Conductive poly[(ethylenedioxy)thiophene] films

Poly[3,4-(ethylenedioxy)thiophene] films were prepared by oxidative polymerization using iron(III) tosylate in alcoholic medium. The films form two types of layers; the first deposited, insoluble layer shows AC electrical conductivity ranging from 35 to 40.S.cm.sup.-1./sup., the top, soluble layer shows a much higher conductivity. Oxidativní polymerizací byly s použitím tozylátu železitého připraveny v prostředí alkoholu filmy, tvořící dva typy vrstev. První nerozpustná vykazuje AC elektrickou vodivost sahající od 35 do 40 .S.cm na -1. Horní vodivá vrstva vykazuje AC vodivost značně vyšší. Simple timing of MATLAB GUIs used in MS-Windows for data acquisition

The contribution proposes an elegant possibility of timing in the basic MATLAB. The timer is a small program running in the Windows environment. Its function is to periodically click a pushbutton in a GUI by simulating an action of a mouse through sending on appropriate message into the Windows message queue. The timer can be used in cases when sampling or other action is to be done periodically in time points. These cases are e.g. data acquisition or periodical monitoring of some dangerous status of the controlled instruments. Impact of weathering on chemical and morphological changes in stabilized polymers

Photooxidation, considered as the principal component of natural and accelerated weathering, affects together with oxygen,oxidizing and acid atmospheric pollutants durability of stabilized polymers by changing their chemical and supramolecular structure and influencing efficiency of stabilizers. Effects of the harshness of accelerated photooxidation, negative influences of atmospheric pollutants, heterogeneity in polymer oxidation together with formation of concentration gradients in stabilizer consumption and spatial distribution of stabilizer sacrificial transformation products are outlined. The data give more information on processes accompanying testing of stabilizer polymers and help to minimize misleading influences from over-accelerated tests.
