COMPARISON OF SPEECH VOCODERS BASED ON REAL AND COMPLEX CEPSTRAL COEFFICIENTS

New approach to speech analysis and synthesis using the complex cepstral coefficients was implemented in a form of a vocoder based on complex cepstral coefficients. To test the results of this new vocoder a comparison with results of an existing vocoder based on real cepstral coefficients were done. Layers of nanoparticles in micelle enclosures were deposited on InP substrates by electrophoresis from isooctane colloid solutions containing Pd or Ag nanoparticles. The layers were investigated by SIMS, low-temperature photoluminescence spectroscopy and topography, absorption spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and sensitivity to hydrogen. Photoluminescence of InP was enhanced by the layers of Pd or Ag nanoparticles. Schottky barriers made on the n-type InP with layers containing Pd nanoparticles showed significant sensitivity to hydrogen in contrast to those containing Ag nanoparticles. GROWTH OF InP CRYSTALS WITH RARE-EARTH ELEMENTS

We report on the influence of rare earth (RE) elements (Pr, Er, and Dy) addition during vertical Bridgman low pressure synthesis on the properties of InP crystals. The temperature dependent Hall measurement and low temperature photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy were employed to study the changes in electrical and optical properties of the crystals. The observed changes are attributed to the gettering effect of REs caused by the high affinity of REs towards shallow impurities in InP. We focus on the characterization of InP and InGaAsP layers prepared by liquid phase epitaxy with rare-earth admixtures. We applied photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), capacitance-voltage measurements, and secondary ion mass spectroscopy in order to explain: (i) the gettering effect and conductivity crossover of InP layers for Pr treated samples, (ii) narrowing of the PL and elecroluminescent spectra of the active InGaAsP region of a double-heterostructure LED. Measurement of electrical and mechanical oscillations of yeast cells membrane in acoustic frequency range

The paper describes the measurement of electric activity of yeast cells at frequencies around 1 kHz and of mechanical vibrations of cell membrane. Synchronized and non-synchronized tubulin mutants of yeast cells were measured. The paper includes a description of the laboratory equipment with a platinum wire point sensor and a spectrum analyzer. V práci jsou uvedeny aktuální informace o postupu v zavádění optiky do přístupových sítí ve světě i v ČR. Důraz je kladen na rozbor situace v Evropě, podrobně je popsán proces optifikace přístupových sítí ve Francii, kde se již tyto sítě budují masově. Je uveden podrobný seznam společností, které realizují optické přístupové sítě v ČR a identifikovány hlavní překážky bránící rychlejší výstavbě těchto sítí. Up-to-date information on the progress in implementation of optical access networks abroad and in the Czech Republic is given. Special attention is given to the situation in Europe, progress in this area in France, where mass implementation of optical fibres in access network has already begun, a is described in detail. A list of companies providing access to broadband networks over optical fibre links in the CR is given and the main obstacles to accelerate this process are identified. V práci jsou diskutovány různé technologické varianty přístupových sítí: metalické, optické a bezdrátové. Jsou posouzeny a porovnány jejich vlastnosti z hlediska dosažitelných technických parametrů, nákladů na jejich výstavbu a provoz, legislativních omezení a perspektiv dalšího rozvoje. Je uvedeno rozdělení trhu podle přístupového média v Japonsku, Norsku, Irsku a ČR ke konci r. 2007. Various technology options of telecommunications access networks are discussed: metallic, optical fibre and wireless. They are compared according to their achievable technical parameters, capital (CAPEX) and operational expenses (OPEX), legislative constraints and prospects for further development.
