Vizuální reprezentace surfařek na sociálních sítích z feministické perspektivy

The theme of this thesis is the visual representation of female surfers on the social network Instagram. The theoretical part deals with the development of surfing coverage by traditional media, and then examines the impact of the arrival of the social network Instagram, its potential and negative effects. Laura Mulvey's male gaze theory, Judith Butler's social construction of gender, and sexual objectification theory are also introduced. Through visual content analysis, the practical part seeks to uncover elements of sexualisation and counter-visuality in four selected Instagram accounts. The research is complemented by a qualitative method - social semiotic analysis - to gain a deeper understanding of the issue. The research revealed elements of sexualisation and counter-visuality on all accounts. The highest number of sexualizing elements was found on the account of surfer Alana Blanchard and the highest number of contravisual elements on the account of Australian Surfing Life magazine. Overall, the data revealed, for example, a lack of diversity in both age and body type categories, a low percentage of women depicted while surfing, and frequent revealing clothing. Conversely, elements of contravisualities were prevalent in categories such as Type of Shot and Facial Expression. Tématem práce je vizuální reprezentace surfařek na sociální síti Instagram. Teoretická část se zabývá vývojem pokrytí surfingu tradičními médii, a následně zkoumá vliv příchodu sociální sítě Instagram, její potenciál a negativní účinky. Dále jsou představeny teorie male gaze Laury Mulvey, sociální konstrukce genderu podle Judith Butler a teorie sexuální objektivizace. Praktická část se prostřednictvím vizuální obsahové analýzy snaží odhalit prvky sexualizace a kontravizuality na čtyřech vybraných Instagramových účtech. Výzkum je doplněn o kvalitativní metodu - sociálně sémiotickou analýzu pro hlubší porozumění problematice. Výzkum odhalil prvky sexualizace i kontravizualit u všech účtů. Nejvíce sexualizujících prvků bylo objeveno na účtu surfařky Alany Blanchard a nejvíce kontravizuálních prvků na účtu australského magazínu Surfing Life. Celková data odhalila například nedostatečnou diverzitu v kategorii věku i tělesného typu, nízké procento žen zobrazených během surfování, a časté odhalující oblečení. Prvky kontravizuality naopak převažovaly například v kategorii Druh záběru nebo Výraz v obličeji.

Since the beginning of its more than a hundred-year history, Czech and Czechoslovak Radio has offered a number of programmes for child listeners. Whether it was fairy tales, educational and journalistic programmes or special formats not found in programmes for adults. Children themselves could often participate in the creation of the content. Ať už se jednalo o pohádky, vzdělávací relace, publicistické pořady nebo i speciální formáty, které mezi programy pro dospělé nenajdeme. Na tvorbě obsahu se často děti mohly také samy podílet. V politicky turbulentním 20. století, během kterého rozhlas zažil začátky demokracie, nacistickou okupaci, dlouhou socialistickou éru pod kontrolou Sovětského svazu i návrat ke svobodě, se v závislosti na společenské situaci proměňovaly i mediální obsahy. Od dramaturgie přes formu až po klíčový obsah. Citelné to je zvlášť v případě totalitních režimů. Vytěsněním nebo naopak častým opakováním určitých témat a kritickým či servilním způsobem jejich zpracování mohli zástupci vládní garnitury kontrolovat dominantní diskurz a s tím také ovlivňovat veřejné mínění a potlačovat hlasy kritiky. The topic of this thesis is the feelings of queer journalists in the Czech media space. The author interviewed 13 queer journalists from different types of media. The theoretical framework of this thesis is identity theory, feminism, liberalism, conservatism and queer theory. The research is designed to be qualitative, drawing on grounded theory practices to analyse how queer journalists' sexual orientation or gender identity affects their journalistic work through open, axial and selective coding. It answers how these journalists perceive the atmosphere in the newsroom, whether there are any barriers that make their work difficult, and what coping mechanisms they use to help them deal with stressful situations caused by their orientation or identity. The analysis also focuses on their perceptions of gender and sexual diversity in newsrooms, how their queer identity is reflected in the treatment of media topics, how they perceive the treatment of queer topics in the Czech Republic, or whether any obstacles arise in their fieldwork. In total, thanks to the three-level coding, it was possible to identify four categories that shield specific categories and encompass several problematic aspects. Autorka vedla rozhovor se 13 queer novináři z různých druhů médií. Teoretickým rámcem této práce jsou teorie identity, feminismu, liberalismu, konzervatismu a queer teorie. Výzkum je koncipován jako kvalitativní, vycházející z postupů zakotvené teorie, kdy prostřednictvím otevřeného, axiálního a selektivního kódování analyzuje, jak sexuální orientace nebo genderová identita queer novinářů ovlivňuje jejich novinářskou práci. Odpovídá na to, jak tito novináři vnímají atmosféru v redakci, zda existují nějaké překážky, které by jim komplikovaly práci, jaké používají vyrovnávající mechanismy, které jim pomáhají vyrovnat se se stresovými situacemi způsobenými jejich orientací nebo identitou. Analýza je také zaměřena na jejich vnímání genderové a sexuální diverzity v redakcích, na to, jak se jejich queer identita promítá do zpracování mediálních témat, jak zpracování queer témat v České republice vnímají nebo zda při jejich v práci v terénu vyvstávají nějaké překážky. 1 Abstract The following master's theses is focused on the emerging journalistic approach constructive journalism and its possible usage in the news coverage. The phenomenon is further examined through the case of the global energy crises - period between 2021 and 2022, when energy prices increased steeply in several countries around the world. The thesis explores constructive journalism through the eyes of the six Czech journalists who covered this event in different news media outlets. Through a case study approach, the theses deliver an insight into how the selected journalists approached reporting on global energy crisis and whether their work included some of the attributes of constructive journalism. The theoretical chapters of the thesis introduce readers to the phenomenon of constructive journalism and the work of news media in crisis situations. It also addresses negativity in journalism, the trend of news avoidance and declining trust in mainstream media. The research consists of two qualitative methods, thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews and content analysis of selected news articles. Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na novinářský přístup konstruktivní žurnalistiky a na možnost jeho uplatnění ve zpravodajské praxi. Fenomén je zkoumán na případu globální energetické krize, období mezi lety 2021 až 2022, kdy se v řadě zemí světa prudce zvyšovaly ceny energií. Práce se zabývá perspektivou šesti českých zpravodajských novinářů, kteří tuto událost zpravodajsky pokrývali. Formou případové studie páce mapuje, jak vybraní novináři k referování o dané události přistupovali a zda při své práci uplatnili některé z atributů konstruktivní žurnalistiky. Teoretická část práce čtenáře seznamuje s fenoménem konstruktivní žurnalistiky a s prací novinářů v krizových situacích. Věnuje se rovněž negativitě ve zpravodajství, problematice odlivu zpravodajských publik a klesající důvěře v mainstreamová média. Výzkumná část práce se skládá z tematické analýzy polostrukturovaných rozhovorů a z obsahové analýzy vybraných zpravodajských příspěvků. Výzkum popisuje, jak se novináři ve zkoumaném období snažili publiku vysvětlovat složité energetické jevy a zasazovat je do správných souvislostí. This thesis deals with Milan Kundera's novel Ignorance and its Czech and French media response and critical reception. The first part of the thesis provides a theoretical anchor for the analyzed texts. Therefore, it first defines the terms literary criticism and review, then offers a biographical context of Milan Kundera's work, which is divided into Czech, French and later period in the new millennium, and also introduces and interprets the book Ignorance. Then, through the characterization of the French and Czech media, divided into cultural and literary, news and opinion, and in the case of the French ones, also regional media, on which the examined response is based, it moves on to the analysis of the texts. The thesis aims to map, analyze, evaluate and compare the media-critical reception of the novel in the Czech Republic and France. The main questions the thesis seeks to answer are therefore: How is the novel Ignorance perceived and evaluated by French and Czech critics? In what aspects do the responses differ or coincide in both countries? Since the book, although written in French, was first published in Spain in 2000, then in France three years later in the spring of 2003, and in Czech translation only at the end of 2021, attention will also be paid to the possible influence that the time... Tato diplomová práce se zabývá románem Milana Kundery Nevědění a jeho českým a francouzským mediálním ohlasem a kritickou recepcí. První část práce poskytuje teoretické ukotvení pro analyzované texty. Nejprve proto vymezuje pojmy literární kritika a recenze, dále nabízí biografický kontext tvorby Milana Kundery, který je rozdělen na české, francouzské a pozdější období v novém tisíciletí, a také představuje a interpretuje samotnou knihu Nevědění. Poté se přes charakteristiku francouzských a českých médií, rozdělených na kulturní a literární, zpravodajská a publicistická a v případě těch francouzských i na regionální, ze kterých vychází zkoumaný ohlas, přesouvá k rozboru textů. Cílem práce je zmapovat, zanalyzovat, vyhodnotit a porovnat mediálně-kritické přijetí románu v Česku a ve Francii. Hlavní otázky, na které práce hledá odpověď, jsou proto: Jak vnímá a hodnotí román Nevědění francouzská a česká kritika? V jakých aspektech se liší, popřípadě shodují ohlasy v obou zemích? Jelikož kniha, ač napsána francouzsky, vyšla úplně poprvé v roce 2000 ve Španělsku, ve Francii pak o tři roky později na jaře 2003 a v českém překladu až na sklonku roku 2021, pozornost bude věnována i možnému vlivu, který časové rozdíly v publikování mohly na kritiku a interpretaci románu mít.

Mediální pokrytí Zelené dohody pro Evropu v době českého předsednictví v Radě Evropské unie

The aim of the thesis was to focus on the media coverage of the Green Deal for Europe during the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union in order to understand how the selected online media reported on the subject. Specifically, this thesis focused on the overall space devoted to the topic, the tone of the articles, the context in which the media placed the topic, how the topic was covered, whether the coverage of the topic was changing, and what sources of information the media used. The quantitative and subsequent qualitative analysis showed that the selected media framed the topic as a marginal one, mainly in a negative way. At the same time, however, the agenda of each media focused on other topics, primarily the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the energy crisis. However, even these topics were sometimes linked to the Green Deal for Europe. Cílem diplomové práce bylo zaměřit se na mediální pokrytí Zelené dohody pro Evropu v době Českého předsednictví v Radě Evropské unie tak, aby bylo možné pochopit, jak vybraná online média referovala o předmětném tématu. Konkrétně se tato práce zaměřila na celkový věnovaný prostor tématu, vyznění jednotlivých článků, na kontext, do kterého téma média zasazovala, jakým způsobem bylo téma uchopeno, zda se referování o tématu proměňovalo v čase a jaké zdroje informací média využila. Z kvantitativní a následné kvalitativní analýzy vyplynulo, že se ve vybraných médiích jednalo o marginální téma rámované především negativně. Zároveň se agenda jednotlivých médií soustředila na jiná témata, primárně na ruskou invazi na Ukrajinu a energetickou krizi. I tato témata ale byla někdy spojována se Zelenou dohodou pro Evropu.

Hate Speech in the Online Space Abstract This thesis focuses on mapping the ways of sanctioning hate speech which appears on the Internet. In the introductory chapter, the concepts of hate speech and the online environment are first explained. Next, the various means by which the Internet is a suitable venue for the dissemination of hateful rhetoric are discussed. The chapter also briefly shows the ways one can come in contact with hateful content on the Internet. The second chapter focuses on one of the key human freedoms closely related to the topic, namely freedom of expression. It draws special attention to its possible conflict with other fundamental rights and freedoms and describes how it is limited. In the third chapter of the thesis, I draw attention to the penalty of hate speech itself, with an emphasis on criminal sanctions. Therefore, the thesis describes in detail the selected criminal offences under which hate speech can be subsumed. I discuss the following: 1) Violence against a Group of People and Individuals, 2) Defamation of Nation, Race, Ethnic or other Groups of People, 3) instigation of Hatred towards a Group of People or of Suppression of their Rights and Freedoms, 4) Establishment, support and promotion of a movement aimed at suppression of human rights and freedoms, 5) Dissemination... Projevy nenávisti v online prostoru Abstrakt Tato práce je zaměřena na zmapování způsobů postihu nenávistných projevů učiněných na internetu. V úvodní kapitole jsou nejprve vysvětleny samotné pojmy nenávistný projev a online prostředí. Dále jsou rozebrány jednotlivé přednosti internetu, které z něj dělají vhodné místo pro šíření nenávistné rétoriky. Ve stručnosti pak kapitola ukazuje i to, v jakých formách se s nenávistným obsahem můžeme na internetu setkat. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na jednu z klíčových lidských svobod, s tématem úzce související, a to konkrétně svobodu projevu. Zejména upozorňuje na její možný střet s jinými základními právy a svobodami a popisuje způsoby jejího omezení. Ve třetí kapitole své práce se zaměřuji na samotný postih nenávistných projevů, přičemž důraz kladu především na postih trestní. Práce proto podrobně popisuje vybrané skutkové podstaty trestných činů, pod něž je nenávistné projevy možné podřadit. Current issues of a pecuniary punishment Abstract This diploma thesis deals with the issue of a pecuniary punishment in the Czech criminal law with focus on its substantive and procedural law and its legislation which has been significantly changed in recent years but its also focuses on the impact of legislative and non-legislative changes on the development of the number of the pecuniary punishments and presents several changes to the legislation. The first part of the diploma thesis is about the history of the pecuniary punishment which will help to understand the development of legislation and understanding of the meaning of the pecuniary punishment. This is followed by an analysis of the basic concepts of the purpose of punishment and a comparison of the old and new legislation. The third part of the diploma thesis provides a basic information into the issue of the pecuniary punishment and the author here think about the sanction of the offender's property benefit through the pecuniary punishment. Aktuální otázky peněžitého trestu Abstrakt Tato diplomová práce se věnuje problematice peněžitého trestu v českém trestním právu se zaměřením na jeho hmotněprávní i procesněprávní úpravu, která prošla v posledních letech důležitými změnami, ale je také věnována vlivu legislativních a nelegislativních změn na vývoj počtu uložených peněžitých trestů a předkládá několik změn právní úpravy. První část diplomové práce se týká historie peněžitého trestu, ta pomůže pochopit vývoj právní úpravy a chápání peněžitého trestu. The problems of judicial expertise in criminal proceedings Abstract The thesis focuses on selected problems of expert evidence, which have an impact on the quality of the expert's conclusion. Its aim is to identify the problems not only within the legal framework, to evaluate their impact and to propose their solution. The first part describes the legal regulation of evidence in criminal proceedings, focusing on expert evidence. It also describes the legal regulation of expert evidence in Act No. 254/2019 Sb., on Experts, Expert Offices and Expert Institutes, and in related decrees. The second part describes the historical development of the legal regulation of expertise from 1873 to the present. It also examines the criticisms of Act No. 36/1967 Sb. on Experts and Interpreters and assesses how the legislator has responded to them in the new regulation. The third part of the thesis focuses on the problems related to the guarantee of the quality of the expert's conclusion. The first problem raised is the absence of experts in some fields, for example in child psychiatry. It describes the implications of this problem for expert review mechanisms. Problémy znaleckého dokazování v trestním řízení Abstrakt Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na vybrané problémy znaleckého dokazování, které mají vliv zejména na kvalitu znaleckého závěru. Jejím cílem je identifikovat problémy nejen v rámci právní úpravy, zhodnotit jejich dopady a navrhnout jejich řešení. První část popisuje právní úpravu dokazování v trestním řízení, zaměřuje se na dokazování znaleckým posudkem. Popisuje také právní úpravu znalectví v zákoně č. 254/2019 Sb., o znalcích, znaleckých kancelářích a znaleckých ústavech a v navazujících vyhláškách. Druhá část popisuje historický vývoj právní úpravy znalectví od roku 1873 do současnosti. Věnuje se také kritizovaným místům zákona č. 36/1967 Sb., o znalcích a tlumočnících, a hodnotí, kterými prostředky na ně zákonodárce reagoval v nové úpravě. Třetí část práce se zaměřuje na problémy spojené se zárukou kvality znaleckého závěru. Prvním vytčeným problémem je nedostatek znalců v některých oborech, například v dětské psychiatrii.
