In March 2014 CVVM investigated Czech public's views with regard to foreigners who live in the long term or permanently in the Czech Republic. Majority (63 %) claimed that foreigners living in the Czech Republic should become conformed to Czech cultural habits as much as possible, another of informants (32 %) said that foreigners should adapt to czech cultural habits just in some aspects. And 4% said that foreigners should be allowed to live according to their habits. V březnovém šetření Centrum pro výzkum veřejného mínění zjišťovalo, do jaké míry se od cizinců dlouhodobě či trvale žijících na území ČR očekává, že se přizpůsobí našim životním zvyklostem. Pozornost byla také zaměřena na hodnocení vlivu vybraných aspektů, které by dotyčnému, jež se přistěhuje do České republiky ze zahraničí, mohly pomoct, aby nebyl vnímán jako cizinec.

Public Opinion on European Union Membership - April 2014

The report presents some results of April 2014 wave of the continuous survey, which concerns the EU membership. The topics presented here are the satisfaction with EU membership, the pride of people in context of being citizens of European Union and their evaluation of pros and cons of the membership. The report contains also comparison of development of Czech public attitudes towards EU membership. V dubnu 2014 bylo v pravidelném šetření Naše společnost zkoumáno téma Evropské unie. Tato zpráva přináší informace o spokojenosti s členstvím v Evropské unii, o pocitech hrdosti na příslušnost k ní u obyvatel České republiky a také o jejich hodnocení kladných a záporných stránek členství. Zpráva rovněž nabízí časové srovnání s předcházejícími výzkumy.

In April, the Centre for Public Opinion Research focused on satisfaction with life in the locality in general and selected living conditions close to their home. 76 % of Czechs are satisfied with living conditions in their place of residence. Less than a fifth is not satisfied. V dubnovém šetření se Centrum pro výzkum veřejného mínění dotazovalo občanů na spokojenost se životem v místě svého bydliště a také na hodnocení vybraných životních podmínek.

In the May survey the Public Opinion Research Centre has focused on the forthcoming elections to the European Parliament. V rámci květnového šetření se Centrum pro výzkum veřejného mínění věnovalo blížícím se volbám do Evropského parlamentu. Výzkum konkrétně zjišťoval, zda lidé slyšeli o tom, že 23. a 24. května budou občané ČR volit poslance do Evropského parlamentu, zda se o volby do EP zajímají, zda půjdou volit a pokud ano, tak koho, a co bude důležité pro jejich rozhodování, pro koho budou hlasovat.

In November 2014 within the regular survey CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i., questioned respondents about their confidence in constitutional institutions. In this month there was a question about their trust to Chambers of Parliament, President, Government and Regional Councils. V rámci šetření Centra pro výzkum veřejného mínění SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i., byla v listopadu 2014 respondentům položena pravidelná otázka, zda důvěřují jednotlivým ústavním institucím. Do výzkumu byly zařazeny horní a dolní komora Parlamentu ČR, prezident, vláda, krajská zastupitelstva a hejtmani.

The choice of beer among Czech consumers in 2014

In September 2014 CVVM SOÚ AV ČR replicated some of the questions about beer, which constitute a part of research project Pubs and Beer in Czech Society that is under way since 2004. This press release maps basic results of questions aimed at criteria for beer choice among Czech consumers and shows basic typology of consumers according to prevailing criterion of the choice. V září 2014 CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i., zopakovalo některé otázky s tematikou piva, které jsou součástí výzkumného projektu Pivo v české společnosti probíhajícího od roku 2004. Tato tisková zpráva uvádí základní výsledky otázek zaměřených na kritéria, podle nichž si čeští konzumenti vybírají pivo a představuje obecnější typologii konzumentů podle převařujícího kritéria výběru.

17 % of Czech citizens would agree with return to the communist way of government, 15 % would approve authoritarian regime of strong leader with no parliament and with no elections, while three quarters of public disagree. Only 3% of Czechs think that the country should be governed by military, 93% dismissed such an idea. Součástí říjnového šetření CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i. bylo i několik otázek, které se týkaly názorů respondentů na fungování demokracie v České republice a na alternativní varianty současného demokratického politického systému. Návrat komunistického způsobu vlády by uvítalo 17 % obyvatel ČR a nastolení autoritářského režimu v čele se silným vůdcem, který by nahradil parlament, by upřednostnilo 15 % českých občanů. Zcela zanedbatelný počet dotázaných (3 %) by souhlasil s nastolením vojenské diktatury.

In December survey CVVM investigated how people trust to political Parties and whether they are willing to take part in elections to Chamber of Deputies. In the press release there are two different types of information: Party preference and a model of voting behaviour. Party preferences give us information about public sympathy with political Parties in the group of citizens who have voting right and there is also included a part of citizens who will not take part in elections or they do not knot who to vote for. V šetření realizovaném v prosinci CVVM tradičně zjišťovalo podporu politických stran ve veřejnosti a ochotu zúčastnit se parlamentních voleb. V tiskové zprávě jsou publikovány dva odlišné typy informací: stranické preference a volební model. Stranické preference vypovídají o sympatiích k politickým stranám v souboru všech občanů s volebním oprávněním, tj. i těch, kteří k volbám nepůjdou nebo nevědí, koho by volili.

Are you very satisfied, rather satisfied, neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, rather dissatisfied, very dissatisfied?" V rámci říjnového šetření Centrum pro výzkum veřejného mínění Sociologického ústavu AV ČR, v.v.i., položilo všem respondentům otázku: „Jak jste celkově spokojen se svým životem? Jste velmi spokojen, spíše spokojen, ani spokojen, ani nespokojen, spíše nespokojen, velmi nespokojen?“
