Přesto, že sítě typu FTTx jsou tím nejperspektivnějším řešením pro přístupové sítě, jsou zralé a na trhu je dostatečná nabídka příslušných zařízení, tempo jejich zavádění do praxe se v jednotlivých zemích i regiónech velmi liší. V přednášce je mapována aktuální situace v budování a využívání optických přístupových sítí doma i v zahraničí. Je učiněn pokus najít odpověď na otázku – co pohání a co brzdí zavádění optiky do přístupových sítí doma a ve světě. Inspite of the fact that FTTx networks are the most future-proof solution for the access networks, they are mature and there is sufficient supply of equipment on the market, the pace of their implementation in various countries and regions vastly differs. In the contribution, the up-to-date situation concerning implementation and utilization of optical fibre access networks is presented and drivers and inhibitors of fibre optics advancement into access networks are identified.

Navrhli jsme a experimentálně ověřili použití optické vláknové mřížky s dlouhou periodou pro konverzi fázové modulace na amplitudovou. Aplikovali jsme ji na místo diferenciálního interferometru ve vlnovém konvertoru založeném na křížové fázové modulaci a následně využili ke konverzi signálu z 1572nm na 1555nm při 160Gb/s. We proposed and demonstrated that long-period fiber grating can serve as converter of phase modulation to amplitude modulation in wavelength converters based on XPM. In our particular implementation, an input pulse train with repetition rate of 160Gb/s at the wavelength of 1572nm were converted to train of 2ps pulses at 1555nm. We shown its benefits compared to differential interferometric schemes used for the same purpose.

Dvojrozměrné modelování fotonických struktur

Příspěvek popisuje metodu pro dvojrozměrné modelování integrovaných fotonických struktur pomocí rozvoje optických polí v harmonické vlny. Je stručně popsán princip metody a její zdokonalení v poslední době. Metoda je kriticky porovnána s příbuznými modálními metodami, jako je metoda rozkladu obousměrné vlastní vidy a metoda Fourierova rozvoje, a jsou uvedeny příklady aplikací. A novel method for two-dimensional modelling of integrated photonic structures by using of harmonic expansion of optical fields is presented. The principle of the method and its recent improvements are described. The method is critically assessed and compared with other modal methods, namely with the bi-directional eigenmode expansion method and with the Fourier expansion method. A few examples if its application are shown, too.

Linear adaptive blind MMSE detectors for DS-CDMA signals

The contribution concentrates on detection of CDMA signals by linear adaptive blind MMSE detectors. Some rules of adaptation and their parameters are discussed. A limited need of a priori information and their adaptability to changing environment cause these detectors very attractive for applications Příspěvek je zaměřen na detekci CDMA signálů lineárními adaptivními slepými MMSE detektory. Jsou diskutovány některé algoritmy adaptace a vhodné hodnoty jejich parametrů. Detektory jsou atraktivní vzhledem ke sníženému rozsahu nezbytných apriorních informací o parametrech signálu a vzhledem k adaptaci na jejich změny.

Daily variation of photon emission intensity from the human hands

Spontaneous ultra-weak photon emission in the visible range was measured on palm and dorsal side of left and right hand by means of a low noise photomultiplier system. To study the dynamics of this photon emission in a 24h period photon emission was recorded in 2h intervals in 5 experiments. Mean photon emission over the 24h period differed both between subjects and hand locations. The fluctuations in photon emission in the course of 24h were more at dorsal sides than palm sides. Spontánní ultra-slabá emise fotonu ve viditelné oblasti byla změřena na dlani a dorzální straně levé a pravé ruky pomocí nízko šumového fotonásobiče. K studiu dynamiky této emise fotonu v průběhu 24 hodin, emise fotonu byla měřena v intervalech 2 hodin v 5 experimentech. Průměrná intenzita emise fotonu v rozsahu 24 hodin se lišila jak mezi subjekty, tak i mezi měřenými lokacemi. Fluktuace inetzity emise fotonu v průběhu 24 byly vyšší na dorzálních stranách rukou než na dlaních.

This final report gives a summary of the result obtained in time and frequency calibrations at the Laboratory of the National Time and Frequency Standard at the Institute of Photonics and Electronics within the Project III/13/07 of the Program of Metrology Development. The results concern a) calibration of GPS disciplined time and frequency standards, b) background instability of the measurement system based on dual-mixer time-difference multiplication, c) data processing of the GPS time transfer using all-in-view satellites. Výsledky se týkají tří podúkolů, a to a) kalibrace sekundárních etalonů času a frekvence řízených signálem GPS, b) nestability pozadí měřicího systému složeného na násobení časové diference s duálním směšováním a c) metod zpracování dat časového transferu prostřednictvím GPS při použití všech pozorovatelných družic.

Current state of the Czech TTS system epos

This contribution is focused on the current state of the Epos Text-To-Speech (TTS) system. Recently, a MBROLA-like synthesis interface has been developed. This interface synthesizes speech phone by phone, so the length and prosody points of each phone are specified. Several problems were encountered while performing MBROLA-like synthesis. These problems are associated with the speech inventory, which is primarily designed for the time domain Pitch-Synchronous OverLap-and-Add (PSOLA) synthesis. Tento příspěvek se zabývá současným stavem vývoje TTS systému Epos, který ve svých posledních verzích využívá MBROLA rozhraní pro syntezátory řeči popisující syntetickou řeč jako zřetězení hlásek s uvedenými délkami a tzv. prozodickými body. Tento formát s sebou přináší několik problémů souvisejících především s použitím řečového inventáře navrženého pro syntézu v časové oblasti metodou PSOLA.

Objective comparison of efficiency of one channel noise cancellation algorithms

The contribution tries to evaluate objectively the efficiency of most widely used one-channel noise cancellation methods for a speech record. In this contribution three basic one-channel methods are compared (spectral thresholding, spectral subtraction and RASTA algorithm). The efficiency of designated methods is evaluated by percentage hit rate of isolated words recognition. This test enables an objective evaluation of methods with regard to the intelligibility. Příspěvek se snaží objektivně ohodnotit účinnost nejrozšířenějších jednokanálových metod pro potlačení šumu v řečových nahrávkách. V příspěvku jsou porovnány tři základní jednokanálové metody (prahování spektra, spektrální odečítání a metoda RASTA). Účinnost jmenovaných metod je hodnocena pomocí procentuelní úspěšnosti rozpoznání jednotlivých slov pomocí počítačového rozpoznávače řeči. Tento test umožňuje hodnotit metody objektivně s ohledem na srozumitelnost výsledné promluvy.

The report includes details about the construction of the instrument, describes its function, methods and questions concerning its design. The converter processes the current signal of photodetectors used with the Fourier transformed - photoluminescence interferometer.
