Chemical Composition of PM2.5 at Rural Backround Site Košetice
Schwarz, Jaroslav; Havránek, Vladimír
2011 - English
PM2.5 generally represents fine fraction of atmospheric aerosol. Fine particles may remain in the atmosphere for days or even weeks and therefore they may be transported over long distances. Moreover, they may increase the background levels of atmospheric aerosol mass far from their origin. They have important adverse health effects and in the same time, they influence climate due to their direct and indirect effects on Earth radiative balance. To know the origin of PM2.5 aerosol, its chemical composition can serve as the diary of contacts with aerosol sources and transformations. Therefore it is necessary to study PM2.5 chemical composition if the fine aerosol sources should be revealed. A rural background site study can serve as a basis enabling to determine the real influence of larger sources like cities or an industry. Keywords: PM2.5; elemental composition; chemical composition Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Critical Notes on Heterogeneous Photocatalysis on TiO2 Photocatalysts
Klusoň, Petr; Hejda, S.
2011 - English
In our recent works we described different types of titania based materials used as either colloids or thin films. These were functionally characterized in photo-induced electrochemical measurements and/or in photocatalytic oxidations. Special attention was paid to the effect of organized internal structure induced by templating principles as an alternative to plasma enhanced physical methods. Considerable work has also been undertaken on research of porphyrine based photoactive macromolecules, which are efficient producers of singlet oxygen species upon well defined illumination. Keywords: titanium oxide; heterogeneous photocatalysis; thin films Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Excimer Laser-Induced CVD of Carbon Encapsulated Cobalt Nanoparticles
Fajgar, Radek; Maryško, Miroslav; Dřínek, Vladislav; Kupčík, Jaroslav; Šubrt, Jan
2011 - English
Decomposition of acetylene / Co(CO)(3)(NO)mixtures induced by excimer ArF laser pulses is an efficient technique for preparation of amorphous cobalt nanoparticles encapsulated in carbon. Vacuum heating up to 900 degrees C leads to crystallization the metal core. The cobalt core crystallizes in a face-centered cubic (beta) form as revealed by X-ray and electron diffraction techniques and carbon affords graphite outer part. Properties of the Co(core) - carbon(shell)nanocomposites were examined by spectroscopy and microscopy techniques. Magnetization studies revealed paramagnetic behavior of the as-prepared amorphous deposit and superparamagnetic behavior of the annealed samples. Keywords: amorphous cobalt nanoparticles; carbon encapsulation; magnetic properties Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Theoretical Interpretation of Enantioselectivity Trends in (R)-Ru-BINAP Catalyzed Hydrogenation of Methylacetoacetate in the QAS Ionic Liquid Phase
Dytrych, Pavel; Klusoň, Petr; Floriš, Tomáš; Lísal, Martin; Slater, M.
2011 - English
An essential part of this work was focused on the role of the alkyl chain length in NR 222Tf2N and its reflection in the evaluated kinetic parameters. For this screening NR 222Tf2N was mixed with methanol using the one-to-one weight ratio. A New Look on the Nernst Model in Electrochemistry
Wein, Ondřej
2011 - English
The present paper is inspired by the electrodiffusion (ED) flow measurement, utilizing the limiting-diffusion regime (LDR) in two-electrode ED cells. The electrochemical testing and calibrations of the ED cells is based on two standard electrochemical techniques - quasi-steady voltammetry and voltage-step transient. Recently published theory of the voltage-step transient under simultaneous effect of Faradaic and Ohmic resistances is based on a suitably extended Nernst model. An analogous theory of the voltammetric experiment is presented here. Keywords: nernst model of diffusion layer; primary current distribution; voltammetric curve Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Kogenerace s využitím biomasy, vhodné výkony a možnosti efektivního využití tepla
Svoboda, Karel
2011 - English
Keywords: biomass; cogeneration; efficiency Available at various institutes of the ASCR
