's linguistic landscape. The work is divided into three sections: phonetics and phonology, lexis and semantics, morphology and syntax. The cases described are illustrated with entries taken from a lexico- graphical work of personal authorship, or likewise with usage examples mainly taken from the Reference Corpus of Contemporary Spanish (CREA). On the basis of the analysis of the collected data, this paper examines the state of variability and balance inherent to the system, in order to deepen in the understanding of the mechanisms that shape this language variety. Latin-American Dictatorships as a Source of Literary Inspiration - Fiction in 20th Century - The literature that deals a historical fact helps us to understand the history, showing us life of fictive individuals representing persons who lived those historical circumstances from an intimate, partial and improbable perspective and thus is not opposed to the "official history"; it creates a fictive chronicles of historical moments. Using the words of Miguel de Unamuno, there is something small and substantive, that history does not manage to capture: the intrahistory, things that happened in the lives of people that witnessed great historical events: All the things described daily by the newspapers, the history of the "present historical moment" is nothing but a surface of a sea, a surface that freezes and crystallizes in books and archives, and once they are crystallized in a hard layer, not major to a poor skin in relation to the intrahistorical lives we live inside of its immense ardent center. The newspapers say nothing about the silent lives of millions of men that wake up at any hour of the day in all the countries of the globe by the order of the Sun and go to their fields to proceed to their dark and silent eternal everyday work, that work, that as the submarine corrals create the bases for the islets... Diktatury jsou politickým a společenským fenoménem přítomným napříč celými dějinami nezávislosti Latinské Ameriky a svět je zná nejen z historiografie, ale i z literatury. Díla zabývající se tímto tématem nemají za cíl připravit Historii o její místo, naopak, přispívají k jejímu porozumění, protože představují diktaturu z jiné perspektivy, z perspektivy čtenáři bližší a srozumitelnější. Diktatury jako zdroj literární inspirace, próza 20. století je práce vystavěná na třech pilířích: historii, ve které nalezneme příčiny, které vyústily v bezpočetné režimy diktatur na latinskoamerickém kontinentu. Tyto diktatury se pokusíme systematizovat tak, abychom je mohli jasněji studovat a zviditelnit jejich dopad na literaturu. Druhým pilířem je inspirace, pátrání po kauzách, které vedou autora k pojednání tak kontroverzního tématu, zejména pokud je současné s autorovým životem, tématu zdánlivě tak málo atraktivního pro čtenáře. Třetím pilířem je samotné literární dílo, tvorba jako taková; zde se budeme věnovat slavným románům v rámci tohoto podžánru, ale i jiným, málo známým, které ale vytvářejí významný přínos pro intrahistorii diktatury, jelikož nám přinášejí náhled v literatuře ne tolik prozkoumaný.

The main objective of this work was to analyze the social discrimination in Peru from historical social perspective. The work is divided into two main parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part we dealt with the analysis of various concepts that have been formulated by leading international organizations. In the practical part we analyze discrimination in the media such as television and in addition, we are also dedicated to social discrimination against residents of Lima is perceived today. KEY WORDS: discrimination, racism, ethnicity, domination, Peruvian society, mestizo Hlavním cílem této práce byla analýza sociální diskriminace v Peru z historického socialního pohledu. Práce je rozdělena na dvě hlavní části: teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části jsme se zabývali analyzou různých pojmů, které byly formulovány předními mezinárodními organizacemi.. V praktické části jsme analyzovali diskriminaci v médiích jako je televize a vedle toho jsme se rovněž věnovali sociální diskriminaci jak je obyvatelí Limy vnimaná dnes.
