Goodwin's Predator-Prey Model with Endogenous Technological Progress

Contemporary economics contains mainly two approaches for an explanation of fluctuations of economic activity indicators. A purpose of this paper is to derive from traditional Goodwin's model the predator-prey model with the specific function for technological progress. Součásná ekonomie obsahuje hlavně dva přístupy pro vysvětlení funkce ekonomické aktivity. Cílem tohoto článku je odvodit z tradičního Goodvinova modelu predator-prey hru se specifickými funkcemi pro technologický pokrok.

The papers deals with an application od Bayes for estimationof the queue lenth in junction arm. This model splits controlled networks into microregions. The queue length and the occupancy of each junction approach are the bacis state quantities for fully expressed traffic situation at given time instant. The optimization criterion for this attitude is minimalization of the queue length. For clearness, the model is derived for simple junction. Článek se zabývá aplikací Bayesovského odhadování délky kolony na rameni křižovatky. Tento model rozděluje dopravní síť do mikroregionů. Délka kolony a obsazenost jsou základními veličinami, které plně popisují dopravní situaci v daném časovém okamžiku. Optimalizačním kritériem je v tomto případě minimalizace délky kolony. Pro názornost je model odvozen pro jednu křižovatku.

Identification of epileptic activity in electroencephalograms using four techniques of independent component analysis

The presented study aims to evaluate possibility of separation of epileptic activity from the EEG data using two well known and two recently proposed algorithms for independent component analysis (ICA): FastICA, EFICA, SOBI and WASOBI. All these techniques are shown to allow to concentrate an epileptic activityin two epilepsy-related independent components out of 19 channel EEG recordings. Among the techniques, the WASOBI was shown to be a most effective one. V clanku je zkoumana moznost separace epilepticke aktivity v EEG zaznamech pomoci dvou klasickych a dvou nedavno navrzenych metod slepe separace: FastICA, EFICA, SOBI a WASOBI. Tyto metody umoznuji pri zpracovani 19-kanaloveho EEG zaznamu epileptickou aktivitu vice-mene uspesne koncentrovat ve dvou signalovych komponetach. Mezi temito metodami se algoritmus WASOBI jevi jako ten ktery umoznuje nejpresnejsi separaci.

Analysis of unemployment as discretized spatial-temporal process

The article deals with the discretized version of spatial-temporal random point process model and uses it for the analysis of number of unemployed people. The real components are given by the districts of the Czech Republic and are tied together by a simple model of M.R.F. The temporal components develop as s time series, time runs in months through years 2000-2005. We distingvish between the effects of years and the seasonal (months) effects. The solution uses Bayes approach with MCMC computation. Práce používá diskretizovaný model časo-prostorového procesu k popisu vývoje počtu nezaměstnaných. Prostorová složka je dána okresy, je svázána jednoduchým modelem Markovova náhodného pole, časová složka se vyvíjí jako časová řada se sezonní komponentou. Statistická analýza - odhad parametrů modelu, je provedena Bayesovým způsobem s použitím MCMC procedur.

Our paper focuses on rapid prototyping and configuration tools for an embedded system. It will present novel concept of an image processing architecture based on interconnection of a programmable logical chip (FPGAs) with digital signal processor (DSP). In the paper, we shall outline a configuration tool tailored towards systems combining both DSP and FPGA, based on a configuration/programming scripting language and with a complex library of functions and modules for selected applications in signal and video processing. Článek představuje novou architekturu pro vývoj a implementaci aplikací zpracování obrazu. Systém se skládá z nástrojů pro rychlý vývoj aplikací - Simulinku, konfiguračních nástrojů převádějících popis Simulinkového modelu do tvaru vhodného pro implementaci na DSP a FPGA čipech.

On estimation and testing by means of disparities based on m-spacings

The a.s. converegence of disparity statistics based on m-spacings of data is proved. This convergence enables to construct unbiased estimates of some functionals of probability distributions and also goodness-of-fit tests based on m-spacings. Limitní věta typu zákona velkých čísel se dokazuje pro disparitní statistiky založené na m-intervalování uspořádaných dat. Tato věta umožňuje konstruovat odhady některých funkcionálů pravděpodobnostních distribucí a taktéž testy dobré shody založené na m-intervalování.

The aim of this work is to identify genes whose expression is affected by exposure to the allergens but not by the irritants. The inference is based on a dataset containing 72 microarrays.

The paper recals the MCMC methods, namely the Gibbs algorithm, the Metropolis--Hastings algorithm and variants used for solution of optimization problems, namely the simulated annealing. The objective is to describe the schemes of the algorithms, to recall their theoretical foundation, and to show their use both in Bayes data analysis and in randomized optimization problem. Práce připomíná podstatu a algoritmy Markov chain Monte Carlo metod (Gibbsův sampler, algoritmus Metropolise a Hastingse) a ukazuje jejich použití jak v Bayesovské analýze dat, tak v problému optimalizace, ve spojení se simulovaným žíháním.

The estimation of queue lengths via local filters is depend on initial settings of covariances and state parameters if they are unknown. Using of Subspace methods looks as a good possibilities for initial settings but the traffic problem is so complicated that it is not possible used the Subspace methods generally. Odhad délky kolon pomocí lokálních filtrů je závislý na počátečním nastavení kovariancí stavu i měření a stavových parametrů, v případě jejich neznalosti. Použití Subspace methods se ukazuje jako dobrá možnost k zjištění těchto počátečních podmínek, ale pro dopravní problém, který není triviální, je nutno základní algoritmy upravit.
