The conception of Atlas of the Southbohemian region.

This diploma paper deals with proposing Atlas of the Southbohemian region. This thematic atlas is based on regional level. Thanks to its character the atlas permeates all important parts of geography and is getting the most important information source about the region. Opening chapters deal with aims of the paper and with scientific literature which is accessible to this topic. Other chapter is concentrated on evaluation of regional atlases which are connected to the territory of the Czech Republic. Essential part of this paper is the analysis of the data accessibility in regional level. There is introduced also the proper design of sections of the Southbohemian Atlas, together with a conception of single geographic papers. Exemplary geographic papers can help with creating visual imagination. Diplomová práce řeší sestavení Atlasu Jihočeského kraje. Jedná se koncepci tematického atlasu regionální úrovně. Rozsah atlasu zahrnuje všechny hlavní složky geografie a stává se tak důležitým zdrojem informací o území. Úvodní kapitoly stanovují cíle a věnují se literatuře, která je k danému tématu přístupná. Následující kapitola přibližuje a hodnotí regionální atlasy, které se zobrazovaným územím vztahují k České republice. Nepostradatelnou částí této práce je analýza dostupnosti dat na regionální úrovni. Dále je uveden samotný návrh oddílů Atlasu Jihočeského kraje spolu s koncepcí jednotlivých mapových listů. Pro vytvoření vizuální představy vznikly ukázkové mapové listy.

In the Bachelor Thesis on Marketing of Organic Food in South Bohemia, analyzes the current state of organic food in above-mentioned region from the perspective of marketing. The main purpose is to find out the customers relation to organic food and the main aspects which are decisive in shopping. The basic marketing concepts as a who is the customer, types of customer's behavior in the market, marketing and marketing mix, are defined in the first theoretical part. Furthermore, the explanation of the term "organic food", such as the legislative requirements for organic certification, the types of organic food labeling, quality control, the certification company and the situation on the organic food market, too. In the practical part the author evaluates the acquired data and information from the questionnaire survey. Data analysis is critical and determines the ultimate solution. In conclusion, the author introduces the measures and recommendations based on the information of obtained analysis. V bakalářské práci na téma Marketing biopotravin v Jihočeském kraji je analyzován současný stav biopotravin v Jihočeském kraji z pohledu marketingu. Hlavním cílem práce bylo zjistit, jaký je vztah zákazníků k biopotravinám, a jaké hlavní aspekty rozhodují při nákupu biopotravin. V první teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní marketingové pojmy: kdo je zákazník, typy chování zákazníků na trhu, marketing, marketingový mix. Dále je zde obsaženo vysvětlení pojmu "biopotravina" a jaké jsou legislativní požadavky pro certifikaci biopotravin, typy značení biopotravin, kontrola kvality, certifikační společnosti a situace na trhu biopotravin. V praktické části autor vyhodnocuje získaná data a informace z dotazníkového šetření. Analyzování dat je zásadní a určuje konečné řešení. Závěrem jsou autorem uvedena opatření a doporučení vyplývající z analýzy získaných informací.

The Incidence of Pertussis in South Bohemia

The thesis deals with the problem of the occurrence of whooping cough in the South Bohemian Region in the period of 2003-2012. Despite the high level of vaccination the incidence of this illness after a significant fall in the 1980s has been growing constantly since 1993. This trend evidently also applies in other developed countries with a high rate of vaccination. The main aim is to draw up an overview of the occurrence of whooping cough in the South Bohemian Region in the monitored period of the last 10 years, compare this occurrence with other regions in the Czech Republic and map out the changes which have occurred in whooping cough vaccination. Quantitative and qualitative research was chosen to process the empirical part. Data for quantitative research was acquired from the database of infectious diseases (EPIDAT), and consisted of reported cases of whooping cough. Another essential group of data were demographic figures about the number and age structure of the population. The second qualitative part was drawn up on the basis of a literary search. I acquired additional information by communicating with individual territorial workplaces of the Regional Hygiene Station of the South Bohemian Region based in České Budějovice. Using the processed data I discovered that the incidence of whooping cough in the South Bohemian Region does not have an ascending trend in 2003-2012 unlike the trend in the whole of the Czech Republic. The highest occurrence of whooping cough in the Czech Republic in the monitored period was reported in the 10-14 age group. The research also showed that in the period of 2003-2012 individual regions differed greatly in the occurrence and can be divided into two groups ? regions with the highest reached incidence below 10 cases/100,000 people and regions with incidence with the highest reached incidence above 10 cases/100,000 people which includes the South Bohemian Region. There have been many changes in the vaccination of whooping cough and the most important was the transition from whole cell vaccine to acellular in 2007 and adding a 6th booster dose between the 10th and 11th year in 2009. The greatest attention should be paid above all to increase information or test the knowledge of the lay public, especially women preparing for pregnancy and people taking care of newborn babies and infants about the occurrence, potential risks and possibilities of vaccination against this infection even at an adult age. In my opinion a further necessity is the consolidation of diagnostics, definition of a case and procedures of surveillance throughout the Czech Republic, education of paediatricians and general practitioners about the illness and topicality of the problem, an appeal to report the occurrence of this infection to epidemiologists, observing the isolation of the patient, monitoring possible epidemiological connections between cases and making use of the offer of the NRL (National Reference Laboratory) services against whooping cough and diphtheria. This thesis can be used in practice as a summary of information material for the lay and professional public about the occurrence of whooping cough in the South Bohemian Region and throughout the Czech Republic and overview of vaccination against whooping cough. It can be an incentive for further anti-epidemic measures and the need for further research into this problem. Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou výskytu pertuse na území Jihočeského kraje v období 2003-2012. I přes vysokou proočkovanost se incidence tohoto onemocnění po výrazném poklesu v 80. letech od roku 1993 stále zvyšuje. Tento trend je zřejmý i v ostatních vyspělých zemích s vysokou proočkovaností. Hlavním záměrem bylo sestavit přehled výskytu pertuse v Jihočeském kraji ve sledovaném období posledních 10 let, porovnat tento výskyt s ostatními kraji v České republice a zmapovat změny, které nastaly ve vakcinaci pertuse. Pro zpracování empirické části byl zvolen kvantitativně-kvalitativní výzkum. Data pro kvantitativní část výzkumu byla získána z databáze infekčních nemocí (EPIDAT) a tvořily je hlášené případy pertuse. Další nezbytnou skupinu dat tvořily demografické údaje o počtu a věkovém složení obyvatel. Druhá kvalitativní část byla zpracována na základě literární rešerše. Doplňující informace jsem získala prostřednictvím komunikace s pracovnicemi jednotlivých územních pracovišť Krajské hygienické stanice Jihočeského kraje se sídlem v Českých Budějovicích. Na základě zpracovaných dat jsem zjistila, že incidence pertuse v Jihočeském kraji nemá v letech 2003-2012 vzestupný trend na rozdíl od trendu celé České republiky. Nejvyšší výskyt pertuse v ČR byl ve sledovaném období zaznamenán ve věkové skupině 10-14 let. Z výzkumu rovněž vyplynulo, že v období let 2003-2012 se jednotlivé kraje ve výskytu pertuse velmi liší a lze je rozdělit do dvou skupin ? na kraje s nejvyšší dosaženou incidencí do 10 případů/100.000 obyvatel a na kraje s nejvyšší dosaženou incidencí s incidencí nad 10 případů/100.000 obyvatel, kam spadá i kraj Jihočeský. Ve vakcinaci pertuse došlo k mnoha změnám, z nichž nejvýznamnější byl přechod z celobuněčné vakcíny na acelulární v roce 2007 a přidání 6. booster dávky mezi 10. - 11. rokem věku v roce 2009. Největší pozornost by se měla zaměřit především na zvýšení informovanosti či ověření znalostí laické veřejnosti, zejména žen připravujících se na těhotenství a osob pečujících o novorozence a kojence, o výskytu, potencionálních rizicích a možnostech vakcinace proti této nákaze i v dospělém věku. Další nezbytností je podle mého názoru sjednocení diagnostiky, definice případu a postupů surveillance v rámci celé ČR, edukace pediatrů a praktických lékařů o nemoci a aktuálnosti problému, apelace na hlášení výskytu této nákazy epidemiologům, dodržování izolace nemocného, sledování možné epidemiologické souvislosti mezi případy a využití nabídky služeb NRL proti pertusi a diftérii. Tato práce může být v praxi využita jako souhrnný informační materiál pro laickou i odbornou veřejnost o výskytu onemocnění pertuse v Jihočeském kraji i celé ČR a přehledu vakcinace proti pertusi. Může být podnětem pro další protiepidemická opatření a potřeby dalších výzkumů v této problematice.

Another part of the thesis deals with the methods,that are used to make an analysis of the availability of the pharmacies using geographic information systems. The last chapter ,,Analysis of the availability of pharmacies" deals with the placement of pharmacies on the South Bohemia, the operators of the pharmacies, availability of the catchment communities, the time availability, map and tabular outputs. Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na dostupnost lékáren v Jihočeském kraji. Hned v úvodu jsou cíle bakalářské práce. V následujících kapitolách jsou obsáhlá teoretická východiska, rozbor literatury a stanovené hypotézy. Další část práce se zabývá metodami, které jsou použity pro vypracování analýzy dostupnosti lékáren za pomoci geografických informačních systémů. Abstract: Konečná, A. (2013): Digital atlas of the South Bohemian region. Bachelor thesis. Department of Geography at University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, České Budějovice, 73 s. One of the aims of this bachelor thesis was a complex geographical analysis of the South Bohemian region based on the achieved and selected data, where the preference was given to the data provided by the South Bohemian Regional Council. It was stated and indicated in the overview of the data gained by this institution. After having created a simple concept of the atlas, I have chosen 15 topics which were accompanied by specially created demonstrative maps and analytical texts. The important constituents during the creation were founding of a contact with the Regional Council, and final process of the publishing of the maps using the programme ArcGIS Online, which allows further work and sharing of the maps. Anotace: KONEČNÁ, A. (2013): Digitální atlas Jihočeského kraje. Bakalářská práce. Katedra geografie Jihočeské univerzity v Českých Budějovicích, České Budějovice, 73 s. Jedním z cílů této bakalářské práce byla komplexní geografická analýza Jihočeského kraje na základě získaných a poté vybraných dat, kde byla prvotně upřednostňována data poskytnutá Krajským úřadem Jihočeského kraje. Ta byla uvedena v přehledu dat získaných od této instituce. Po vytvoření jednoduchého konceptu atlasu jsem zvolila 15 témat, na které byly vytvořeny ukázkové mapy doplněny o stručný analytický text. Důležitou složkou této tvorby bylo navázání kontaktu s krajským úřadem a závěrečný proces publikování map pomocí programu ArcGIS Online, jenž umožňuje vytvořené mapy dále sdílet a pracovat s nimi.

The carbon footprint of households in South Bohemia

The thesis deals with carbon footprint of households in South Bohemia, namely greenhouse gas emissions associated with the ordinary activities of each of us. The main objective of this thesis is to calculate the carbon footprint of households in the South Bohemia Region. The partial aim is then to assess which of the monitored components has the largest share of the total carbon footprint. These components are heating, electricity, cars, public transport, flying and food. Another partial objective is to compare the results in sociodemographic groups, which are residence, gender, education, age and income per person. The theoretical part explains the concepts such as global warming, sustainable development, ecological footprint, carbon footprint, and three already realized research on carbon footprint. The practical part describes the data acquisition, GILDED project, which was the inspiration for this thesis and method for calculating the carbon footprint. The main part consists of evaluating the calculated results, not overall carbon footprint, but also comparisons within categories of residence, gender, education, age, and income per person. The thesis finishes with the summary, which summarizes the most important results. Diplomová práce se zabývá uhlíkovou stopou jihočeských domácností, tedy množstvím emisí skleníkových plynů spojených s běžnými aktivitami každého z nás. Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je výpočet uhlíkové stopy domácností v Jihočeském kraji. Dílčím cílem je následně posoudit, která ze sledovaných složek má největší podíl na celkové uhlíkové stopě. Těmito složkami je vytápění, elektřina, automobil, hromadná doprava, létání a potraviny. Dalším dílčím cíle je porovnat získané výsledky v rámci sociodemografických skupin, kterými jsou bydliště, pohlaví, vzdělání, věk a příjem na osobu. Teoretická část objasňuje danou problematiku a zabývá se pojmy, jakými jsou globální oteplování, trvale udržitelný rozvoj, ekologická stopa, uhlíková stopa a také třemi již uskutečněnými výzkumy řešící uhlíkovou stopou. V praktické části je popsán způsob získání dat, projekt GILDED, který byl inspirací pro tuto diplomovou práci a způsob výpočtu uhlíkové stopy. Hlavní část tvoří vyhodnocení vypočtených výsledků, a to nejen celkové uhlíkové stopy, ale i porovnání v rámci kategorií bydliště, pohlaví, vzdělání, věk a příjem na osobu. Diplomová práce je ukončena závěrem, který shrnuje nejdůležitější výsledky.

Retail Availability in the South Bohemian Region

The main aim of my thesis is to evaluate the availability of a retail network of hypermarkets in South Bohemia region with help of ArcGIS 10.2 software. The retail availability is evaluated by using basic models and tools, that are commonly used in practical application. Availability is evaluated by Huff model, Thiessen polygons, Buffer and network-based on spatial analysis tools called Network Analyst. I researched companies in the region, which have at least one hypermarket. These companies are AHOLD Czech Republic, a.s., Globus ČR, k.s., Kaufland Česká republika, v.o.s. a Tesco Stores ČR, a.s. The outcome is analysis of the availability of the selected type of retail units in the South Bohemia region and also proposing of modifications. I found that retail availability in this region is on the adequate level. Bachelor thesis also include a theoretical part, which deals with the definition of terms, that I use in this work. Hlavním záměrem mojí bakalářské práce je zhodnocení maloobchodní dostupnosti sítě hypermarketů v Jihočeském kraji za pomoci programu ArcGIS 10.2. Tato maloobchodní dostupnost je hodnocena pomocí základních modelů a nástrojů, které se reálně běžně používají. Dostupnost je hodnocena pomocí Huffova gravitačního modelu, Thies-senových polygonů, modelu Buffer a nástrojem základní síťové analýzy Network Analystu. Zkoumala jsem společnosti, které na území kraje mají alespoň jeden hypermarket. Těmito společnostmi jsou AHOLD Czech Republic, a.s., Globus ČR, k.s., Kaufland Česká republika, v.o.s. a Tesco Stores ČR, a.s. Výstupem je tedy analýza dostupnosti vybraného typu maloobchodní jednotky v Jihočeském kraji a doporučení její úpravy. Zjistila jsem, že maloobchodní dostupnost v tomto kraji je na dostačující úrovni. Bakalářská práce také obsahuje teoretickou část, ve které se zabývám vymezením pojmů, které jsou v této práci použity.

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to map the availability of canistherapy in the South Bohemian Region and compare canis therapy services according to predetermined criteria. The theoretical part explains the concept of canistherapy and presents the development of canistherapy in the world and in the Czech Republic. It describes the various methods and forms of canistherapy. It introduces the preparation for the practice of canistherapy, which begins with a suitably selected dog, its training and ends with passing the canis therapy exam of the entire canistherapy team. The conclusion of the theoretical part points to the use of canistherapy in special pedagogy for pupils with visual, auditory, mental, physical, combined disabilities, for pupils with epilepsy, autism and ADHD. The aim of the practical part is to introduce individual canis therapy organizations and free canis therapists. At the end, the individual canis therapy facilities are recorded and compared in a table according to the criteria. Questionnaire and interview methods are used to achieve the goal. The result of the bachelor thesis is a comprehensive overview of available canis therapy services in the South Bohemian Region. Cílem bakalářské práce je zmapovat dostupnost canisterapie v jižních Čechách a porovnat canisterapeutické služby podle předem stanovených kritérií. Teoretická část vysvětluje pojem canisterapie a uvádí vývoj canisterapie ve světě i v České republice. Popisuje jednotlivé metody a formy canisterapie. Seznamuje s přípravou na praktikování canisterapie, která začíná vhodně vybraným psem, jeho výcvikem a končí složením canisterapeutické zkoušky celého canisterapeutického týmu. Závěr teoretické části poukazuje na využití canisterapie ve speciální pedagogice u žáků se zrakovým, sluchovým, mentálním, tělesným, kombinovaným postižením, u žáků s epilepsií, autismem a ADHD. Cílem praktické části je představení jednotlivých canisterapeutických organizací a canisterapeutů na volné noze. Na konci jsou jednotlivá canisterapeutická pracoviště zanesena a porovnána v tabulce podle kritérií. Pro dosažení cíle je využito metod dotazníku a rozhovoru. Výsledkem bakalářské práce je ucelený přehled dostupných canisterapeutických služeb v jižních Čechách.

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na problémy odpadového hospodářství Jihočeského kraje. Analyzuje rozbor stávajícího stavu odpadového hospodářství a zaměřuje se na problémy s tím spojené. Cílem práce je čtenáře seznámit se základními principy s nakládáním s odpady a hospodaření s nimi, možnosti financovaní, zásahy veřejného a soukromého sektoru a s problematikou legislativy s odpadovým hospodářstvím spojené.

The topic of my thesis is Investment activities in South Bohemia. The aim of my work was examining activities of investment in South Bohemia. In my work I wrote about the investments in general, investments in the Czech Republic and in the South Bohemia region. I gathered information from special literature, the internet, and I visited the institutions as regional authority of South Bohemia and corporate town of České Budějovice. In face of possibilities in investments of this region, the use of capacities is insufficient. In the region of South Bohemia we have many investments to transport infrastructure. If these investments are finished in the right time, in high-quality, it will increase investment to our region as for better transport connection. Supporting of investment and business is a very important thing. In our region there are institutions for supporting businessmen as a branch of CzechInvest in České Budějovice and the South Bohemia Economic Chambre, which provides advice to businessmen in the beginning of their business. The Regional authority of South Bohemia was established a new server about investment possibilities, but generally in our region there is a lack of information. The Regional Authority can give an attention of the server to the public. In my work I stated examples of future investments as the motorway D3, the railway Corridor R4 from Prague to České Budějovice to Austria and the airport in Planá near České Budějovice. Another investment is building a new town quarter in the area of Čtyři Dvory, the previous military area. Název mé bakaářské práce je Investiční aktivity v Jihočeském kraji. Na základě zadaného tématu a po poskytnutých informacích z různých úřadů, především Krajského úřadu Jihočeského kraje a statutárního města České Budějovice, byla vypracována praktická část. V praktické části byly rozebrány 4 významné veřejné investice. Je to dálnice D3, IV. tranzitní železniční koridor, Letiště v Plané u Českých Budějovic a zamýšlení vybudování nové čtvrti ve Čtyřech Dvorech v Českých Budějovicích.
