Key words: diminution, apostrophe, pragmatics, speech situation, linguistic corpora Abstract: This master's thesis deals with pragmatic use of diminutives in French. The theoretical part defines the category of diminutives and possibilities of their classification, in particular with regards to their pragmatic use. Following Dressler-Merlini Barbaresi's model, this thesis accentuates emotional component of diminutives besides the traditional interpretation of dimensional meaning employed in child-centered speech situations, pet-centered speech situations and lover-centered speech situations. The master's thesis focuses on affected apostrophes. Between those hypocorisms in French, besides other forms, one can also find diminutive forms. The language materials for the empirical analysis are subcorpora of film subtitles and fiction in parallel linguistic corpora InterCorp aligned French-Czech. This alignment with Czech language on one hand serves to more efficient search of diminutives in pragmatic speech situations in French, on the other hand it serves to contrastive analysis. We used also monolinguistic corpora FRANTEXT and SYN2015 to demonstrate the frequency of diminutives forms in apostrophe in Czech and French. In the empirical part we analyze which diminutives are employed in those speech situations... Klíčová slova: deminutiva, oslovení, pragmatika, mluvní situace, jazykový korpus Abstrakt: Tato diplomová práce se zabývá pragmatickým užitím deminutiv v současné francouzštině. Teoretická část je věnována vymezení deminutiv a možnostem jejich klasifikace, zejm. s ohledem na jejich užití pragmatické. Podle modelu Dresslera & Merlini-Barbaresi práce zdůrazňuje kromě tradičního pojetí významu malé velikosti emocionální složku zdrobnělin používaných v komunikaci mezi milenci a v mluvních situacích orientovaných na děti a domácí zvířata. Práce se zaměřuje zejména na afektovaná oslovení. Mezi těmito hypokoristiky se ve francouzštině objevují mimo jiné právě deminutivní tvary. Zdrojem jazykového materiálu pro analýzu jsou subkorpusy filmových titulků a beletrie v paralelním korpusu InterCorp, zarovnané čeština-francouzština. Zarovnání s češtinou slouží jednak pro efektivnější vyhledávání pragmatického užití deminutiv ve francouzštině, jednak pro kontrastivní analýzu. K nastínění četnosti jednotlivých lexémů oslovení ve francouzštině a češtině jsme použili jednojazyčné korpusy FRANTEXT a SYN2015. V praktické části diplomové práce zkoumáme, jaká deminutiva se ve zmíněných situacích vyskytují a jakými dalšími prostředky jsou tyto pragmatické situace vyjádřeny.

Skrytá přítomnost Romaina Garyho v díle Émila Ajara

This diploma thesis is examining hidden presence of a French author Romain Gary in the works of Émile Ajar. Only after Gary's death the public learned, that Émile Ajar was in fact Gary's pseudonym, although he has publicly denied this connection throughout his life. Because of this unrevealed mystification, Gary was given Goncourt prize twice, despite the fact that each author is only allowed to receive it once. Gary claims in his testament, that an observant reader of his work should immediately discover the connection. Can we agree with him, even if literary critics failed to find out? This work investigates various literary practices used by authors to hide their identity. The "lives" of both authors are presented. Gary did not only create Émile Ajar's life story, he also persuaded his nephew to pose as Ajar in public. The stories are followed by a comparative analysis of eight novels: four published under Gary's name and four under the pseudonym. Comparing the selected works from diverse aspects, we try to answer the principal question: Was it possible to prove that Émile Ajar was Gary's creation during his very lifetime? Tématem této diplomové práce je hledání skryté přítomnosti francouzského spisovatele Romaina Garyho v díle Émila Ajara. Až po Garyho smrti se veřejnost dozvěděla, že Émile Ajar je ve skutečnosti pouze jeden z Garyho pseudonymů, přestože on tuto skutečnost veřejně popíral. Díky této neodhalené mystifikaci mu byla podruhé udělena Goncourtova cena, přestože ji každý spisovatel může získat pouze jednou za život. Nicméně Gary ve svém testamentu tvrdí, že pozorný čtenář jeho děl by toto spojení měl ihned odhalit. Můžeme s ním souhlasit, přestože toto spojení neodhalili ani literární kritici? Práce zkoumá různé literární postupy, které spisovatelé používají k zamaskování své identity. Dále představuje "životy" obou spisovatelů. Gary Ajarovi nejen vytvořil životní příběh, ale navíc přesvědčil svého synovce, aby se za něj vydával na veřejnosti. Následuje komparativní analýza osmi knih: čtyř románů Romaina Garyho a čtyř románů Émila Ajara. Porovnáváním vybraných děl ze stejných hledisek se pokusíme zodpovědět ústřední otázku - bylo možné Garyho usvědčit ze stvoření Émila Ajara ještě během jeho života?

This diploma thesis on Commented Translation of Joël Casséus' Crépuscules consists of translation of the first three chapters of the Quebec novel Crépuscules into the Czech language and subsequent expert commentary. This commentary focuses on the analysis of the novel genre that balances science fiction and modern myth, as well as the Christiane Nord analysis of the original text through which it explores external factors such as author, reader, intention, text function or its motive and intra-text factors such as theme and content, composition, nonverbal components, lexicon, syntax, and suprasegmental phenomena. Subsequently, in the commentary, we deal with translation problems, their solutions and applied translation procedures such as transposition, modification, compensation, generalization or specification. Diplomová práce na téma Komentovaný překlad románu Crépuscules Joëla Casséuse sestává z překladu tří prvních kapitol québeckého románu Crépuscules do českého jazyka a následného odborného komentáře. Komentář se blíže zaměřuje na rozbor žánru románu, který balancuje mezi sci-fi a moderním mýtem, dále na analýzu výchozího textu dle studie Christiane Nord, v rámci které jsou zkoumány jak vnětextové faktory jako autor, čtenář, intence, funkce textu či jeho motiv, tak faktory vnitrotextové jako téma a obsah, kompozice, nonverbální složky, lexikum, syntax a suprasegmentální jevy. Následně se v komentáři zabýváme překladatelskými problémy a jejich řešením a konečně uplatněnými překladatelskými postupy jako transpozice, modifikace, kompenzace, generalizace nebo specifikace.

Antihrdinové ve francouzském románu noir

(in English): This work will consist in an analysis of the antiheroes in modern French literature, especially in "Roman Noir". Before treating the topic of antiheroes in mystery fiction we will describe the history of this type of protagonists in world literatures, from the classic literature to the modern one. To be able to understand the problematics of antiheroes in Roman Noir, we will also describe the history of French mystery fiction. Regarding the analysis of antiheroes in this sub- genre of crime fiction, we will start with the character of Maigret. Although the novels of G. Simenon are not real Romans Noirs, we consider them as a "passage" of the detective novel - in the traditional sense - to the Roman Noir. Furthermore, in this work, we will analyze characters of real Romans Noirs; first, the crude and surprising behavior of Nestor Burma, a famous character of Léo Malet, then the mediocrity of protagonists of the novels Morgue pleine and Le Petit Bleu de la côte ouest of Jean-Patrick Manchette, and finally, Fabio Montale, an atypical investigator from a novel series of the late twentieth century written by Jean-Claude Izzo. (česky) Práce je zaměřena na analýzu antihrdinů v moderní francouzské literatuře, konkrétně v tzv. noirové fikci. Před samotnou analýzou jednotlivých antihrdinů, s nimiž se setkáváme v detektivním žánru, stručně přiblížíme vývoj tohoto typu postav, a to od klasické řecké literatury až po moderní éru. Abychom lépe porozuměli výskytu antihrdinů v noirových románech, teoretická část práce se bude věnovat také vývoji detektivního románu ve Francii a zrodu noirové fikce. Analýzu antihrdinů v námi vybraném subžánru započneme postavou Julese Maigreta. Přestože romány G. Simenona nejsou skutečnými noirovými romány, vnímáme je jako "můstek" mezi tradiční detektivkou a noirovým románem. Následně se zaměříme na antihrdiny ve skutečných noirových románech. Zprvu se budeme věnovat nezvyklému, místy až brutálnímu chování Nestora Burmy, kultovní postavy z pera Léa Maleta, posléze ordinérním postavám z románů Plná márnice a Tři muži na zabití Jeana-Patricka Manchette a nakonec postavě Fabia Montala, neobvyklého vyšetřovatele z románové série Jeana-Clauda Izzoa z devadesátých let.

Attributive absolute constructions in contemporary French The aim of this master thesis is a detailed analysis of French attributive absolute constructions (att. AC) with emphasis on their semantic characteristics. Att. AC is an example of what is called "secondary predication", i.e. a non-finite predicative structure modifying the primary predication, see a typical example "les yeux fermés", 'the eyes closed', in the sentence "Marie est assise, les yeux fermés.", 'Mary sits with her eyes closed.'. The main function of the att. AC is the modification of the head noun through the relation of inalienable possession (IP), or a part - whole relation, between this noun, which is mostly a human being, and an entity conceptualized in the att. AC. The thesis finds its main source in a monograph about AC written by Suzanne Hanon (1989), which is here completed by a qualitative analysis of syntactic and semantic factors that come into play in the formation of att. AC. Att. AC are approached form the perspective of Cognitive Linguistics and Construction Grammar as conceptualizations of the IP (or part - whole) paradigm and it is proposed their description as a prototype-based category with some instances more typical (see the example above) than others (e.g. att. AC with an adverbial function or modifying an... Atributivní absolutní konstrukce v současné francouzštině Cílem diplomové práce je podrobná analýza francouzských atributivních absolutních konstrukcí (at. AK) s důrazem na jejich sémantické vlastnosti. At. AK jsou příkladem sekundární predikace, tj. nefinitní predikativní struktury modifikující predikaci primární, viz typický příklad "les yeux fermés", ,oči zavřené', z věty "Marie est assise, les yeux fermés.", ,Marie sedí se zavřenýma očima.'. Základní funkcí at. AK je modifikace řídícího substantiva za využití vztahu nezcizitelného vlastnictví (NV) či vztahu část - celek mezi tímto substantivem, zpravidla člověkem, a entitou konceptualizovanou v at. AK. Práce vychází zejména z monografie Suzanne Hanon (1989) věnované obecně AK a doplňuje ji kvalitativní analýzou syntakticko-sémantických faktorů, které se při tvorbě at. AK uplatňují. At. The subject of this diploma thesis is the French national heroine Joan of Arc and her portrayal and reflection in literary works throughout the centuries. The diploma thesis mentions the historical personality of Joan of Arc in the context of the time she lived in, reconstructs the life of this French saint and deals with the rehabilitation process that completes the myth of the French national heroine. This diploma thesis summarizes the important European literary works that Joan of Arc is the most important theme. The diploma thesis deals more with literary works in which Joan of Arc is the main character but each author writes her story and describes her personality from a different point of view. And precisely these differences of the thesis are analyzed. The diploma thesis focuses more on the literary works of various authors such as Voltaire, Jules Michelet, Anatole France and Stéphen Coubé. The diploma thesis deals also with the portrayal of Joan of Arc in the 20th and 21st centuries. Předmětem diplomové práce je francouzská národní hrdinka Johanka z Arku a její zobrazení a reflexe v literárních dílech napříč stoletími. Diplomová práce zasazuje historickou postavu do kontextu doby, ve které žila, rekonstruuje život této francouzské světice a zabývá se rehabilitačním procesem, který dotvořil mýtus o národní hrdince. Diplomová práce shrnuje, jakým významným evropským literárním dílům stála Johanka z Arku předlohou. Diplomová práce se pak podrobněji zabývá literárními díly, v nichž figuruje jako hlavní postava právě Johanka, avšak každý autor ji čtenářům vylíčil ze svého úhlu pohledu. A právě tyto odlišnosti diplomová práce analyzuje. Diplomová práce se detailněji soustředí na literární díla autorů jako jsou Voltaire, Jules Michelet, Anatole France či Stéphen Coubé. At the same time, the parallel intention is the comparison of this type of education in theese two countries. We also focus not only on the theoretical arrangement of the homeschooling in the legislation of the both countries, but we also analyse the practical part of it. It is why the inseparable part of this thesis is also the analyse of the concrete practical activities and operations that each family, educating their childs at home, have to completes. From the point of view of the structure of the basic objectives, that is why this thesis is create as the analyse of the homeschooling from the theoretical and practical point of view. That is the theoretical base of the thesis. The practical part is create as the critical analyse and the evaluation of collected knowledges composing not only from the individual comparisons of the concrete themes and from the issues of the homeschooling in the Czech republic and in the France, but also from the creation of the conclusions following from the accumulated informations. Zároveň se zaměříme nejen na teoretické ukotvení domácího vzdělávání v legislativě obou zemí, ale analyzujeme i jeho praktickou část. Proto nedílnou součástí práce je i analýza konkrétních praktických aktivit a úkonů, které každá rodina, vzdělávající své děti doma, musí absolvovat. Z hlediska struktury základních cílů je proto tato práce koncipována jako analýza domácího vzdělávání z teoretického i praktického hlediska, což tvoří teoretickou základnu této práce. The thesis analyses novels l'Étranger and Meursault, contre-enquête, which represent an example of literary dialogue reflecting problems associated with postcolonial society. The comparison of texts shows changes made by Kamel Daoud and the shifting values taking place in this transformation. Emphasis is placed on the characters, and especially on the onomastic system, to illustrate the main difference in the message of selected novels. The introduction focuses on contradictory public perception of writers and their native country, Algeria. The main part compares semantic differences of these two books. To strengthen the comparison, the word frequency analysis has been used and it showed important disproportions between both texts. The conclusion discusses the crucial role of language, which in both cases is divided into two contradictory categories that are the source of certain tension. The result of this work is an interpretation of Daoud's work, in which the possibilities of new interpretations of Camus's work also appear, partly thanks to the comparison with texts written by important postcolonial theoreticians. The issue of searching for identity, presented in the literature since time immemorial, derives from the contact of two different cultures and occupies a significant place in Daoud's... Diplomová práce analyzuje romány l'Étranger a Meursault, contre-enquête, které představují příklad literárního dialogu, jenž odráží problémy spojené s postkoloniální společností. Srovnání textů ukazuje, jakým způsobem Kamel Daoud obměňuje původní text a k jakým hodnotovým posunům při této transformaci dochází. Důraz je kladen na jednotlivé postavy, na nichž se dá nejlépe ilustrovat odlišnost poselství vybraných románů, a to mimo jiné i díky rozboru onomastických systémů. V úvodu je pozornost věnována vzájemnému vztahu Alberta Camuse a Alžírska, který se zdá být značně rozporuplný. V hlavní části se detailně popisuje zmíněný významový posun mezi oběma díly, k čemuž dopomáhá porovnání počtu výskytů klíčových slov. Závěr se soustředí na důležitou roli jazyka, jenž je v obou případech rozdělen do dvou protichůdných kategorií, jež jsou zdrojem románového napětí. Výsledkem práce je interpretace Daoudova díla, v jejímž světle se rovněž objevují možnosti nových interpretací díla Camusova, a to obzvláště díky porovnání s texty významných teoretiků postkoloniálních studií. Do popředí vystupuje téma hledání identity, jež je motivováno kontaktem dvou odlišných kultur, ke kterému dochází od pradávna, což se odráží již v klasické mytologii, na kterou ve svých dílech oba autoři odkazují. v anglickém jazyce The subject of this diploma thesis is the work of the francophone writer Patrick Chamoiseau. The thesis reflects especially the theme of slavery in short stories and fairy tales of this Martinique author. The diploma thesis puts Patrick Chamoiseau's work in a historical and political context as well as the personal life of the writer. The diploma thesis describes geographic and cultural particularities of the Lesser Antilles and analyzes in more detail the story The Slave Old Man and the Giant Dog and selected fairy tales. Based on this analysis, the thesis describes typical themes and language tools used by Patrick Chamoiseau. The thesis also deals with oral literature and culture of Martinique and the current problems of society are also discussed through a reflection of another work by Patrick Chamoiseuau. v českém jazyce Předmětem diplomové práce je dílo frankofonního spisovatele Patricka Chamoiseaua. Diplomová práce reflektuje zvláště tematiku otroctví v povídkách a pohádkách martinického autora. Diplomová práce zasazuje dílo Patricka Chamoiseaua do historického a politického kontextu a také osobního života spisovatele. Diplomová práce přibližuje geografické a kulturní zvláštnosti oblasti Malých Antil. Diplomová práce dále podrobněji analyzuje povídku Otrok stařec a obří pes a vybrané pohádky. In this dissertation, the aim is to show the influence of Nicolas Berdiaev's philosophy on the Latin American movement of the Theology of Liberation. The goal is to clarify the meaning of what would mean a "revolutionary Christianity" from this theological movement. We try to show that they approach in an original way a certain number of phenomena. In the first chapter we try to characterize the notion of "structural sin". This allows us to show how sin becomes "institution" and "ideology". We try to provide a Christian analysis of the phenomenon of secularization and to show how the struggle against idolatry takes on the meaning, within this phenomenon, of fighting against the ideology of exclusion. In a second chapter we try to characterize the poor, victim of this ideology of exclusion as the "theological place" from which the Church must be established. This will lead us to reflect on what the "periphery" is and to think of a movement of "decentralization" of the Church. In the third and last part, we seek to clarify two historical dynamics that we call "teleological" and "eschatological" respectively. We then try to understand the Kingdom of God as the final object of the eschatological dynamic that we are trying to characterize, and we characterize the teleological dynamics as a cause and consequence... Il s'agit dans ce mémoire de montrer l'influence de la philosophie de Nicolas Berdiaev sur le mouvement latino-américain de la Théologie de la libération. Le but étant d'expliciter le sens de ce que signifierait un « christianisme révolutionnaire » à partir de ce mouvement théologique. Nous essayons de montrer qu'ils abordent de manière originale un certain nombre de phénomènes. Dans le premier chapitre nous essayons de caractériser la notion de « péché structurel ». Cela nous permet de montrer comment est-ce que le péché se fait « institution » et « idéologie ». Nous essayons de fournir une analyse chrétienne du phénomène de sécularisation et de montrer comment est-ce que la lutte contre l'idolâtrie prend le sens, au sein de ce phénomène, de lutte contre l'idéologie de l'exclusion. Dans un second chapitre nous essayons de caractériser le pauvre, victime de cette idéologie de l'exclusion comme le « lieu théologique » à partir duquel doit s'établir l'Eglise. Cela nous amènera à porter une réflexion sur ce qu'est la « périphérie » et à penser un mouvement de « décentralisation » de l'Eglise. Dans la troisième et dernière partie, nous cherchons à mettre à jour deux dynamiques historiques que nous qualifions respectivement de « téléologique » et « eschatologique ».
