The presented doctoral thesis deals with the hitherto neglected personality of the Slovak politician Ivan Markovič (1888-1944). The aim of the thesis is to clarify the political activity of Ivan Markovič, to analyze his ideological anchoring and to increase the overall awareness of his person in the context of Czecho-Slovak relations in the first half of the 20th century. The thesis is divided into four chapters and an epilogue, while the individual chapters are devoted to the study of various time and thematic contexts in which Markovič was active. The first chapter introduces the research into the broader context of Czecho-Slovak relations and the background of the first years of Markovič's life. The second chapter examines his work as the founder and editor of the magazine Prúdy in the period before the outbreak of the First World War. The third chapter deals with his activities in the resistance movement abroad during the war. Finally, the fourth chapter deals with the activities of Markovič in the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Worker's Party and his involvement in the top politics of the interwar Czechoslovak Republic. The epilogue presents the last years of Markovič's life as a political prisoner in Nazi concentration camps and outlines the destinies of his family. For the research of... Predkladaná dizertačná práca sa venuje doposiaľ opomínanej osobnosti slovenského politika Ivana Markoviča (1888-1944). Cieľom práce je objasnenie politického pôsobenia Ivana Markoviča, analýza jeho ideologického ukotvenia a celkové zvýšenie povedomia o jeho osobe v kontexte česko-slovenských vzťahov prvej polovice 20. storočia. Práca je rozdelená na štyri kapitoly a epilóg, pričom jednotlivé kapitoly sa venujú skúmaniu rôznych časových i tematických kontextov, v ktorých bol Markovič činný. Prvá kapitola práce uvádza výskum do širších súvislostí česko-slovenských vzťahov na pozadí prvých rokov života Markoviča. Druhá kapitola skúma jeho činnosť ako zakladateľa a redaktora časopisu Prúdy v čase pred vypuknutím prvej svetovej vojny. Odbojovým aktivitám v zahraničí v rokoch trvania vojnového konfliktu sa venuje tretia kapitola. Napokon štvrtá kapitola práce sa zaoberá činnosťou Markoviča v Československej sociálnodemokratickej strane robotníckej a jeho pôsobením vo vrcholovej politike medzivojnovej Československej republiky. Epilóg predstavuje posledné roky života Markoviča ako politického väzňa v nacistických koncentračných táboroch a načrtáva ďalšie osudy jeho rodiny. Critical and residual states are key soil conditions relevant to slope stability. Evaluating the available shear strength in relation to these conditions is crucial for reliable stability analyses. The best way to determine the strength parameters is through properly selected laboratory tests of soil mechanics. However, in specific cases, these parameters can be estimated based on other material properties of soils. The work clarifies the applicability of various correlation equations from the literature and proposes new relationships, created from laboratory- determined results of strength and index parameters of soils from the Bohemian Central Mountains. It shows how different equations or different material properties of soils can predict the required value of strength. The work also describes how the residual strength of soils and its estimation can be affected. This is mainly caused by the clay fraction proportion and by the shear rate used in its laboratory determination. The results are applied to a specific geotechnical problem - to estimate the critical state and the residual friction angle of soils from the selected study area of the D8 motorway, which is well known thanks to the stability problems. Last but not least, various errors and misunderstandings are discussed, which are often... Kritická a reziduálna pevnosť zemín sú zásadnými parametrami riadiacimi stabilitu svahu. Ich správne určenie je predpokladom úspešného inžinierskogeologického, resp. geotechnického prieskumu či posudku. Najvhodnejšou cestou stanovenia pevnostných parametrov je prostredníctvom správne zvolených laboratórnych skúšok mechaniky zemín. V špecifických prípadoch ale môžu byť tieto parametre odhadnuté na základe iných materiálových vlastností zemín. Práca objasňuje použiteľnosť rôznych korelačných rovníc z literatúry a navrhuje nové vzťahy, vytvorené z laboratórne stanovených výsledkov pevnostných a indexových parametrov zemín z Českého stredohoří. Prehľadne ukazuje, ako sú rôzne rovnice či rôzne materiálové vlastnosti zemín schopné predpovedať požadovanú hodnotu pevnosti. Práca taktiež popisuje, čím a ako môže byť reziduálna pevnosť zemín a tým aj jej odhad ovplyvnený. Jedná sa hlavne o podiel ílovej frakcie v zemine a rýchlosť šmyku pri jej laboratórnom stanovení. Výsledky sú aplikované na konkrétny geotechnický problém, a to na odhad pevnosti v kritickom stave a reziduálnej pevnosti zemín z okolia Prackovickej estakády a priľahlého násypu diaľnice D8, ktoré dlhodobo zužujú stabilitné problémy. Možnosti augmentace elektrokonvulzivní terapie

In the theoretical part of our study, we provide a systematic review of contemporary methods (pharmacological and non-pharmacological) of ECT augmentation, as scored by three factors - manipulation of the seizure threshold, length of therapeutic seizures and the effect on ECT efficacy measured by the total number of ECT sessions and the rate/quantity of change on used objective/subjective scales. We also provide a summary of possible side effects and risks associated with the use of respective ECT augmentation methods. In the research part of our study, we explore the effect of high frequency transcranial magnetic stimulation on the respective ECT parameters, in a double blinded, placebo controlled, randomised study on a sample of 46 patients treated for a major depressive episode. During ECT titration, we registered a significantly lower seizure threshold in the experimental group, an average decrease in charge by 34.55%, from 34.23mC to 22.4mC, p< 0.001 (Wilcox test). We have not observed a significant effect of HF rTMS on the length of seizure or ECT efficacy. Our study confirms the hypothesis, that the application of HF rTMS briefly before an ECT session reduces the seizure threshold, which might be useful in certain types of patients. V teoretickej časti našej práce poskytujeme súdobý systematický literárny prehľad farmakologických a nefarmakologických metód augmentácie elektrokonvulzívnej terapie, ktorú zhodnocujeme na základe troch faktorov - ovplyvnenia výšky záchvatového prahu, dĺžky liečebného záchvatu a efektivity EKT meranej pomocou celkového počtu aplikácií a rýchlosti/množstva zmeny skóre na použitých vyhodnocovacích škálach. Zároveň uvádzame prehľad možných rizík a vedľajších účinkov, ktoré sú s jednotlivými metódami augmentácie spojené. Vo výskumnej časti zhodnocujeme vplyv vysokofrekvenčnej transkraniálnej magnetickej stimulácie na jednotlivé parametre liečby EKT. Ide o dvojito zaslepenú, placebom kontrolovanú randomizovanú štúdiu na vzorke 46 pacientov liečených EKT pre depresívnu symptomatiku. Počas EKT titrácie sme zaznamenali signifikantné zníženie záchvatového prahu v experimentálnej skupine, ktorá bola pred liečbou EKT stimulovaná HF rTMS, ide priemerne o pokles náboja o 34,55 %, z 34,23 mC na 22,4 mC, p < 0,001 (Wilcoxov test). Neobservovali sme signifikantný vplyv HF rTMS na dĺžku záchvatu a efektivitu EKT. Naša práca potvrdzuje hypotézu, že aplikácia vysokofrekvenčnej transkraniálnej magnetickej stimulácie tesne pred EKT znižuje záchvatový prah, čo môže byť užitočné u niektorých typov pacientov.

Despite advances in research and therapy, cardiovascular diseases are still the leading cause of death worldwide. A closer understanding of the endogenous protective mechanism may improve pharmacological interventions for the treatment of heart diseases. Cold acclimation or hardening has strong potential for reducing cardiovascular risk and the literature shows that it stimulates the β-adrenergic and thyroid systems in tissues. At the same time, the adrenergic system in the heart is one of the main regulators of cardiac activity. However, these signaling pathways have surprisingly not been studied at the protein level in the heart yet, and no studies can be found on the subject matter in current literature. Our results show a reduced infarct size induced by ischemic injury in cold-acclimated rats (CA) at 8 ř C for 5 weeks and then returning to normothermic conditions for 2 weeks (CAR). The aim of this dissertation is to determine, the degree of involvement of the adrenergic system in the myocardium during acclimation after 3 days, 10 days, 5 weeks of CA and subsequent CAR at the level of all three β-adrenergic receptor isoforms (β-ARs) and their signaling pathways. Navzdory pokrokom vo výskume a terapii sú kardiovaskulárne ochorenia stále najčastejšou príčinou úmrtí na celom svete. Objasnenie endogénneho protektívneho mechanizmu môže zlepšiť farmakologické intervencie pre liečbu srdcových ochorení. Chladová adaptácia alebo otužovanie predstavuje dobrý potenciál pre zníženie kardiovaskulárneho rizika a z literatúry vyplýva, že v tkanivách stimuluje β-adrenergný a tyroidný systém. Zároveň je adrenergný systém v srdci jedným z hlavných regulátorov srdcovej činnosti. Tieto signálne dráhy však prekvapivo doteraz neboli na proteínovej úrovni v srdci študované a v súčasnej literatúre neexistujú takmer žiadna práca zaoberajúca sa touto témou. Naše doterajšie výsledky ukázali zníženú veľkosť infarktu navodením ischemického poškodenia u chladovo adaptovaných potkanov (CA) pri 8 řC, 5 týždňov a následného vrátenia do normotermálnych podmienok na 2 týždne (CAR). Cieľom tejto dizertačnej práce je stanoviť mieru zapojenia adrenergného systému v myokarde v priebehu adaptácie po 3 dňoch, 10 dňoch, 5 týždňoch CA a následnej CAR na úrovni všetkých troch izoforiem -adrenergných receptorov (β-ARs) a ich signálnych dráh. The aim of the dissertation is to analyse works of a Moscow conceptualist Dmitrij Prigov. Prigov approached his medially diversified legacy (that was characterized by media diversity and quantitative hypertrophy) as a life-long project Dmitrij Aleksandrovič Prigov. (project DAP). One of the goals of the project was to remain unidentified, which means to suspend the straight-forward relation between an individual media product and the intention of the authorial subject. However, the connection between the media products and the authorial subject preserved. It is the modality of the connection that changed. The dissertation focuses on the analysis of the modality of the connection. The research begins with an analysis of the media products and proceeds toward the issue of authorial subjetʼs identity construction. Nevertheless, it is the media products that the identity of the authorial subject is constructed by. Authorial subject, however, plays the role of the (co-)agent in the production process of the media products together with other non-human agents like iterable patterns, instruments, techniques and semiotic systems. Methodologically, the dissertation emerges from the intersection of media theories, social theories and the theoretical reflection of the phenomena gathered under the umbrella... Predkladaná dizertačná práca skúma tvorbu moskovského konceptualistu Dmitrija Prigova. Autor svoju mediálne diverzifikovanú a kvantitatívne hypertrofovanú tvorbu koncipoval ako celoživotný projekt Dmitrij Alexandrovič Prigov (projekt DAP). Jedným z cieľov takto koncipovanej tvorby bolo zostať neidentifikovaným, čím sa mieni suspendácia väzieb individuálnych mediálnych produktov na intenciu autorského subjektu. Väzby medzi mediálnymi produktmi a autorským subjektom však pretrvávajú aj naďalej. Práve analýzam modality týchto väzieb sa venuje predkladaná dizertačná práca. Postupuje sa pritom od analýz mediálnych produktov k analýzam formovania identity autorského subjektu. Sú to práve mediálne produkty, z ktorých sa identita autorského subjektu formuje. Autorský subjekt je súčasne chápaný ako (spolu)činiteľ v procese produkcie mediálnych produktov spolu s ďalšími mimo-ľudskými činiteľmi, akými sú opakovateľné vzorce, nástroje, techniky a semiotické systémy. Metodologicky je práca dotovaná nielen mediálnou, ale aj sociálnou teóriou, a vychádza tiež z teoretickej reflexie fenoménov zoskupených pod pojmom performativita (od konštrukcie výpovedí ku konštrukcii subjektov a ich identít). This dissertation is devoted to a monographic processing of the work of sculptress Maria Bartuszová (1936, Prague - 1996, Košice). Methodologically, it is mainly based on the compilation and evaluation of knowledge from the in-depth research of the first list of works of M. Bartuszová "Catalogue Raisonné 2012-2018", Collection of drawings and photographs from the Archive of M. Bartuszová, biography, exhibitions and bibliography. It is divided into four chapters, in which it deals with the sculpture of M. Bartuszová, its transformations in the period of her ceramics studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture during the 1950s in Prague, continues by tracking her sculptural beginnings since 1961, and it deals with the circumstances of her relocation to Košice where she lived most of her life. It tracks her work during the normalization period of the 1970s until the end of the 1980s, when the totalitarian regime ended with the Velvet revolution. It explores the reasons why her work was little exhibited and also why it was little known and reflected by the professional circles. Based on the process of assembling parts of the organism of her oeuvre reconstructs technological experimental procedures, original terminology of the sculptor, creative intentions, dating of works and their... Dizertačná práca je venovaná monografickému spracovaniu tvorby sochárky Marie Bartuszovej (1936, Praha-1996, Košice). Metodologicky je postavená najmä na zostavení a vyhodnotení poznatkov z hĺbkového výskumu prvého súpisu diel M. Bartuszovej "Catalogue raisonné 2012-2018", Fondu kresieb a fotografií Archívu M. Bartuszovej, biografie, výstavnej činnosti a bibliografie. Je členená do štyroch kapitol, v ktorých sa zaoberá sochárskou tvorbou M. Bartuszovej, jej premenami v období od štúdií keramiky na VŠUP v 50. rokoch v Prahe, pokračuje sledovaním jej sochárskych začiatkov od roku 1961, venuje sa okolnostiam presťahovania sa do Košíc, kde prežila väčšinu svojho života. Jej tvorbu sleduje počas normalizačného obdobia 70. rokov do záveru rokov osemdesiatych, keď sa totalitný režim skočil zamatovou revolúciou. Legal aspects of university funding Abstract The topic of the dissertation is the legal aspects of universities funding in selected European countries, but especially the countries of the European Union. The choice of the topic of the dissertation resulted from my interest in this specific issue, which is an integral part of financial law and financial science as an important branch of law as a scientific discipline. I set the goals of the dissertation in accordance with the theoretical-empirical- application character of the dissertation. The main goal of the dissertation is to analyze in detail the legal aspects of funding terciar education institutions in the countries of the European Union and other European countries, while I will also state the necessary connections in the context of the topic, which also applies to private universities. I will elaborate the issue of legal aspects of university financing, especially in the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Hungary and the Republic of Poland. Of course, we will work on the topic in terms of specifics in other European countries with emphasis on university funding from all existing, possible and potential resources. In the empirical parts of the dissertation I will look for answers to the questions, what is the scope of other possibilities of legal... Témou dizertačnej práce sú právne aspekty financovania vysokých škôl vo vybraných krajinách Európy, najmä však krajín Európskej únie. Výber témy dizertačnej práce vyplynul z môjho záujmu o túto špecifickú problematiku, ktorá je neoddeliteľnou súčasťou finančného práva a finančnej vedy ako významného odvetvia práva ako vednej disciplíny. Ciele dizertačnej práce som stanovila v súlade s teoreticko-empiricko-aplikačným charakterom dizertačnej práce. Hlavným cieľom dizertačnej práce je podrobne analyzovať právne aspekty financovania vysokých škôl v krajinách Európskej únie a ďalších krajinách Európy, pričom budem uvádzať aj nevyhnutné súvislosti v kontexte témy, ktoré sa týkajú aj súkromných vysokých škôl. Problematiku právnych aspektov financovania vysokých škôl budem podrobne rozpracovávať najmä v Českej republike, v Slovenskej republike, v Maďarsku a v Poľskej republike, samozrejme tému rozpracujeme z hľadiska špecifík aj v ďalších krajinách Európy práve s dôrazom na oblasť financovania vysokých škôl zo všetkých existujúcich, možných i potenciálnych zdrojov. Dissertation thesis deals with the construction of the identity of Slovak art modernism in the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic (1918-1938) within the context of the official ideology of Czechoslovakism and in relation to Czech modern art. For many artists, theorists, and art historians in Slovakia, who, as part of the intelligentsia, felt obliged in the newly formed state to create and confirm a national identity through art, the search for Slovakness in art was crucial. This search was influenced by the nature of Czech - Slovak cultural relations, mutual misunderstandings, and stereotypes. The forms of Slovak modernism were formed in close connection with Czech modernism and at the same time as resistance to it. In this sense, we can consider the emphasis on Slovakness in the fine arts as an attempt not to merge artistically with the current of Czech art modernism. This study thus examines how national identity is constructed through the visual arts and what role plays its broader cultural and political background. Dizertačná práca skúma formovanie programovo slovenskej výtvarnej moderny v období prvej Československej republiky (1918-1938) v kontexte oficiálnej ideológie čechoslovakizmu a vo vzťahu k českému výtvarnému umeniu. Pre mnohých umelcov, teoretikov a historikov umenia na území Slovenska, ktorí ako súčasť inteligencie cítili povinnosť v novo sformovanom štáte vytvárať a potvrdzovať národnú identitu prostredníctvom umenia, bolo hľadanie slovenskosti v umení zásadné. Toto hľadanie bolo ovplyvnené charakterom česko - slovenských kultúrnych vzťahov, vzájomnými nedorozumeniami a stereotypmi. Podoby slovenských modernizmu sa utvárali v úzkej väzbe na českú modernu a zároveň ako rezistencia voči nej. V tomto zmysle môžeme zdôrazňovanie slovenskosti vo výtvarnom umení, a to aj dôrazom na námet považovať za snahu nesplynúť umelecky s prúdom českej moderny. Táto štúdia tak sleduje, akým spôsobom sa konštruuje národná identita prostredníctvom výtvarného umenia a akú úlohu pri tom zohráva širšie kultúrne a politické pozadie umeleckého prevádzky.
