The paper presents new results of experimental research on string similarity measures on pricelists of computer components. The first results were already presented at the Eighth Czech-Japan Seminar on Data Analysis and Decision Making under Uncertainty in Třešť. Článek popisuje výsledky experimentálního výzkumu metod porovnávání textových řetězců. Experimenty byly prováděny s ceníky počítačových komponent.

Simulator of ADSL Physical Layer

This paper presents simulation results accomplished within ADSL toolbox, which was developed in our institute. The toolbox simulates physical layer of ADSL communication chain, where the main efforts are given to equalization techniques at receiver, proper channel partitioning at transmitter and channel modeling. Článek prezentuje další výsledky práce na ADSL toolboxu, simulačním prostředí, které jsme vyvinuli na našem pracovišti. Konkrétně se jedná o simulace vlivu konfigurace ADSL kanálu, kterou provádí tzv. bit-load algoritmy. V této souvislosti je uvedena metoda water-filling a její konkrétní realizace Rate-adaptive water-filling. Touto metodou dosažené výsledky jsou prezentovány a porovnány s referenčními metodami. Druhá část článku se věnuje popisu modelů ADSL kanálů, které toolbox využívá.

An Effective Algorithm to Search Reductions in Compositional Models

This paper deals with the problem of marginalization of multidimensional probability distributions represented by a compositional model. By the perfect one in this case. From the computational point of view this solution is more efficient than any known marginalization process for Bayesian models. This is because the process mentioned in the paper in a form of an algorithm and takes an advantage of the fact that the perfect sequence models have some information encoded; if can be obtained from the Bayesian networks by an application of rather computationally expensive procedures. One part of that algorithm is marginalization by means of reduction. This paper describe a new faster algorithm to find a reduction in a compositional model. Marginalizace multidimenzionálních distribucí reprezentovaných perfektními kompozicionálními modely je mnohem efektivnější než jakýkoli marginalizační proces v bayesovských sítích. Důvod je prostý. Marginalizační algoritmus, zmíněný v tomto článku, využívá informací zakódovaných ve struktuře kompozicionálních modelů, které se v bayseovských sítích musí složitě vypočítat. V tomto článku se zabýváme jednou podsekcí marginalizačního algoritmu - marginalizací redukcí. Je zde představen nový rychlejší způsob hledání redukcí v kompozicionálních modelech.

Conditional Irrelevance Relation for Belief Functions: Examples

The paper presents an additional possibility how to define conditional independence relation for belief functions. The approach is based on the operator of composition originally designed for multidimensional model processing. Not to make confusion with the preceding definitions we call this relation conditional irrelevance. In the paper examples illustrating properties of this relation are presented. V článku je představen další způsob jak definovat relaci podmíněné nezávislosti ve věrohodnostních funkcích. Tento přístup je založen na operátoru, který byl na vrhnut původně pouze pro multidimenzionální modely, operátoru kompozice. Abychom předešli zmatkům s předchozími definicemi, nazýváme tento vztah podmíněnou irelevancí. Vlastnosti tohoto vztahu (relace) jsou ilustrovány množstvím příkladů.

A Novel Emulation Technique that Preserves Circuit Structure and Timing

This paper presents an emulation technique that allows to preserve structure and optionally timing of an emulated circuit according to a target technology. The technique is compatible with fault injection techniques based on circuit instrumentation or partial runtime reconfiguration, and it allows to emulate timing parameters of the circuit through an introduction of a virtual time. An area and timing overhead due to preserving the circuit structure and parameters of basic delay elements are evaluated by experiments. Článek popisuje novou metodu emulace obvodů v FPGA, která zachovává strukturu a případně i časování obvodu s ohledem na cílovou technologii. Metoda umožňuje použít obě metody vkládání poruch, a to jak metody založené na modifikaci obvodu, tak metody založené na dynamické rekonfiguraci. K emulaci časových vlastností obvodu se používá virtuální čas. Článek dále obsahuje experimenty, které ověřují základní vlastnosti navrhované metody.

Simulation of MCU hardware peripherals

This paper describes one possible way, how MCU hardware peripherals (e.g. PWMs, Timers, ADCs, etc.) can be simulated in Matlab/Simulink environment and how code controlling these peripherals can be generated. The described implementation of the MCU hardware peripherals is based on using function call outputs as peripheral interrupts and external blocks called Methods as peripheral control functions. In the generated code by Real-Time Workshop, the Method block is represented by directly called corresponding function of the used periphery. Článek popisuje možný způsob simulace hardwarových periferií MCU (např. PWM, Časovač, ADC) v prostředí Matlab/Simulink. A způsob jak může být generován řídicí kód pro tyto periferie.Popisovaná implementace využívá signály funkčního volání jako funkce periferií. V generovaném kódu z RTW je speciální blok Method, který reprezentuje přímo volané funkce použitých periferií.

This paper describes design of a controller of the brushless DC motor using Processor Expert blockset in Mathworks Simulink. The controller algorithm is designed in Simulink and the Processor Expert blockset provides access to the microcontroller hardware through its Hardware Abstraction Layer. The behavior of the controller (including the peripherals represented by Processor Expert blocks) is verified by simulation. The Real-Time Workshop is used for the C source code generation from the controller model. Článek popisuje návrh řídicího systému bezkartáčového motoru s využitím Processor Expert blocksetu v prostředí Matlab-Simulink. Řídicí algoritmus je navržen v Simulinku a PE blockset poskytuje přístup k hardwarovým periferiím mikrokontroléru přes HAL. Chování řídicího algoritmu i s hardwarovými periferiemi je ověřena simulací. Zdrojový kód v jazyce C pro mikrokontrolér je vygenerovaný pomocí nástroje Real-Time Workshop.

An embedded DSP/FPGA system for accelaration of image or video processing, with a scripting-language-based configuration engine, pulling software modules or hardware blocks from function libraries, is considered. The Simulink environment is used for rapid application design for this system. The aspects of converting Simulink block diagrams into the scripting language for the configuration engine are discussed in the paper. Článek se zabývá vestavěným DSP/FPGA akcelerátorem pro zpracování obrazu nebo videa. Tento akcelerátor používá vestavěný konfigurační engine, ovládaný skriptovacím jazykem, který dynamicky zavádí předem připravené funkční moduly. Pro rychlý vývoj aplikací je použito prostředí Simulinku. Článek pojednává o konverzi blokových schemat Simulinku do skriptovacího jazyku pro vestavěný engine.
