In this survey, we provide a discussion of the various dimensions of the relative position of women on labor markets and the techniques that have been used in the empirical economics literature to understand the sources of the observed gender differences. We also give a brief overview of the available data and analyses in the Czech Republic and present new gender wage gap decompositions for the Czech enterprise sector in 2004. V tomto přehledu poskytujeme diskusi ohledně různých dimenzí relativní pozice žen na trzích práce a technik, které jsou používány v empirické ekonomické literatuře k porozumění zdrojů pozorovaných rozdílů mezi pohlavími. Zároveň poskytujeme stručné shrnutí dostupných dat a analýz v České republice a prezentujeme novou dekompozici mzdového rozdílu dle pohlaví pro český podnikatelský sektor v roce 2004.

In search of microeconomic models of anti-corruption measures - a review

This paper discusses differences between the Czech and Slovak anti-corruption laws and their likely (in)effectiveness. We also review the relevant literature on procurement corruption and examine to what extent existing theoretical models can be extended to study the impact of anti-corruption measures. V článku se diskutují rozdíly mezi českými a slovenskými antikorupčními právními normami a jejich pravděpodobnou (ne)efektivitou. Rovněž hodnotím relevantní literaturu o korupci ve veřejných zakázkach a zkoumám do jaké míry mohou být rozšířeny teoretické modely pro studium dopadu antikorupčních opatření.

In the presence of the underground economy taxes give rise to a deadweight loss from displacement of efficient producers by inefficient producers. We consider an economy in which a producer faces two types of costs: the cost of production, and taxes. Za předpokladu existence černé ekonomiky umožňují daně vznik nákladům mrtvé váhy plynoucím z vytěsnění efektivních výrobců neefektivními. Uvažujeme ekonomiku, ve které výrobcům plynou dva druhy nákladů: produkční náklady a daně.

We explain movements in the UV space, i.e. the relationship between stocks of unemployment and vacancies known as the Beveridge curve, in the Czech Republic during 1995–2004.
