Healthy personality model and its application in pedeutology

The study deals with questions of forming model of a healthy personality that represents a basis for further individual development of man. Theoretically, the model comes from the ideas of health psychology and is determined by aware individual responsibility, whole-life activities, will for acquiring new knowledge, purposeful ranking in social relation-ships, qualified relation to material environment, conscious relationship to ones´ own tradition and cultural heritage and by an eneavour for enjoyment of happiness and joy. We verify this conception, both in theory and by investigations, in teachers where the issues of a healthy personality are considered to be of extreme importance. Studie se zabývá otázkami tvoření modelu zdravé ososbnosti, která představuje bazální východisko pro další individuální rozvoj člověka. Teoreticky tento model vychází z ideí psychologie zdraví a je vymezen uvědomnělou individuální odpovědností, celoživotní aktivitou, vůlí k získávání poznatků, cílevědomým zařazením do sociálních vztahů, poučeným vztahem k materiálnímu prostředí, vědomým vztahem k vlastní tradici a kulturnímu dědictví a snahou o prožitek štěstí a radosti. Teoreticky i výzkumně ověřujeme tuto koncepci na učitelích, kde otázky zdravé osobnosti považujeme za mimořádně důležité. Keywords: personality; health Available at various institutes of the ASCR

The study deals with position of life quality in contemporary psychological research, in the sphere of psychology of health in particular. We compare the development of the health and life quality categories and the usage of these terms in theory and research. We believe that in the contemporary state of psychological investigation the concept of "life quality" is becoming more advantageous because it better express some new knowledge of psychology, evolution of man and society. Studie se zabývá místem kvality života především c sou´časném psychologickém výzkumu, zejména v oblatsi psychologie zdraví. Je srovnáván vývoj kategorie zdraví a kvality života a používání těchto termínů v teorii a výzkumu. Domnívíme se, že v současném stavu psychologického zkoumání se stává výhodnějším pojem "kvalita života", který lépe vystihuje některé noví poznatky psychologie, vývoje člověka a a společnosti. Ve studii je popsán výzkum životního stylu učitelek základních škol (n=216). Šetřením bylo identifikováno 14 typů životního stylu a určena jejich podmíněnost prostředím, výchovou a sebevýchovou. Ukázalo se, že nejčastější jsou životní styly, které byly charakterizovány jako výkonové a reflexivní, přičemž tyto styly byly podmíněny výchovou a sebevýchovou. Většina ostatních stylů byla určena spíše faktory prostředí. Výzkum ukázal, že učitelky volí optimální životní styl k charakteru své profese a vědomě ho formují. Považujeme životní styl za důležitou kategorii v pedeutologii a jejímu výzkumu a formování by se měla věnovat pozornost v profesní přípravě a také při analýze kariéry učitele. The study describes different lifestyles of the female teachers at elementary schools (n=216). Based on research, 14 types of lifestyle have been identified and shown to be conditioned by the factors of environment, upbringing and self-improvement. It has been proved that the most frequently occurring lifestyles are those characterized as performance-oriented and reflective, while they are conditioned by the upbringing and self-education. The most of the other lifestyles have rather been formed by the environment factors. The research has shown that female teachers tend to choose a lifestyle optimally corresponding to the character of their profession and consciously form it. We consider the lifestyle as an important category within pedeutology; its study and formation should be given appropriate attention within the professional teacher training and career analysis. Strategy of handling stress by the basic schools teachers

Studie uvádí poznatky o zvládání stresu u učitelek základních škol, a to jednak na základě výzkumů v letech 1992 a 2002, který byl proveden stejnou metodou výzkumu v roce 2004, který byl proveden dotazníkem SVF 78 ( strategie zvládání stresu) od W. Janka a G. Erdemannové. Srovnání všech údajů umožňuje relativně jednotnou prezentaci, která ukazuje na důležitost sociální opory a náhradních aktivit při zvládání stresu u učitelek základních škol a na péči o větší využívání pozitivních copingových strategií. This essay presents some facts about handling stress by basic school female teachers, based on researches from 1992 and 2002 that were carried out using the same method, and on the research that was carried out using the SVF 78 questionnaire (the strategy of handling stress) by W. Janek and G. Erdmann. Comparing all the data allows comparatively unified interpretation that points out to the importance of social support and alternate activities when handling stress on the part of basic school female teachers and on taking care of more extensive usage of positive coping strategies. Teacher's emotional stability: preliminary results of self-other agreement

The study consists of five parts. The overview from the research of the mental health of the Czech teachers is presented in the introduction. In the second part a history of the concept of the Emotional Stability/Instability (Neuroticism) is mentioned. The best known methods for measuring Emotional Stability/Instability (Neuroticism), specially NEO Personality Inventory (NEO-PI-R) are described in the third part. The fourth part includes data from the research in which the teachers self-rated on the basis of the NEO Personality Inventory and also were rated by a second person for the same traits (Neuroticism). The results do not confirm a high level of Neuroticism and its facets among the teachers in comparsion with the control group, and also any statistically significant differences between the self-rating and peer-rating were confirmed. In conclusion the unambiguous results concering the level of Neuroticism among Czech teachers are dealt with. The teacher stressing situations in the teacher - adololescent pupil relationship

Some interactions between the teacher and the adolescent pupil in the pedagogical process may involve a considerable amount of stress. The research described in this article involved a group of 368 teachers at the elementary and secondary schools, both men and women, who defined these situations and determinated their level of difficulty. They are mainly characterized by a very self-confident or even self-important behaviour of the pupils trying to have their way, asserting themselves in a rude way and lacking consideration for the others. With older teenagers, the teachers tend to be more tolarant of some of these ways, which in turn reduces their stress. The level of stress is affected by the gender factor (man and woman teachers) and school level (basic/secondary school). The study of this problem area may also be an important source of information for the teachers to draw on.
