Amine-functionalized Porous Polymers for Selective CO2 Adsorption.

Porous materials have always attracted high scientific interest because of their outstanding performance and potential applications in various fields, including adsorption and gas separation. Hyper-crosslinked polymers (HCLPs) have several advantages over other porous materials, they show extremely high surface areas and porosity, low density, outstanding adsorption properties, high chemical, and thermal stability.\nHerein, we reported a synthesis, characterization, and the CO2 (and other gases) adsorption performance of series of novel styrene-divinylbenzene based HCPs. The material was prepared in two steps. The first step involved the radical copolymerization of divinylbenzene (DVB) and 4-vinylbenzyl chloride (VBC), under solvothermal condition to generate porous polymers with high surface area above 700 m2 g−1. In the second step, various polyamine species were applied to react with the alkyl chloride groups and functionalize the pore surface\nto improve the CO2/N2, CO2/CH4 and CO2/H2 selectivity. Multiphase Flow of Taylor Bubbles in Rectangular Microchannels.

The aim of this work is to broaden our knowledge of the behavior of Taylor bubbles in a coflowing liquid inside flat microchannels with a high aspect ratio. The primary focus is put on the near-wall region, which is difficult to study both experimentally or numerically. The investigated quantities are the thickness of a liquid film separating the bubble from the microchannel wall, wall shear stress induced by the bubble movement, and the shape and velocity of the translating bubble. Solvent Assisted 2D Mesoporous g-C3N4 Modification for Catalytic Application.

Here we show a facile and scalable new approach for the synthesis of ordered CN materials with an excellent photoactivity, which consists\nof supramolecular interfacial preorganization of monomers at the interface of two non-miscible solvents. Molecular dynamic simulations\nsupported by experimental results reveal that appropriate mono-mers and solvents choice lead to the formation of a supramolecular assembly solely at the interface of the solvents. As a proof of concept, we show the chemical and physical properties of the g-C3N4 materials after thermal condensation in various temperature. The advantages of the new method are demonstrated here through the tuneable morphologies and surface area, the formation of new electronic junctions and high activity as a photocatalyst for hydrogen evolution and pollutants degradation of the g-C3N4 materials. Vliv typu sorbentu na dehalogenaci redukčního plynu bez kondenzujícího podílu

Chemická recyklace plastů je jedním z možných způsobů, jak naložit s velkým množstvím aktuálně obtížně zpracovatelného plastového odpadu. Tímto způsobem by bylo možné naplnit cíle v množství recyklovaného odpadu. Principem je přeměna odpadu na základní uhlovodíkovou surovinu dále použitelnou v rafinérském a petrochemickém průmyslu. Hlavní technologickou výzvou je přítomnost halogenů v plastovém odpadu (v plastech jako látky obsahující chlor ve formě PVC nebo brom ve formě aditiv/zpomalovačů hoření). Při chemické recyklaci pomocí pyrolýzy mohou tyto látky přecházet do produktů a způsobovat problémy v navazujících technologiích (koroze, otrava katalyzátorů apod.). Jedním ze způsobů, jak je odstranit, by mohla být vysokoteplotní sorpce z primárního pyrolýzního plynu na sorbentech před jeho kondenzací. Za tímto účelem byly provedeny experimenty s modelovým plynem obsahujícím halogenované sloučeniny a různými anorganickými sorbenty. Získané výsledky umožnily zúžit okruh sorbentů vhodných k vysokoteplotnímu odstraňování halogenovaných sloučenin z primárního pyrolýzního plynu vznikajícího při pyrolýze plastů. Chemical recycling of plastics is one of possible option to process large amount of currently difficultly recycled plastic waste. It would be possible to fulfil goals of the amount of recycled waste by means of chemical recycling. Principle of chemical recycling is conversion of plastic waste to basic hydrocarbon substance that could be used in refineries or petrochemical industry. The main technological challenge is the presence of halogens in plastic waste (in plastics as substances containing chlorine in form of PVC or brome in form of additives/flame retardants). During chemical recycling via pyrolysis, these substances can transfer to products and cause problems in succeeding technologies (corrosion, poisoning of catalysts etc.). One of the solutions how to eliminate these unwanted substances could be high temperature sorption of primal pyrolysis gas on sorbents before its condensation. Experiments with model gas containing halogenated compounds and different inorganic sorbents were conducted for this purpose. Gained results allowed us to narrow down the amount of sorbents suitable for high temperature removal of halogenated compounds from primal pyrolysis gas produced during pyrolysis of plastics. Biochar je pevný zbytek po termochemické přeměně biomasy, který je následně využitý, např. v zemědělství. Studovaný biochar byl vyroben ve dvoustupňovém dvouohňovém sesuvném zplyňovacím generátoru na odpadní dřevní biomasu za současné výroby tepla a elektrické energie. Biochar byl podroben řadě chemických analýz potřebných k posouzení možnosti jeho použití jako pomocné půdní látky. Výsledky analýz byly porovnány s limity danými platnou legislativou i organizacemi zabývajícími se dobrovolnou certifikací biocharu. Studovaný biochar všechny sledované parametry splňoval. Thermochemical conversion of biomass produces solid residue that is further used in agriculture called biochar. Studied biochar was produced in twin-fire two-staged gasifier from waste wood biomass. Heat and electricity were produced together with biochar. Biochar samples were analysed and assessed as a soil amendment. Results were compared to legal standards and voluntary certificate limits.
