Response of the outer cusp to the IMF rotation
Šimůnek, Jiří; Šafránková, J.; Němeček, Z.
2001 - English
The paper uses the INTERBALL-1 and MAGION=4 data to study the topology and dynamics of high-altitude cusp regions under changing solar wind conditions and interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) orientation. Preliminary analysis of the MAGION-4 ion energy spectra indicates the presence of the magnetosheath-like plasma well below the expected magnetopause position and a large region occupied by low-temperature dense plasma with the very low bulk velocity near the magnetopause.

Numerical simulations of strong Turbulence
Jásenský, Václav; Trávníček, Pavel; Váňa, Ondřej
2001 - English
The algorithm developed and tested in our previous paper (Jásenský et al.) for numerical solving of Zakharov equations is used for simulations of strong turbulence. The creation and anihilation of caverns is observed in order to predictions of Zakharov and Robinson theory.

Numerical computation of Radiation of Dipole antennas in magnetized plasma
Jásenský, Václav; Trávníček, Pavel; Váňa, Ondřej
2001 - English
We are presenting here the computation of electric field of an V-dipole antenna which is a part of OEDIPUS-C experiment. The field is computed using both numerical Filon method and stationary phase method. It seems that for the points sufficiently far-away from the resonance connes both methods give the same result. the field is computed analytically in the cold plasma approximation.

The annual air temperature ranges and selected statistics computed from GCM's outputs and measured datasets
Farda, A.; Kalvová, J.; Nemešová, Ivana
2001 - English
The emphasis is put on the ability of the Global Climate Models (GCMs) to simulate annual ranges of air temperature. For a small prt of Central Europe modela are able to capture general features of annual temperature range behavior quite well at a global scale. ECHAM4 and HadCM2 outperform remaining two models CGCM1 and NCAR DOE-PCM.
