Situace a záměry v oblasti péče o zvukové dokumenty v paměťových institucích ČR

2016 - Czech Příspěvek poukazuje na neutěšenou situaci v oblasti péče o zvukové kulturní dědictví v ČR. V oficiálních státních dokumentech se toto téma sice nově objevilo, avšak v praxi nedošlo k potřebným změnám. Některé kroky vykonala Moravská zemská knihovna, ale stále postrádáme systematickou podporu a hlavně vytvoření metodického centra. Stále více tak ztrácíme čas, nosiše fyzicky degradují a hrozí definitivní ztráta jejich obsahu. Prezentovaný model zachycuje celou šíři problémů k řešení a aktéry, které je nutno zapojit. The paper highlights the plight of the Czech Republic in the area of care for sound cultural heritage. Although this topic has recently appeared in the official state documents, there have been no changes in practice. Some steps were taken by the Moravian Land Library, but we still lack systematic support and, above all, the creation of a methodological center. We are increasingly wasting our time, physically degrading our bearers and threatening to permanently lose their content. The presented model explores the whole range of problems to be addressed and the actors that need to be involved. 2016 - English Příspěvek přibližuje situaci v oblasti zvukových dokumentů na národní úrovni. Poukazuje na nedostatek podpory ze strany státu, chybějící národní plán ochrany zvukových nosičů a z toho plynopucí problémy. Navzdory tomu se na tomto poli podařila řada úspěšných kroků, které jsou zde blíže popsány. This paper focuses on an area of audio preservation at the national level that has until recently been completely neglected. Our biggest challenge lies in the fact that we still do not have a Czech National Sound Archive, primarily because we lack systematic preservation policies for audio at a national level. Over the last two years much has been accomplished, but the direction has not been firmly established, and it does not yet have strong institutional support. While our goals have recently been captured in the State Cultural Policy, 2015-2020, the question of funding has not been resolved. In this presentation, we will discuss some of our recent, important activities. Our platform, which aims to fill a gap in understanding the national sound cultural heritage, is called the Virtual National Phonotheque (www.narodnifonoteka.cz). It informs users about the existence, location and content of all audio documents published or housed in the Czech Republic. It is very important that we also cover the history of the Czech sound industry, record labels and publishing. In addition, we are moving forward in many other directions related to the preservation of audio recordings. We want to highlight the gains we have made in our work so far, all without big projects or money from the Czech Republic. Data quality and consistency in Scopus and Web of Science in their indexing of Czech Journals

2016 - English This study addresses the discussion of “quality versus coverage” that often arises if a choice is needed between Scopus and Web of Science (WoS). We present a new methodology to detect problems in the quality of indexing procedures. Our preliminary findings indicate the same degree and types of errors in Scopus and WoS. The more serious errors seem to occur in the indexing of cited references, not in the recording of traditional metadata. 2016 - English This paper describes how the Czech National Library of Technology (NTK) performed mystery shopping (MS), a technique borrowed from the commercial services sector, as a tool for informing its service decisions and offerings, both virtual and in-person. The methodologies used for two rounds of MS, one in 2014 and another in 2015, are described, and findings and interpretation of feedback in relation to actual NTK service modifications are presented.
