Future of the Lost Cultural Heritage. The documentation, identification and restitution of the cultural assets of WW II victims

Publication contains the conference papers of all foreign and Czech researchers who are in the frame of their research focused on the identification and documentation of the property transfers of cultural assets of WW II victims. The different ways of confiscation of works of art as well as the restitution of these cultural assets are described in details here. In more detail the presentation of scientific institutions and the possibility of their international co-operation are mentioned there as well. Publikace obsahuje přednášky všech zahraničních i českých vědeckých pracovníků, zaměřujících se ve svém výzkumu na identifikaci a dokumentaci majetkových převodů kulturních statků obětí 2. světové války. Jsou zde popsány různé způsoby konfiskací uměleckých předmětů v jednotlivých evropských zemích i aktuální problémy související s vyhledáváním a resitucemi uměleckých i jiných kulturních předmětů původním majitelům. Podrobněji jsou zde přefstaveny také instituce, které se této problematice věnují a jsou zde také nastíněny možnosti užší spolupráce mezi jednotlivými subjekty na mezinárodní úrovni.

The Gravettian along the Danube

The volume includes contributions presented at an international conference, resuming the newly accumulated evidence on prehistory of the Danube river about 30 - 20 thousands years ago. General papers on Gravettian chronology and dating are followed by regional contributions ordered from the west to the east: south Germany, Austria, Moravia, Poland, Slovakia, and the Balkans. The concluding papers focus on interregional comparisons (Italy), technology and cultural contexts. Tento svazek zahrnuje příspěvky přednesené na mezinárodní konferenci, soustřeďující nově získané poznatky o prehistorii Podunají před 30 – 20 tisíci lety. Obecné referáty o periodizaci a datování gravettienu následují regionální příspěvky, řazené od západu k východu: jižní Německo, Rakousko, Morava, Polsko, Slovensko a Balkán. Závěrečné referáty se zaměřují na interregionální srovnání (Itálie), technologii a kulturní kontext.

Mezinárodní seminář u kulatého stolu na téma „Přístupy k ohodnocení životního prostředí“ se zaměřil na naplnění požadavků ohledně dat a na rozvoj modelů. Kvantitativní metody pro hodnocení, stanovení a modelování byly hlavními tématy semináře. Zaměřili jsme se zejména na měnové hodnocení škod, aplikaci modelu a stanovení dopadu v sektoru dopravy. The international round-table seminar on "Approaches to Assessing the Environment" was focused on meeting the requirements of data and model development. Quantitative methods for valuation, assessment and modelling were the main theme of our seminar. We focused particularly on monetary valuation of damage, model applications and impact assessment in the transport sector.

Francis J. Thomson elaborated his paper on Dobrovský's studies dealing with the Slavonic translation of the Bible in a monograph that is publisched as a separate companion volume to the Proceedings of the Conference. It is an exhaustive survey of the development of the research in this field from very first attempts to analyse this issue till the present time in which the author has shown the lasting validity of the findings reached by Dobrovský two centuries ago. Francis J. Thomson rozpracoval svou přednášku věnovanou Dobrovského biblickým studiím se zřetelem na slovanský překlad bible v samostatnou monografii. Jde o vyčerpávající přehled vývoje bádání v této oblasti od prvních pokusů řešit tuto otázku až do současnosti, v němž jeho autor ukazuje trvající platnost některých zjištění, k nimž Dobrovský dospěl.
