2009 - německý Mit Polen, der Tschechoslowakei (resp. Tschechien und der Slowakei) und Deutschland (resp. der DDR und der BDR) hat der vorliegende Sammelband Länder im Blick, deren Geschichte in als auch nach den Weltkriegen eng verflochten war. Die einzelnen Studien diskutieren am Beispiel konkreter Forschungsergebnisse die Grenzen nationaler Betrachtungsweisen und die tatsächliche Tragfähigkeit internationaler und europäischer Interpretationen. Dabei richtet sich die Aufmerksamkeit besonders auf die Frage der "Deutungen der Weltkriege" und mithin der symbolischen Aufladung von Kriegserfahrungen und Kriegserinnerungen in unterschiedlichen Sinnzusammenhängen. Osudy Polska, Československa (resp. České republiky a Slovenska) a Německa (resp. NDR a SRN) byly během světových válek i po nich těsně provázány. Jednotlivé příspěvky se zamýšlejí jednak nad hranicemi nacionálně podmíněných pohledů, jednak nad nosností mezinárodně a evropsky orientovaných interpretací. Pozornost je zaměřena především na otázku "výkladů světových válek", a tím i na symbolickou hodnotu válečných zážitků a válečných vzpomínek v různých významových spojeních a konstruktech. The fates of Poland, Czechoslovakia (or the Czech Republic and Slovakia) and Germany (East and West) were closely intertwined during and after the world wars. These individual papers consider both the boundaries of nationally-conditioned views and the strength of internationally-oriented and Eurocentric interpretations. Attention is focused primarily on the issue of the "interpretations of the world wars" and thus also on the symbolic value of wartime experiences and memories in various meaning constructs and associations.
