Analysis of the quality of airport infrastrutures and quality of service at major airports in the Republic of Namibia

The thesis will analyze the current state of runways, ramps, terminals, passenger services, security and emergency services at four major airports in the Republic of Namibia. This paper aims to make comparisons and develop a multi-criteria analysis model to evaluate the gap in infrastructure quality and propose practical solutions that are equally attractive to airlines, passengers, resident businesses and logistics.

The aim of the thesis is to depict class system of the 20th century British society and the underclass in particular, in the novel Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh.
The first part of the thesis provides a theoretical background to the analysis concerning the evolution of British society aimed to the underclass and the working class, diverse approaches towards the underclass and the poor and British welfare system of the second half of 20th century. In the second part of the thesis the information gained from the novel is compared to comprehensive social studies and the thesis is ended with summary and conclusions about presence of the underclass in Trainspotting.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse a treatment of historical events and processing of literary characters and comparing them with real events and historical personages. The primary source is a historical novel Wolf Hall written by a British writer, Hilary Mantel. This bachelor thesis examines the intrigues and life at the court of Henry VIII and closely analyse the characters that spin those intrigues.

This bachelor thesis focuses on the selected works of an American poet Marianne Moore. The aim of the paper is to show how the poet approaches to the literary motif of the sea and water. The motif of the sea and water is very common in her poetry. The paper also deals with the compasion between Marianne Moore and another American poet Elizabeth Bishop. It is in terms of similiraties and differences between the two poems of the same title.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the influence of jazz in On the Road by Jack Kerouac. The main focus is on identifying jazz as a theme and its effect on characters' lives and, in addition, recognizing whether formal jazz rules were applied in the novel. To a limited extent, the paper deals with basic information about jazz, bebop in particular, and the Beat Generation, with an emphasis on Neal Cassady due to his role in the novel, and Jack Kerouac as a writer and main protagonist of the novel. Kerouac's life and his literary experimentation introduce the topic which is further discussed in the analytical part. To support the analysis, Kerouac's experimentation with spontaneous prose was introduced and its rules were partially applied to support the analysis of form and composition of the novel. Finally, a comparison between the Original Scroll and edited version of On the Road is included.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present Kurt Vonnegut’s novel Slaughterhouse-Five in connection with the historical and literary context. First, the influence of American society and postmodernism is depicted. Second, the American war novel is defined as a genre, followed by presenting crucial themes in Slaughterhouse-Five. Autobiographic elements, the form of narration, the use of sci-fi genre and representation of war and death, the language and intertextuality are analysed. The final part of the bachelor thesis focuses on the discrepancies of Vonnegut’s fictive description of the air raid on Dresden and the commonly accepted historical facts.

The aim of this paper is to provide an analysis of Tess of the d'Urbervilles, one of the last novels written by the outstanding author of regional literature, Thomas Hardy. The theoretical part focuses on the historical, social and literary background of the period in which Hardy lived and wrote, and also describes his journey to writing. The analytical part firstly explores the way how Hardy depicts rural landscapes in the novel. Secondly, another focus is on Hardy's portrayal of the main protagonist, Tess. The analysis further examines the roles Hardy gives Tess depending upon the environment in which she finds herself. The main aim of this paper is to specify what roles Hardy gives the main protagonist throughout the story and to identify how these roles of hers change depending on the environment in which he places her.
