The use of real time PCR method for evaluation of magnetic microspheres
Trachtová, Š.; Rittich, B.; Horák, Daniel; Španová, A.
2012 - English
The real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) was used for the evaluation of non-porous HEMA-based magnetic microspheres on the PCR course (PCR sensitivity). It was shown that 1-10 mu l microsphere suspensions (2 mg/ml) in PCR mixtures do not interfere in the PCR. It can be assumed that the magnetic nuclei were covered with polymer layer. Keywords: magnetic microspheres; real time PCR Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Double layer humidity sensor based on phthalocyanine derivatives
Rakušan, J.; Karásková, M.; Hamáček, A.; Řeboun, J.; Kubáč, L.; Černý, J.; Rais, David; Nešpůrek, Stanislav
2011 - English
New type of humidity sensors based on double layer structure consisting of hydrophilic and hydrophobic phthalocyanine derivatives is presented. The sensor shows high sensitivity in the range from 20 to 90 % relative humidity (RH), good long-time stability and fast response. The impedance change vs. RH is quasi-linear in semilogarithmic plot and fully reversible. Keywords: humidity sensor; phthalocyanines; double layer structure Fulltext is available at external website.

Wheat B-starch based polymeric materials
Kotek, Jiří; Kruliš, Zdeněk; Šárka, E.
2011 - English
The contribution is aimed at preparation of a thermoplastic material derived from the wheat B-starch. Two ways have been followed, namely blending of the starch with poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) and plasticizing of the starch. In both cases, properties of the materials based on the B-starch are comparable to analogous materials based on the A-starch. The prepared materials have potential application as biodegradable films for agriculture. Keywords: biodegradable plastic; polycaprolactone; B-starch Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Hybrid structures based on montmorillonite/modified starch intercalate
Duchek, P.; Špírková, Milena
2010 - English
Intercalates based on several commercial cationized starches with degree of substitution D=0.04-0.17, and sodium montmorillonite were prepared. The XRD analyses of resulting organic/inorganic hybrids proved that modification in the starch structure leads to embedding the polycation into montmorillonite clay gallery. Lower degree of starch cationization results in bigger enlargement of the interlayer space in the hybrid structure. Keywords: organic/inorganic hybrides; montmorillonite Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Humidity sensor based on TiO2 nanoparticles and sodium salt of sulfonated AlOH phthalocyanine
Rakušan, J.; Karásková, M.; Hamáček, A.; Řeboun, J.; Rais, David; Nešpůrek, Stanislav
2010 - English
New type of humidity sensor based on TiO2 nanoparticles and sodium salt of sulfonated AlOH phthalocyanine is presented. The sensor shows high sensitivity due to the high surface area of TiO2 nanoparticles, good long-time stability and sensitivity in the range from 20 to 80 % RH. The response is linear in semilogarithmic plot – logarithm of impedance vs. RH and fully reversible. Keywords: humidity sensor; TiO2; phthalocyanines Fulltext is available at external website.

Novel nanocomposite materials for power engineering
Boček, J.; Matějka, Libor; Mentlík, V.
2010 - English
The epoxy-POSS nanocomposites were prepared and their electrical/dielectric and thermomechanical properties were determined. The mono- and octa-epoxyfunctionalized POSS (POSS,E1 and POSS,E8) were covalently incorporated in the epoxy network matrix DGEBA- 3,3’-dimethyl-4,4’-diaminocyclohexylmethane (Laromin C260) as pendant units or as polyhedral junctions, respectively. While the POSS junctions are well dispersed in the hybrid network DGEBA-Laromin-POSS,E8, the pendant POSS aggregate to form large crystalline POSS domains. Keywords: nanocomposite; epoxy resin; insulating system Available at various institutes of the ASCR
