Články byly připraveny jako příspěvky pro konferenci s mezinárodní účastí “Hydrologie malého povodí 2017”, která se konala 18. až 20.4.2017 v Praze. Konferenci pořádaly: Ústav pro hydrodynamiku AVČR, Ústav hydrológie SAV, Česká vědeckotechnická vodohospodářská společnost, Český hydrometeorologický ústav, Český národní výbor pro hydrologii. Knihu vydal Ústav pro hydrodynamiku AV ČR, v. v. i., v Praze roku 2017. The CD includes the full text of scientific articles. These articles were prepared as the contributions for the Conference with international participation “Hydrology of a small basin 2017” that was held from April 18th to April 20th 2017 in Prague. The Conference was organized by the Institute of Hydrodynamics ASCR in Prague, Institute of Hydrology SAS in Bratislava, the Czech Water Management Society in Prague, Czech Hydrometeorological institute in Prague and Czech Committee for Hydrology. 2017 - English This isssue of Applications of Mathematics is devoted to the Seminar on Numerical Analysis 2017 (SNA’17) held in New Aula of the VŠB—Technical University of Ostrava, January 30–February 3, 2017, and organized by the Institute of Geonics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in collaboration with IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Centre. The history of Seminar on Numerical Analysis (SNA) goes back to 2003. In 2005–2015, SNA was organized annually by the Institute of Geonics and Institute of Computer Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences in cooperation with Charles University in Prague, Czech Technical University, and VŠB—Technical University\nof Ostrava. Since 2016, Seminar on Numerical Analysis is organized alternatively on a biannual basis with the EMS School in Applied Mathematics (ESSAM). The scope of the seminar ranges from mathematical modeling and simulation of challenging engineering problems, to methods of numerical mathematics, numerical linear algebra, and high performance computing. An important part of SNA has\nbeen devoted to its Winter School with several longer lectures or tutorials focused on selected topics within the scope of the meeting. This year part of the Winter School was also the course Parallel Linear Algebra organized within the French PRACE Advanced Training Centre Maison de la Simulation. SNA’17 was attended by 77 participants, who presented six invited Winter School lectures, 24 short communications, and several posters. 2017 - English This book comprises papers that originated from the invited lectures, survey lectures, short communications, and posters presented at the 18th seminar Programs and Algorithms of Numerical Mathematics (PANM) held in Janov nad Nisou, Czech Republic, June 19-24, 2016. All the papers have been peer-reviewed. The seminar was organized by the Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences under the auspices of EU-MATHS-IN.cz, Czech Network for Mathematics in Industry. It continued the previous seminars on mathematical software and numerical methods held (biennially, with only one exception) in Al šovice, Bratří kov, Janov nad Nisou, Ko řenov, L ázně Libverda, Dolní Maxov, and Prague in the period 1983-2014. The objective of this series of seminars is to provide a forum for presenting and discussing advanced theoretical as well as practical topics in numerical analysis, computer implementation of algorithms, new approaches to mathematical modeling, and single- or multi-processor applications of computational methods. This is\nthe only way to gain substantial savings as efficiency of state of the art pump\nsystems is already on a very high level.\nTraditional technologies are moving towards marine applications. Subsea\nexploration becomes more and more important for basic raw material supply. Both\nmaintenance and decommissioning of vessels and offshore structures is already\na growing domain for special water jetting applications. Aquafarming substantially\ncontributes to supply a constantly growing human population with sea food\nwhereat water jet cleaning helps to keep high quality farming standards.\nAll these changes are linked up with associated HSE requirements. High\nefficiency, safe, ergonomic and reliable equipment as well as water treatment are\nkey factors for future developments.\nA strong scientific and engineering effort is required to meet these current and\nfollowing challenges.
