Typology of Post-Industrial Landscape in Usti Region

The location, mapping and typology of post-industrial landscapes (PIL) are the most common requirements of planners and decision makers on all levels of administration or resolution. Data on industrial heritage was applied for the identification and typology of the post-industrial landscapes on the regional level on the example of the Usti Region in the North of the Czech Republic. This Region was presumably the most industrialized territory in the country and was significantly changed after the structural changes in regional economy. The industrial heritage is represented by objects and traces in any landscape left by the industry in the previous period which is not serving the present industrial activities. Accessible data sources on man-made land, land use, brownfields, undermined sites, contaminated sites, industrial architectural heritage, etc. were applied to identify and classify the post-industrial landscape (PIL) in the study region using GIS technology.

Příspěvek se zabývá možnostmi monitorování chování a testování únosnosti kotevních systémů používaných v podmínkách hlubinných dolů OKR. V článku jsou prezentovány některé výsledky a příklady testování in situ i v laboratorních podmínkách. The paper deals with some posssibilities of monitoring behaviour and the rock bolt systems testing using in coal mines of Ostrava Karvina Coalfield. There are some results and the examples of the rock bolt testing in situ and the laboratory conditions in this contribution.

Vliv vlhkosti na lomovou houževnatost pískovce

Předložený příspěvek představuje další výsledky měření lomové houževnatosti hornin. Byl studován vliv vlhkosti na lomové parametry pískovce. Měření byla provedena v podmínkách laboratoře Ústavu geoniky na vybraných horninách. The presented paper presents another results of the rocks fracture toughness measurement. The influence of the water content on the fracture parameters was investigates. The measurements were realized on selected rocks in the laboratory conditions in the Institute of Geonics AS CR.

V roce 2011 bude vydáno monotématické číslo časopisu EGRSE – International Journal of Exploration Geophysics, Remote Sensing and Environment (CD-ROM ISSN 1803-1447), v němž budou představeny hlavní výsledky výzkumné práce na Dole Jeroným v uplynulém období. V časopise je plánována prezentace výsledků rešerše z historicko-montánního hlediska, geomechanického a seizmologického monitoringu a též povrchového geofyzikálního a morfologického průzkumu. EGRSE – International Journal of Exploration Geophysics, Remote Sensing and Environment (CD-ROM ISSN 1803-1447) will be issued in 2011. Presentation of main research results in Jeroným Mine will be the topic of this journal. Retrieval of knowledge in historic - mining viewpoint, geomechanical and seismological monitoring data and surface geophysical and morphological survey data are presented.

Příspěvek se zabývá novou formulací teorie pro technologie řezání vodním paprskem modulovaným do analytického modelu.Byla zkoumána základní frekvence pro modulované kmity technologii řezání vodním paprskem. Teoretický model byl vyvinut zejména na základě poznatků z geometrických rozměrů systému a kapalných tlaků za účelem odhadu hodnoty základních frekvencí oscilací. Předpovídané oscilační frekvence byly ověřeny laboratorními měřeními. Bylo dosaženo významného zlepšení výkonu v povrchovém rozpadu materiálu obráběním. The paper deals with a new formulation of theory for modulated waterjet technology by analytical model. The fundamental oscillations frequency for modulated waterjet technology has been investigated. This system generates a modulated liquid jet as a result of the resonant chamber introduction. The theoretical model was developed particularly on the basis of knowledge of the geometric dimensions of the system and the liquid pressures in order to predict the values of the fundamental frequencies of oscillations. The predicted oscillation frequencies were verified by laboratory measurements. It has been achieved a significant performance improvement in surface disintegration of material being machined.

Povodně – přirozený jev, který ale pokaždé překvapí

V posledních dvou desetiletích se v České republice téměř každý rok vyskytují ničivé povodně, které postihují území většího či menšího rozsahu (jen v roce 2010 tomu bylo třikrát). Obzvláště velkým překvapením byla povodňová katastrofa v létě 1997, která většinu lidí zaskočila, protože už několik generací podobný hydrologický extrém nezažilo - došlo ke ztrátě historické povodňové paměti. Dříve totiž lidé, žijící u velkých řek, s tímto většinou každoročním přirozeným jevem počítali, v průběhu 20. století se však změnil vztah obyvatel, žijících v říční krajině, i celé společnosti k řekám a jevům, ke kterým na nich dochází..Proto je nutné povodňovou paměť stále oživovat, což je cílem tohoto příspěvku. Připomíná a dokumentuje několik významných, dnes již zapomenutých, povodní na moravských, popř. českých řekách od konce 16. století do současnosti a jejich impakty. In the last twenty years, disastrous floods occurring in the Czech Republic affected smaller or larger areas (three extreme events occurred in 2010 alone). A particularly great surprise was the flood disaster in the summer of 1997, which caught a greater part of the population unprepared because several generations had not experienced a similar hydrological extreme – the historic memory of floods had been lost. In the past, people living along large rivers took into account the usual and often annually occurring natural phenomenon. However, the relation of today’s inhabitants in riverine landscapes and of the whole society to rivers and phenomena occurring on them changed during the 20th century. This is why the awareness of floods should be constantly restored, which is the aim of this work. The paper reminds and documents several disastrous floods, today already forgotten, occurring on Moravian or Bohemian rivers from the 16th century until the present and their impacts.

The efficiency of the amplification of high pressure pulsations in the geometric transition between larger and smaller pipes is analysed in this paper. Three types of geometric transitions are compared in the paper: step change, conical and radius change of pipe diameters. In other words, water flow in a device for water jet cleaning and cutting is evaluated. There are ultrasonic pulsations of high pressure in the given domain.

Biquadratic S-Patch in Bézier form

Mutual conversions between triangular and quadrilateral meshes need the same degree of both diagonal and boundary curves of quadrilateral meshes. New approach to quadrilateral patches, S-Patches, offers such possibility. The Bézier approach of Smart patches (S-Patch) in the biquadratic case is analyzed. Dependencies among the control points are derived. BS-Patches are presented. Close relation between Bézier triangles and BSPatches is found. Condition for smooth concatenation of biquadratic BS-Patches is formulated.

Exkurzní průvodce se zabývá jedinečnou lokalitou v západní části Národního parku Podyjí – Ledovými slujemi. Odlehčené skalní podloží díky hlubokému zářezu dyjského údolí (možná i zemětřesení) podmínilo vznik skalního sesuvu s otevřenými puklinami a formování několik set metrů dlouhých a desítky metrů hlubokých pseudokrasových jeskyní. Díky specifickému mikroklimatu v jeskyních se zde až do dubna nacházejí zbytky ledu. V jeskyních a blokových akumulacích probíhají kvantitativní měření svahových pohybů. Excursion guide deals with the unique site – Ice caves in the western part of the Podyjí National Park. Unloading of bedrock after incision of the Dyje/Thaya R. (and maybe an earthquake) caused rockslides, opening of fissures and formation of several hundred of meters long and tens of meters deep pseudokarst caves. Due to special microclimatic conditions cave ice remains in pseudokarst caves up to August. Quantitative measurements of gravitational movements are carried out in caves and in block fields.

In this paper the main properties for the biquadratic case of S-patches are described. Bézier form of patches is used. It gives us the possibility to find the correlation between triangular and quadrilateral patches. Condition for smooth concatenation of biquadratic BS-patches is formulated.
