Simulink as Tool for Prototyping Reconfigurable Image Processing Applications

Our paper focuses on rapid prototyping and configuration tools for an embedded system. It will present novel concept of an image processing architecture based on interconnection of a programmable logical chip (FPGAs) with digital signal processor (DSP). In the paper, we shall outline a configuration tool tailored towards systems combining both DSP and FPGA, based on a configuration/programming scripting language and with a complex library of functions and modules for selected applications in signal and video processing. Článek představuje novou architekturu pro vývoj a implementaci aplikací zpracování obrazu. Systém se skládá z nástrojů pro rychlý vývoj aplikací - Simulinku, konfiguračních nástrojů převádějících popis Simulinkového modelu do tvaru vhodného pro implementaci na DSP a FPGA čipech.

On estimation and testing by means of disparities based on m-spacings

The a.s. converegence of disparity statistics based on m-spacings of data is proved. This convergence enables to construct unbiased estimates of some functionals of probability distributions and also goodness-of-fit tests based on m-spacings. Limitní věta typu zákona velkých čísel se dokazuje pro disparitní statistiky založené na m-intervalování uspořádaných dat. Tato věta umožňuje konstruovat odhady některých funkcionálů pravděpodobnostních distribucí a taktéž testy dobré shody založené na m-intervalování.

Microarray analyses have been performed on CD34-progenitor derived dendritic cells that have been exposed to chemical skin sensitizers; allergens (4) and irritants (2). The aim of this work is to identify genes whose expression is affected by exposure to the allergens but not by the irritants. The inference is based on a dataset containing 72 microarrays.

The paper recals the MCMC methods, namely the Gibbs algorithm, the Metropolis--Hastings algorithm and variants used for solution of optimization problems, namely the simulated annealing. The objective is to describe the schemes of the algorithms, to recall their theoretical foundation, and to show their use both in Bayes data analysis and in randomized optimization problem. Práce připomíná podstatu a algoritmy Markov chain Monte Carlo metod (Gibbsův sampler, algoritmus Metropolise a Hastingse) a ukazuje jejich použití jak v Bayesovské analýze dat, tak v problému optimalizace, ve spojení se simulovaným žíháním.

Práce se zabývá vývojem databázového prostředí pro archivaci zpráv materiálového průzkumu malířských děl. Struktura databáze byla navržena v součinnosti s odborníky a odráží používané postupy pro zaznamenávání výsledků. Kromě archivace poskytuje možnost vyhledávání v již vložených zprávách jak podle klíčových slov (textová informace), tak podle vizuální podobnosti (obrazová informace). Databáze spolu s implementovanými vyhledávacími funkcemi tvoří znalostní bázi informativního charakteru. The article presents the database system, which enables to archive reports about material research during the analysis of painting art conservation. database structure was designed together with experts and it reflects methods for results archiving. Next to the archiving it offers the possibility to search through already stored reports, using both text-based and image-based approaches. The developed database together with implemented look-up functions forms the expert knowledge database.

The estimation of queue lengths via local filters is depend on initial settings of covariances and state parameters if they are unknown. Using of Subspace methods looks as a good possibilities for initial settings but the traffic problem is so complicated that it is not possible used the Subspace methods generally. Odhad délky kolon pomocí lokálních filtrů je závislý na počátečním nastavení kovariancí stavu i měření a stavových parametrů, v případě jejich neznalosti. Použití Subspace methods se ukazuje jako dobrá možnost k zjištění těchto počátečních podmínek, ale pro dopravní problém, který není triviální, je nutno základní algoritmy upravit.

Heterogeneous agents model with the WOA was considered for obtaining more realistic market conditions. This paper shows, by wavelets applications, strata influences of the trading strategies with the WOA. Model heterogenních agentů s WOA algoritmem byl uvažován pro vyjádření realističtějších tržních podmínek. Tento článek ukazuje pomocí wavelet aplikace skladbu vlivů obchodních strategií s WOA.

This work contributes to the activity in the Department of Adaptive Systems in Institute of Information Theory and Automation, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic to develop a complete design algorithm for advanced controllers such as the LQG one and put them through to real applications. The task of controller tuning is to transform the user specified requirements into the values of the tuning parameters. The system knowledge is incomplete. The Bayesian estimation delivers the parameters not as known numbers but as their probability density function. The important contribution of this work is extending the tuning to the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) controllers, where multiple constraints on particular quantities are considered simultaneously. Tato práce navazuje na aktivitu v oddělení Adaptivních systémů v ÚTIA AV ČR, která si klade za cíl prosadit použití moderních regulátorů jako je LQG v reálných aplikacích. Řešená úloha ladění regulátoru převádí uživatelem specifikované požadavky na hodnoty ladících parametrů regulátoru. Pro nastavení regulátoru je použit identifikovaný model systému s neurčitými parametry, které jsou získány Bayesovským odhadováním v podobě hustoty. Důležitým přínosem této práce je rozšíření možnosti nastavovat systémy s více vstupy a výstupy, kde jsou uvažována zaroveň vícerá omezení na akční veličiny. To vede na úlohu stochastické vícerozměrové optimalizace s omezeními, pro jejíž řešení bylo užito metody sample path.

A class of power entropies is introduced which are concave functions of distributions for positive powers and convex for negative powers. It is shown that the maximal generalized informations are often convex power entropies. The quadratic power entropy is shown to estimate more precisely the Bayes errors than the Shannon entropy. Zavádí se třída mocninných entropií, které jsou konkávními resp. konvexními funkcemi distribucí při kladných resp.záporných mocninách. Je ukázáno, že maximální zobecněné informace jsou často konvexními mocninnými entropiemi. Dále je ukázáno, že mocninná kvadratická entropie přesněji odhaduje Bayesovu chybu než Shannonova entropie.
