Stable and instable limit cycles of a reduced aero-elastic system

Many theoretical models of slender prismatic beams in a cross-wind have been developed. They mostly follow various types of the linear approach. The subject considered in this paper represents a part of a complex theoretical background of the general nonlinear model which would enable to predict any system reaction in the pre- and post-critical domain. Bylo vyvinuto mnoho teoretických modelů odezvy prismatického nosníku na působení příčného proudu vzduchu. Většinou vycházejí z různých typů lineární aproximace. Předmětem článku je analýza části komplexního teoretického základu obecného nelineárního modelu, který umožní predikci odezvy systému v pod-kritickém a zejména v post-kritickém režimu.

To assess the resistance of a high-level steel L485MB to corrosion fatigue its fatigue properties were investigated in air, acidic corrosive medium, alkaline corrosive medium, and the fresh water. Cílem práce bylo stanovení únavové odolnosti plynovodní oceli L485MB vůči různým druhům agresivních prostředí.

Image data sequentiality influence on measurement precission of the image correlation method

The contribution demonstrates improvement of digital image correlation displacement measurement's precission achieved by sequential processing of images acquired on several loading substeps in comparison to the presiccion achiavable by processing only the images of the unloaded and loaded state. Práce ukazuje zlepšení přesnosti výsledků měření mechanické deformace těles metodou digitální korelace obrazů zpracováním série obrazů záznamenaných během postupného nárůstu zatížení oproti výsledku založenému na vyhodnocení počáteční a konečné polohy.

The changes in compression strength of wood along and across grain caused by an impact of damage to wood by wood-damaging fungi

The contribution is dedicated to monitoring the effect of time of impact of wood-damaging fungi on mechanical characteristics of spruce wood. Results of mechanical tests are presented in the article - compression strength along grain and compression strength across grain in tangential direction. The tests were carried out on standard samples 20x20x30 mm. The testing samples were exposed, in ideal growth conditions for variable times (5-60 days), to impact of wood-damaging fungi. Serpula lacrymans (wood-damaging fungi with brown, dry-decay) and Trametes versicolor (wood-damaging fungi with white, corrosive decay) were selected for the test. Příspěvek se věnuje sledování vlivu doby působení dřevokazných hub na mechanické vlastnosti smrkového dřeva. V článku jsou prezentovány výsledky mechanických zkoušek - pevnosti v tlaku podél vláken a pevnosti v tlaku napříč vláken v tangenciálním směru. Zkoušky byly provedeny na standardních vzorcích 20x20x30 mm. Zkušební vzorky byly, v ideálních růstových podmínkách po různě dlouhou dobu (5-60 dní), vystaveny působení dřevokazných hub. Pro zkoušku byla vybrána Serpula lacrymans (dřevokazná houba působící hnědou hnilobu) a Trametes versicolor (dřevokazná houba působící bílou hnilobu).

Random response assessment of a single degree of freedom system due to Poissonian impulse chain

The paper makes a sketch of a single degree of freedom (SDOF) system response analysis subjected to a random excitation having a form of the additive Poisson driven independent random impulses. V článku se naznačuje řešení odezvy dynamické soustavy s jedním stupňem volnosti na náhodné buzení typu Poissovského řetězce nezávislých náhodných impulsů.

Future of reliability assessment of steel structures

The rapid development of computer technology makes it possible to anticipate significant improvements in the reliability assessment of steel structures, During the last two decades through the development of the SBRA method, a significant adjustment of the assessment of structural safety, serviceability and durability is now feasible. The probabilistic approach introduces next representation of loads and all other variables affecting the reliability, while the interaction of all variables can be considered using the first as well as second order theory analysis. Rychlý rozvoj výpočetní technologie dovoluje usuzovat, že bude dosaženo významného zlepšení posudků spolehlivosti ocelových konstrukcí. V průběhu posledních dvou desetiletí lze pozorovat zdokonalování metody SBRA (Simulation based reliability assessment) zaměřené na závažné úpravy posudků konstrukcí z hlediska bezpečnosti, použitelnosti a trvanlivosti. Je zaváděno netradiční vyjádření zatížení a všech ostatních náhodně poměných veličin ovlivňujících spolehlivost. Přičemž interakce náhodně proměnných včetně imperfekcí, materiálových vlastností a kombinací účinku zatížení( mohou být důsledně uvažovány při aplikaci teorie prvního i druhého řádu. Aplikace netradiční metody SBFRA je demonstrována na stovkách příkladů.

Assesment of parameters for viscoelastic material using programme ANSYS from nanoindentation

Nanoindentation makes it possible to investigate mechanical properties of material in dependencies on penetration of the indenter also on small amounts of sample. From time course of the indenter penetration it is possible using standard procedures of the computer programme ANSYS to determine coefficients of Prony series for description of the viscoelastic material. Article presents model for simulation of the nanoindentation test in ANSYS and methodics for determination of material constants. Nanoindentace umožňuje zjišťovat mechanické vlastnosti materiálu v závislosti na zaboření indentoru i na malých objemech vzorku. Z časového průběhu zaboření indentoru je možné užitím standardních procedur programu ANSYS stanovit koeficienty Prony řady pro popis viskoelastického materiálu. Článek představuje model pro simulaci zkoušky nanoindentací v ANSYS a metodiku zjištění materiálových konstant.
