Román zasvěcení jako žánr a jeho prvky ve vybraných dílech Hermanna Hesseho

The theoretical part of this master thesis is based on the literary genre of the initiation novel, as presented by Daniela Hodrová. In an effort to gain a deeper insight into the novel's typical figures and spatial motifs, the theoretical part also contains a summary of archetypes described by C. G. Jung. In the practical part, principles of the initiation genre are demonstrated on the novels Demian and Steppenwolf written by the German author Hermann Hesse. The aim of the thesis is to provide a proof that the two novels can be assigned to the initiation novel genre and also to make use of the means presented in the theoretical part for an analysis of the initiation of the protagonists. The initiation in Demian is presented as a precursor of the initiation described in Steppenwolf. Therefore, the result of this thesis is also an attempt to present the philosophical connection between the analysed novels. Ve snaze o hlubší porozumění typickým motivům postav a prostoru obsahuje teoretická část také stručný výklad archetypů, jak je popisuje C. G. Jung. V praktické části jsou zákonitosti románu zasvěcení představeny na románech Demian a Stepní vlk německého spisovatele Hermanna Hesseho. Cílem práce je přinést důkaz o oprávněnosti žánrového zařazení obou děl coby románů zasvěcení, a dále pak využít prostředků teoretické části k podrobné interpretaci průběhu zasvěcení, jež ústřední postavy prodělávají. Na zasvěcení v románu Demian je v této souvislosti nahlíženo jako na předstupeň zasvěcení ve Stepním vlkovi. Hlavním tématem následující diplomové práce je demonstrace a vysvětlení kulturních standardů ve vybraných dílech literatury dvacátého století. Vzhledem ke studovanému oboru, byl výběr knih zaměřen především na česko-německý areál. Práce v sobě pojí dva prvky, jež byly součástí dosavadního studia, a sice interkulturní komunikaci a literaturu. Druhým cílem této práce je potvrzení či vyvrácení hypotézy, že napříč mezi kulturními standardy existuje jistá vzájemná souvislost. Tato diplomová práce se skládá celkem ze tří částí. První z nich se věnuje oboru Interkulturní komunikace a jejím hlavním pojmům. Dále následuje objasnění teorie kulturních standardů. V poslední části, kterou je také možno považovat za část praktickou, budou standardy analyzovány a vysvětleny na příkladech zvolených literárních děl. The main topic of this master thesis is a demonstration and explanation of cultural standards in selected works of twentieth century. In relation to studied field, is the selection of literature oriented towards the czech-german area. The thesis binds together two subjects of the previous studies - the intercultural communication and literature. The second goal of this thesis is to prove, that there is certain correlation across the cultural standards. This thesis consists of three parts. The first one is dedicated to the intercultural communication and its main terms. After that follows a chapter about the cultural standards. In the last part, which could be observed as a practical field, the cultural standard will be analyzed and explained with the examples found in the selected literature.

This thesis deals with female characters, concepts of feminity and gender aspects of the image of society and culture in the work of the leading representative of Prague German bohemians Paul Leppin. The subject of the analysis is both the prose work of the author (novels Daniel Jesus, 1905, Severins Gang in Die Finsternis, 1914 and Hüter der Freude, 1918) and selected essays (Venus auf Abwegen, 1920). On one hand, the analyses offer contextualization of intra-textual images of women and femininity in contemporary discourse; on the other hand, they are subjected to the relevant concepts of gender studies as described in the introduction of the thesis (especially Judith Fetterley). Práce se zabývá ženskými postavami, koncepty feminity a genderovými aspekty obrazu společnosti a kultury v díle předního představitele pražské německé bohémy Paula Leppina. Předmětem analýzy je jak prozaická tvorba autora (romány Daniel Jesus, 1905, Severins Gang in die Finsternis, 1914 a Hüter der Freude, 1918), tak i vybrané esejistické texty (sbírka Venus auf Abwegen, 1920). Rozbory nabízejí na jedné straně kontextualizaci vnitrotextových obrazů ženy a ženskosti v dobovém diskurzu, na straně druhé jsou podrobeny relevantním konceptům genderových studií, které jsou popsány v úvodu práce (zejm. Judith Fetterley).

This thesis deals with the concept of the machine in the works of the German writer Ernst Jünger (1895-1998). It analyses the author's opinions about the machine and technology expressed in his essays, as well as the way how Ernst Jünger depicts the machine in his war memoirs. Due to the considerable amount of the author's publications, only his early work is taken into consideration. This creative period begins 1918 with Jüngers return from the front-line service and ends, from the specific perspective of the chosen subject, 1932 with the publication of the essay The Worker. The mentioned essay represents together with a shorter paper titled Total Mobilization (1930) a separate chapter in the author's understanding of technology and is therefore given adequate space in the present thesis. The writer's concepts of machine and technology, which have been published prior to the Worker, are largely observed in the light of this later development of his ideas. In the final chapter it is attempted to show how the structure of the author's front-line experience is reflected in some of his ideas concerning the problem of modern technology. Předložená práce se zabývá pojetím stroje v díle německého spisovatele Ernsta Jüngera (1895-1998). Analyzovány jsou jak autorovy myšlenky týkající se stroje a techniky vyjádřené v esejích, tak způsob, jakým Ernst Jünger ve svých beletristických dílech stroj zobrazuje. Zohledněna je z důvodu značného rozsahu autorova díla pouze fáze jeho rané tvorby, začínající roku 1918 návratem z fronty a končící ve specifické perspektivě zvoleného tématu vydáním eseje Dělník (1932) a následným nástupem nacismu k moci. Zmíněný esej tvoří spolu s kratším spisem Totální Mobilizace (1930) z hlediska pojetí techniky samostatnou kapitolu autorovy tvorby a je mu proto v práci věnován odpovídající prostor. Dřívější spisovatelovy myšlenky jsou pozorovány do značné míry s ohledem na tento pozdější vývoj. V závěrečné kapitole je naznačeno, jak se struktura autorovy frontové zkušenosti zrcadlí v některých jeho myšlenkách, které se týkají problému moderní techniky.

- Master Thesis 2019 On the Concept of Hyle in Husserl's Time Theory : First Step into the Phenomenology of Hyle Seongkyeong Joung This paper examines the status and the role of the concept of Hyle in Husserl's time theory as long as its problematic is subsumed within the problematic of the transcendental constitution. We will show how the problems in the early time lectures (1904/5) are partially solved with the discovery of the dimension of passive intentionality in the Bernauer manuscripts (1917/18) and the lectures on passive synthesis (1920-26) and thereby how Hyle's problematic broaden, that in the C-manuscripts (1929-1934) this problem is eventually subsumed into the problematic of the functioning ego, and that nevertheless Hyle itself remains as a non-reducing component which makes possible phenomenological questions about alterity. Wir zeigen, wie die Probleme in den frühen Zeitvorlesungen(1904/5) mit der Entdeckung der Dimension der passiven Intentionalität in die Bernauer Manuskripten(1917/18) und den Vorlesungen über die passive Synthesis(1920-26) gelöst werden und damit die Problematik in Bezug auf die Hyle erweitert wurde, dass diese Problematik in den C-Manuskripten(1929-1934) von dreißiger Jahre in die Problematik des fungierenden Ich subsumiert wurde und dass dennoch die Hyle selbst als ein sich nicht darauf zu reduzierender Bestand bleibt. Thesis Didactic work about the stories of Jim Button from Michael Ende with focus on literary and language education investigates the feasible utilization of a literary work within teaching a foreign language. Thesis is composed of both theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, attention is given to the importance of texts, especially literary texts, as means for teaching foreign language. In respect to the utilization of the literature within foreign language teaching, the thesis highlights the development of target competencies, improvement of language skills and the overall growth of student's personality. Literature is shown as a sphere competent to enrich the common language teaching with a literary experience and an intercultural aspect. Further, the thesis introduces Jim Button novels written by Michael Ende and their specifics from the point of view of their usage by teaching foreign languages. Last but not least, suggestions for work with the novel about Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver are provided as an alternative teaching material for tuition of German language as a foreign language Diplomová práce na téma Didaktické zpracování vyprávění o Jimu Knoflíkovi od Michaela Endeho se zaměřením na literární a jazykovou výchovu se zabývá možným využitím literárního díla při výuce cizího jazyka. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části se práce zaměřuje na význam textů jako prostředku při výuce cizího jazyka, zejména pak textů literárních. V souvislosti s využíváním literatury v cizojazyčném vyučování práce poukazuje na rozvoj cílových kompetencí, jazykových dovedností a na celkový rozvoj žákovy osobnosti. Literatura je zde představena jako oblast, která může obohatit klasickou výuku cizích jazyků o literární zážitek a interkulturní aspekt. Další část práce seznamuje s romány o Jimu Knoflíkovi od Michaela Endeho a s jejich specifiky s ohledem na využití těchto textů při výuce cizího jazyka. Nakonec práce nabízí podněty pro práci s románem Jim Knoflík, Lukáš a lokomotiva Ema jako s alternativním výukovým materiálem při výuce němčiny jako cizího jazyka.

This master's dissertation deals with the elaboration of a didactic adaptation of the novel Tschick by Wolfgang Herrndorf and its film adaptation. The goal of this master's dissertation is to create a complete educational project that is used in a real school curriculum. In the theoretical part, the basic principles for creating such a project are expounded: The terms literature and film in teaching German are explained. Moreover, there are reasons listed why literature and films ought to be a firm part of second language teaching. The literary work Tschick by Wolfgang Herrndorf is dealt with in the perspective of literary studies. Furthermore, the theoretical and methodological principles are introduced in the purpose of creating such a project. This is implemented in the practical part of this master's dissertation using the novel Tschick by Wolfgang Herrndorf and its film adaptation as a foundation of this project. Thus, the lesson materials and plans are created that are used at a real school, Gymnázium, Praha 6, Arabská 14, where a group of 17 students, who are at level A2, is chosen for this project. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vypracováním didaktické adaptace románu Čik od Wolfganga Herrndorfa a jeho filmové adaptace. Cílem této práce je vytvořit ucelený projekt zaměřený na zpracování právě tohoto literárního a filmového díla, který bude použit ve skutečné škole. V teoretické části jsou vyloženy základní principy pro vytvoření takového projektu: Jsou vysvětleny termíny literatura a film ve výuce němčiny. Dále je objasněno, proč by měly být literatura a film pevnou součástí výuky cizích jazyků. Literární dílo Čik of Wolfganga Herrndorfa je zpracováno rovněž z perspektivy literární vědy. Dále jsou v rozsáhlé třetí kapitole zpracovány teoreticko-metodické principy, např stanovení cílů a organizace výuky pomocí různých modelů, které jsou v praktické části využity k vytvoření učebních materiálů a plánů hodin, jež budou využity na čtyřletém gymnáziu. Konkrétně se jedná o Gymnázium, Praha 6, Arabská 14, kde je autor zaměstnán. Tam je zvolena pro projekt skupina 17 žáků, kteří jsou na úrovni A2. Vzhledem k tomu, že je škola technicky velmi dobře vybavena, jsou v průběhu vyučování nasazeny informační technologie při různých aktivitách. Vítězky a poražené. Obrazy žen v románech Theodora Fontana Frau Jenny Treibel a Effi Briest

This Master's thesis deals with female characters of the socially critical novel Frau Jenny Treibel by Theodor Fontane, in order to find out whether the heroines are satisfied in their social roles or whether they try to challenge the social norms, and what role their social background and education play in this matter. Furthermore, we ask what life goals these women pursue and how successful they are in fulfilling them. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter sketches Fontane's biography with the emphasis on the importance of his numerous friendships with women and his ambivalent relationship to female emancipation. Based on literature research, the second chapter introduces poetic realism focusing on Fontane's specific position in it - as a critical realist with elements of modernity. The third, longest chapter, contains the analysis and interpretation of the individual female characters of the novel. We have found, that regardless their social class and education, the heroines live under social conventions, according to which their main goal is an advantageous marriage, functioning at the same time as the measure of their success. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá ženskými postavami v sociálně kritickém románu Theodora Fontana Frau Jenny Treibel, s cílem zjistit, nakolik jsou hrdinky ve své sociální roli spokojené, či zda-li se snaží proti společenským normám bojovat, případně jakou přitom hraje roli jejich sociální vrstva a vzdělání. Také se ptáme, jaké cíle si tyto ženy stanovují a jak se jim daří jejich plnění. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. V první kapitole je uveden Fontanův životopis, ve kterém je zdůrazněn význam jeho četných přátelství s ženami a jeho ambivalentní vztah k ženské emancipaci, ve druhé kapitole je na základě rešerše odborné literatury představen poetický realismus, v rámci kterého Fontane jako kritický realista s prvky moderny zaujímá specifické místo, a ve třetí, nejrozsáhlejší kapitole je provedena analýza a interpretace jednotlivých ženských postav románu. Zjišťujeme, že nehledě na sociální původ a vzdělání, hrdinky žijí konformně pod společenskou konvencí, dle které je jejich hlavním životním cílem výhodný sňatek, který se zároveň stává měřítkem jejich úspěšnosti. Pro tu jsou obě protagonistky, mladá intelektuální měšťanka Corinna a zkušenější zástupkyně buržoazie Jenny, ochotné nasadit všechny zbraně a obětovat pravé city. The aim of this lexicographical study is to compare the fashion terminology with an emphasis on the 1920s in two German-Czech dictionaries from the first half of the 20th century: Encyclopaedic German-Czech Dictionary by J. V. Sterzinger (1916-1935) and German-Czech Concise Dictionary by J. Janko/H. Siebenschein (1936-1944). The intention is to trace differences in the structure of a lemma and to trace the reasons for its presence (or absence) in the dictionary. Two hypotheses were established for the research. No. 1: New fashion terminology created under certain cultural-historical conditions is represented only in the younger of the two dictionaries; No. 2: The frequency of fashion terminology is higher in the encyclopaedic dictionary than in the concise dictionary. A quantitative analysis was performed on a sample of 370 fashion terms, refuting hypothesis No. 2. It was found that the representation of fashion terminology is similar in both dictionaries. The quantitative- qualitative analysis of the lemma microstructure of the individual fashion terms confirmed hypothesis No. 1. The analysis revealed that the english fashion terminology typical of the 1920s is more frequent in the younger of the two dictionaries. Předložená lexikografická studie si klade za úkol porovnat zpracování módní terminologie s důrazem na 20. léta 20. století ve dvou překladových německo-českých slovnících z první pol. 20. stol.: Encyklopedický německo-český J.V. Sterzingera (1916-1935) a Příruční německo-český J. Janka/H. Siebenscheina (1936-1944). Záměrem je vysledovat rozdíly ve výstavbě lexikografického hesla, popř. vystopovat důvody jeho (ne)přítomnosti ve slovníku. Pro výzkum byly stanoveny dvě hypotézy: 1. Nová módní terminologie vzniklá za určitých kulturně-historických podmínek je zastoupena pouze v mladším z obou slovníků, 2. Frekvence módní terminologie je v encyklopedickém slovníku vyšší než v příručním. Na vzorku 370 módních termínů byla provedena kvantitativní analýza, při které byla vyvrácena teze č. 2. Bylo zjištěno, že zastoupení módní terminologie dané zkoumaným vzorkem je v obou slovnících rovnoměrné. Kvantitativně-kvalitativní analýza výstavby lexikografického hesla jednotlivých módních termínu potvrdila hypotézu č. 1. Na základě užití slovníkových značek pro jazyk bylo zjištěno, že módní terminologie typická pro 20. léta 20. století je v mladším ze slovníků četnější.

Beginning with the 80-s of the 19th century, literature starts to increasingly take language as a problem. First of all, claims of the language for reflecting the truth are questioned, and, consequently, it is revaluated as an instrument of cognition (mostly, negatively). Very often texts, related to a language conundrum, may contain either anti-religions argumentation, or an active use of imagery, tinged with religion, or Biblical symbology. In this work, the interrelation between religiousness, reflected in the text, and its approach to the problematics of the language are investigated. In the shadow of the crisis of the language of literature modernism, such topics as the process of language secularization, language origin, and the crisis of cognition and of a person have also been touched upon. As exemplified by F. Mauthner, W. Benjamin, H. Hofmannsthal и C. Mierendorff, different concepts of the language and ways out of the crisis, offered by them, are presented. Also, their way to interact with religiousness and and mysticism was taken into account. In the result of the research, a certain tendency has been tapped: in case when a language is approached as an instrument that has no relation to mysticism, it shows its incapacity as an instrument of cognition (Mauthner). V první řadě je zpochybňován jeho přímý vztah k pravdě a tím i jeho funkce jako nástroje poznání. Texty problematizující jazyk přitom často využívají buď protináboženskou argumentaci, nebo volí náboženskou metaforiku. V předložené práci je zkoumán vztah mezi těmito aspekty textu a přístupem k problému jazyka. Tematizovány jsou jevy jako proces sekularizace jazyka, otázka původu řeči, krize poznání a krize subjektu v kontextu krize jazyka literární moderny. Představeny jsou rozdílné koncepce jazyka a východiska z krizové situace na příkladech F. Mauthnera, W. Benjamina, H. V. Hofmannstahla a C. Mierendorffa, přičemž je zohledněn jejich přístup k religiozitě a mystice. Zkoumání - rozkrývá: dvě tendence. Je-li jazyku odepřen vztah k mystice a je-li zobrazován čistě instrumentálně, zdůrazňuje se jeho nevhodnost jakožto nástroje poznání (Mauthner). Vnímá-li se jazyk šířeji než jen jako verbální systém znaků a krize jazyka jako výsledek chybného užití jazyka, jeví se pak tato krize jako produktivní, či snad dokonce nutný obrat (např. Hofmannsthal).
