Cosmology on Small Scales 2022: Dark Energy and the Local Hubble Expansion Problem

One hundred years ago, Russian mathematician and physicist Alexander A. Friedmann applied the system of Einstein equations to the three-dimensional sphere with a time varying radius. In this way, he obtained a nonlinear ordinary differential equation which is called the Friedmann equation after him and serves now as a cornerstone of the standard cosmological model. Unfortunately, it is well known that this model exhibits a number of paradoxes. Thus, the main goal of the CSS 2022 Conference Proceedings is to discuss whether and how the Friedmann equation can be applied at the various spatial scales, from our local cosmic neighborhood up to the whole Universe, and if the existence of dark matter and dark energy are merely artifacts of the excessive extrapolations.

NIVB Meeting 2022

The first annual meeting of the National Institute of Virology and Bacteriology (NIVB) in Kutná Hora on 30.11.–2.12. is an opportunity for participating teams to meet, discuss excellent science, establish collaborations, and introduce the project to the members of our newly established International Science Advisory Board. The primary objective of NIVB is to mediate the cooperation among the 28 participating research teams from 8 Czech research institutions: Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Institute of Molecular Genetic, and Biological Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, and Palacký University in Olomouc. We are delighted that it was possible to arrange the meeting of all the participating research groups, which reflects the scientific breadth of NIVB. The research interests of the participating groups can be broadly assigned into the programs of (1) Pathogen-host interactions, (2) Immunity against viruses and bacteria, and (3) Treatments for viral and bacterial infections. We thank all participants for contributing 28 presentations and 65 posters to the meeting. This conference is a pioneering endeavor, the first meeting that will bridge the virology and bacteriology communities from the Czech Republic. While the research interests of all the participating groups are focused on virology and bacteriology, the contributing laboratories are very diverse in the research methodologies they employ. Therefore, the meeting has the potential to enable the establishment of new scientific collaborations among the participating teams, which is the main objective of NIVB.\nNIVB Meeting 2022 has the ambition to launch a new series of annual meetings on virology and bacteriology and aims at informing wider scientific community about new development, trends and issues in these scientific fields.

The objective of PHYSMOD is to bring together the community active in physical and numerical modeling of flow and dispersion processes occurring in the lowest part of the atmosphere using wind tunnels, water channels, or CFD models. PHYSMOD provides a forum where the most recent advances in fluid modeling, state-of-the-art in experimental work, and newly emerging research areas are discussed in an open-minded and friendly atmosphere. One of the main purposes is to encourage broader collaboration between researchers and transfer knowledge between the laboratories as well as generations. \n\n

The joint International Interdisciplinary Conference of Chemical Analysis, APCE-CECE-ITP-IUPAC 2022, comprising the 18th Asia Pacific International Symposium on Microscale Separations and Analyses, the 17th International Interdisciplinary Meeting on Bioanalysis, the 28th International Symposium on Electro- and Liquid Phase-Separation Techniques, and IUPAC Special Symposia by Division of Chemistry and the Environment, provided full texts of 108 oral and 54 poster presentations. The attached conference proceedings, edited by highly cited scientists, document the quality of the meeting. Similarly to previous years, the lectures were given by distinguished scientists. The list of speakers as well as more detailed information about the conference can be found on its permanent web at www.ce-ce.org or in the proceedings published in Separations (https://doi.org/10.3390/separations10020109).

Sborník představuje souhrn abstraktů příspěvků na 21. ročníku konference Počítačová podpora v archeologii. Tématem konference byla Archeologie otevřených dat. Příspěvky se soustředily zejména na výzkumné a další využití dat, která jsou dávána otevřeně k dispozici (např. pocházejí z otevřených databází či jiných obdobných zdrojů). Cílem konference bylo diskutovat o možnostech opakovaného použití dat v archeologii v souladu s FAIR principy. Program byl dále doplněn o tematické workshopy k problematice opakovaného použití dat (data re-use). The proceedings present a summary of the abstracts of talks presented at the 21st annual Computer Applications in Archaeology conference. The theme of the conference was Archaeology of Open Data. Talks focused mainly on research and other use of data that are made openly available (e.g. they come from open databases or other similar sources). The goal of the conference was to discuss the possibilities of data reuse in archaeology in accordance with the FAIR principles. The program was further supplemented with thematic workshops on data reuse.
