The book of abstracts from the Workshop of Interesting Topics of SEM and ESEM includes original English written papers focused on new results of Environmental electron microscopy group from the ISI ASCR in Brno ant scientific and industry partners of this group. This book contain new results from the field of instrumentation, biology, physics and chemistry. The overall objectives of the workshop were to provide space for exchanging news, ideas, advice and experience in the field of Electron Microscopy which can lead to mutual future scientific collaboration. This workshop has been organized as a forum of state-of-the-art discussion in a number of topics which will be covered by several distinguished invited talks and other presentations.

This volume is the second part of the two-volume proceedings of the 14th conference Information Technologies – Applications and Theory (ITAT 2014), which was held in Jasná, Demänovská Dolina, Slovakia, on September 25–29, 2014. ITAT is a computer science conference with the primary goal of exchanging information on recent research results. Overall, 51 papers were submitted to all conference tracks. This volume presents papers from the workshops and an extended abstract of a poster. Three specialized workshops were held as a part of the conference: Data Mining and Preference Learning on Web, Computational Intelligence and Data Mining, and Algorithmic Aspects of Complex Networks Analysis.

Cílem kolokvia bylo usnadnit výměnu nejnovějších informací a poznatků mezi odborníky v oblasti mechaniky tuhých těles. Hlavní témata kolokvia byla tato: dynamika kontinua, rázy a nelineární jevy, šíření trhlin, konstitutivní modely, dynamika lineárních a nelineárních systémů, identifikace, chaos, vibrace, interakce mechanických systémů a tekutin, moderní výpočetní mechanika a experimenty. The aim of the Colloquium was to facilitate the exchange of up to date information and knowledge among specialists in solid mechanics. The main attention was focused on: continuum dynamics, impact and non-linear phenomena, crack propagation, constitutive models, dynamics of linear and non-linear systems, identification, chaos, vibrations, interaction of mechanical systems and fluids, modern computational mechanics and experiments.

9th International Conference on Charged Particle Optics. Book of Abstracts

The series of conferences on charged-particle optics was launched in 1980 by Hermann Wollnik together with the late Karl Brown and myself in an attempt to bring together the three main CPO communities, accelerator optics, spectrometer optics and electron optics. All three groups were pleased and somewhat surprised to discover how much they had in common, and it was decided to continue to meet at regular intervals. The fact that so many contributions have been submitted to this ninth meeting shows that the formula is as attractive as ever and the organisers have succeeded in producing a balanced programme with much original material in each of the domains of interest. Brno is well known for major contributions to software for CPO and for low-voltage scanning electron microscopy. There have been exciting developments in all the areas covered by the conference. In electron optics, the successful implementation of aberration correctors for electron microscopes has dominated the literature for the last few years but other aspects of the subject have not been neglected; a session is devoted to ion optics. The optics of accelerators and mass and energy spectrometers is likewise providing many surprises. These proceedings provide a unique snapshot of the world of charged-particle optics in 2014.

Konferenci pořádaly: Ústav pro hydrodynamiku AVČR, Praha; Ústav hydrológie SAV, Bratislava; Česká vědeckotechnická vodohospodářská společnost, Praha; Český hydrometeorologický ústav, Praha; Český národní výbor pro hydrologii. Knihu vydal Ústav pro hydrodynamiku AV ČR, v. v. i., v Praze roku 2014. The book includes the full text of scientific articles. These articles were prepared as the contributions for the Conference with international participation “Hydrology of a small basin 2014” that was held from April 22nd to April 24th 2014 in Prague. The Conference was organized by the Institute of Hydrodynamics ASCR in Prague, Institute of Hydrology SAS in Bratislava, the Czech Water Management Society in Prague, Czech Hydrometeorological institute in Prague and Czech Committee for Hydrology. The book was published by the Institute of Hydrodynamics ASCR in Prague in 2014.

Setkávání nejen geomorfologů, ale i ostatních geovědních specialistů na každoročních geomorfologických konferencích Stav geomorfologických výzkumů pod záštitou České asociace geomorfologů se stalo již tradičním. V Mikulově se jednání geomorfologů a dalších specialistů z vysokoškolských, výzkumných i aplikovaných pracovišť zaměřilo na prezentaci výsledků výzkumů o charakteru, genezi a dynamice reliéfu, ať už z teoretického či aplikovaného hlediska nejen z České republiky, ale i Slovenska, Polska, Rakouska, Maďarska, Slovinska. Sborník abstraktů představuje prezentované přednášky, postery i exkurzního průvodce. Meetings of not only geomorphologists, but also other Earth science researchers at annual geomorphological conferences State of geomorphological research organized under the auspecies of Czech Association of Geomorphologists have already became a tradition. The geomorphologists and other specialists from universities, research and commercial institutions who met in town of Mikulov presented recent research results on character, genesis and dynamics of landscape, from either of theoretical or applied point of view. The presented papers came all over the central European countries – Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Hungary, and Slovenia. Abstract proceedings consist from presented lectures, posters as well as excursion guide.
