České překladatelství a tlumočnictví v EU

2008 - English The aim of my bachelor thesis is to write a user-friendly booklet referring to the importance of Czech translating and interpreting services in the European Union at general as well as practical level, focusing on individual language departments and services provided by translators and interpreters working in EU bodies. In the beginning of the thesis we will learn about the ways leading into the translating and interpreting department within the EU and their education. Second and third parts of the thesis introduce the Czech translation and interpretation departments and point out their significance. Short part of the thesis is dedicated to the helping tools that the European Union provides to the Czech translators and interpreters. The final part of the thesis informs about the private language companies and freelance translators and interpreters working for the EU. Cílem mé bakalářské práce je vytvořit přehlednou informační brožuru poukazující na význam českého překladatelství a tlumočnictví v Evropské unii a to jak v rovině obecné tak konkrétní, se zaměřením na jednotlivá jazyková oddělení a na vlastní práci překladatelů a tlumočníků v orgánech EU. Úvod práce pojednává o cestách vedoucích do řad českých tlumočníků a překladatelů v Evropské unii a s jejich nezbytným vzděláním. Druhá a třetí část práce je zaměřena na důležitost jednotlivých českých překladatelských a tlumočnických oddělení. Jednotlivá oddělení a jejich práce jsou v této kapitole podrobně představena. Krátká část je věnována formám pomoci, kterou Evropská unie poskytuje českým překladatelům a tlumočníkům a roli kterou v orgánech Evropské unie hrají soukromé jazykové agentury. 2019 - English This bachelor's thesis deals with the comparison of English and Vietnamese idioms. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical section. The theoretical section deals with the definition of idiom, its characteristic features, its classification and the differences between English and Vietnamese idioms. In the practical section, the English and Vietnamese idioms are compared, divided according to their degree of equivalence. Ve své bakalářské práci se zabývám srovnáním anglických a vietnamských idiomů. Práce je rozdělená na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části se věnuji definici idiomu, jeho charakteristickým znakům, klasifikaci a rozdílům mezi anglickými a vietnamskými idiomy. V praktické části jsou porovnány anglické a vietnamské idiomy, které jsou rozdělené podle stupně ekvivalence. 2021 - English The thesis will first introduce the genre of American Gothic based on the study of secondary sources (Punter, Hogle) and it will try to define the link between the gothic genre and the literary term of "the uncanny" according to Nicholas Royle. A separate chapter of the thesis will be devoted to the founder of American gothic genre, E.A. Poe, the characteristic of his short story writing and the motives that define the genre in the theoretical part of this thesis. The core of the thesis will be a comparative analysis of the work by the current author of the horror genre, Stephen King, and Poe´s short story writing. The objective of this thesis is capturing the work of the current author within the context of American Gothic literary tradition and based on the common features, evaluating the impact of tradition on the current horror genre, e.g. the motif of insanity, horror, fear, crime, violence, mysterious spaces. Práce nejprve představí žánr americké gotiky na základě studia sekundárních pramenů (Punter, Hogle) a pokusí se definovat spojitost gotického žánru a literárního pojmu "the uncanny" podle Nicholase Royla. Samostatná kapitola práce se bude věnovat zakladateli amerického gotického žánru E. A. Poeovi, charakteristice jeho povídkové tvorby a motivům, které žánr definují v teoretické rovině práce. Jádrem práce bude srovnávací analýza díla současného autora hororového žánru Stephena Kinga a Poeovy povídkové tvorby. Cílem práce je postihnout dílo současného autora v kontextu americké gotické literární tradice a na základě společných znaků posoudit vliv tradice na současný hororový žánr, např. motivy šílenství, hrůzy, strachu, zločinu, násilí, tajemných prostor. 2022 - English The bachelor thesis deals with two major historical events designed to celebrate British economy, engineering, and scientific and cultural achievements - the Great Exhibition of 1851 and Festival of Britain (1951) - from the perspective of national identity and the notion of Britishness. The first part of the thesis introduces both events, including the reasons leading to their realisation, their courses, impacts and the contemporary public responses. The main comparative-analytical part focuses on the ways of generating and representing a specific image of the British nation and forging British national identity. The comparative analysis is aimed at the identification of the relationship between the two events and the related political-cultural shifts in understanding British national identity. Bakalářská práce se zabývá dvěma významnými historickými událostmi oslavujícími britské úspěchy v oblasti hospodářství, techniky, vědy a kultury - Světové výstavy v roce 1851 a národní výstavy Festival of Britain (1951) - z hlediska vnímání britské národní identity a idey "britství" (Britishness). První část práce seznámí čtenáře s oběma událostmi, včetně důvodů, jež vedly k jejich konání, jejich průběhu, výsledků a soudobého vnímání veřejností. Hlavní komparačně-analytická část práce tkví v porovnání způsobů vytváření a prezentace specifického obrazu britského národa a prosazování britské národní identity v souvislosti se zkoumanými událostmi. Výstupem srovnávací analýzy je podchycení vztahu mezi oběma výstavami a souvisejícího politicko-kulturního posunu ve vnímání britské národní identity. The role of dietary haemoglobin in physiology and development of \kur{Ixodes ricinus} nymphal stage

2017 - English Obligatory blood feeding ensures consistent composition (both molecular and cellular) and provides a comprehensive source of nutrients. Ticks imbibe host blood meal in their all active stages. For that reason, they were hypothesised to loose some biosynthetic pathways at the expense of developing acquisition and transporting networks. Availability of genomic and transcriptomic data of Ixodes spp. ticks revealed that they have lost genes encoding enzymes, participant in haem biosynthesis. Using an artificial membrane feeding system of hard ticks, it was demonstrated that adult I. ricinus females acquire haem from a host haemoglobin and transport extracted haem into ovaries. Ovaries devoid of host haem deposits failed to undergo embryogenesis and halted tick reproduction. Questions how juvenile stages of ticks require haem and for what purposes is a focus of this bachelor thesis. Obligátní krmení na krvi zajišťuje konzistentní složení (molekulární i buněčné) a poskytuje komplexní zdroj živin. Klíšťata sají hostitelskou krev v každém vývojovém stádiu. Z tohoto důvodu se předpokládalo, že ztrací některé biosyntetické cesty na úkor rozvoje transportu živin. Dostupná genomická a transkriptomická data klíštěte Ixodes spp. odhalila, že ztratili geny kódující enzymy účastníci se biosyntézy haemu. Použitím umělé membránového sání tvrdých klíšťat bylo prokázáno, že dospělé samice I. ricinus získávají hem z haemoglobinu hostitele a dopravují ho do vaječníků. Ovarií zbaveného hostitelského haemu nedošlo k embryogenezi a tím se zastavila reprodukce klíšťat. Otázkou, za jakým účelem nymfální stádia klíšťat vyžadují haem, se zabývá tato bakalářské práce. 2023 - English The subject of the bachelor's thesis will be the life and literary work of the English author Arthur Ransome. The work will first focus on a detailed description of the author's life and what led him to write a children's book series, even though he lived a bohemian life and had extraordinary interests in culture and politics. The aim of the thesis is to critically evaluate the contradictory destinies and vicissitudes of the author's life based on biographical and autobiographical sources (Brogan, Chambers, Hyland, Ransome) and try to capture the essence of children's adventure stories in England with a focus on the characteristics of the Lake District) and its cultural heritage. At the end of the work, it compares the critical response and cultural significance of Ransom's stories in the 20th century and the present. Předmětem zkoumání bakalářské práce je život a dílo britského autora dětských knih příběhů o Vlaštovkách a Amazonkách Arthura Ransoma. Práce v úvodu představí životopis kontroverzního autora, který proslul jako autor série dětských příběhů a zároveň naplňoval představu bohémského životního stylu a nevšedních zájmů v kulturní i politické oblasti. Cílem práce je kriticky zhodnotit rozporuplné osudy a peripetie autorova života na základě biografických a autobiografických pramenů (Brogan, Chambers, Hyland, Ransome) a pokusit se vystihnout podstatu dětských dobrodružných příběhů meziválečného období v Anglii se zaměřením na charakteristiku regionu tzv. Jezerní oblasti (Lake District) a jeho kulturního dědictví. V závěru práce porovná kritickou odezvu a kulturní význam Ransomových příběhů ve 20. století a v současnosti.
