Adaptace komponent a jejich kooperace na základě strojového učení

In the area of distributed self-adaptive smart systems (such as applications of Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems), machine learning has been successfully used in several applications including the prediction of metrics regarding the components in the system (e.g., battery consumption), and pruning of the space of possible adaptations. It is clear that machine learning can be a useful tool in self-adaptive systems. Most of the research works focus on using the machine learning algorithms for a specific task, yet they are (at least partially) lacking in providing a systematic approach to the introduction of machine learning into the architecture of the system. In this thesis, we propose ML-DEECo - a machine-learning-enabled component model for adaptive component architectures. It is based on the concepts of autonomous com- ponents and their ensembles (coalitions) from the DEECo component model. We enrich DEECo with abstractions for specifying machine-learning-based estimates directly in the architecture of the system. The architect can thus focus on the business logic of the application while all the tasks necessary to provide the estimates (such as collecting the data and training the model) are provided by our runtime framework. Strojové učení se úspěšně používá pro dílčí úlohy v oblasti distribuovaných adaptivních systémů (například internet věcí a tzv. cyber-physical systémy). Mezi nejčastější použití patří predikce budoucího stavu komponent systému (například kolik energie bude zbý- vat v baterii dané komponenty za určitý čas) a prořezávání prostoru možných adaptací systému. Většina dosavadního výzkumu se soustředila především na použití algoritmů strojového učení pro konkrétní úlohy, nicméně zatím nebylo věnováno příliš pozornosti systematickému zapojení strojového učení přímo do architektury systémů. V této práci představujeme ML-DEECo - komponentový model specificky navržený pro snadné použití strojového učení v adaptivní komponentové architektuře systému. ML-DEECo je založen na konceptech komponent a jejich kooperace z komponentového modelu DEECo a rozšiřuje DEECo o abstrakce pro specifikaci predikcí přímo v architek- tuře systému. Architekt softwarového systému se tak může soustředit pouze na logiku systému a vše potřebné pro získání predikcí (například trénink modelu pomocí algoritmů strojového učení) zajišťuje náš framework. Součástí práce je implementace ML-DEECo frameworku v Pythonu a ukázka jeho použití na příkladech adaptivních systémů z oblastí chytrého farmaření a Průmyslu 4.0.

Student provede analýzu různých aspektů spojených s dílem Zkrocení zlé ženy od Williama Shakespeara, týkajících se témat jako jsou například etické vztahy spojené s genderovým útlakem. Student poté zhlédne několik filmových adaptací Shakespearova textu, porovná a kontrastuje původní psanou hru s tradiční adaptací z roku 1967 a moderní, středoevropskou adaptací z roku 2022, přičemž se zaměří mimo jiné na to, jaké změny byly provedeny v textu, ve filozofických otázkách souvisejících s moderní dobou, a také řešením etických standardů genderu a manželství. Samozřejmě je třeba věnovat velkou pozornost i tomu, že tato hra je komedie, a to, co bylo v minulosti považováno za vtipné, už dnes vtipné být nemusí. The student will undertake an analysis of varied aspects linked with the play The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare regarding ethical relationships of gender oppression. Then the student will screen the multiple film adaptations of Shakespeare?s text, comparing and contrasting the original written play with the traditional (1967) and the modern, Central European (2022) adaptations, referring to, among other aspects, which changes were made to the text and philosophical issues pertaining to modern times addressing ethical gender and marriage standards. Of course, much attention is to be noted that this play is a comedy, and what was regarded as funny in the past and what is funny today has changed course.

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem a transformací hrdinů v díle Pán Prstenů J.R.R. Tolkiena. Práce nejprve nastiňuje život J.R.R. Tolkiena a inspiraci, která ho vedla k vytvoření jeho děl - epos, román, klasické a moderní pohádky. Také se zabývá typickými postavami těchto literárních žánrů a pojetím dobra a zla v díle Tolkiena. Praktická část představuje nejprve rasy, do kterých se vybrané postavy řadí a jejich stručnou historii. Zkoumanými postavami z daných ras jsou Aragorn, Frodo, Gimli, Legolas, Gandalf a Saruman. Na základě vybraných situací ze všech knih trilogie práce zkoumá hrdinské vlastnosti a morální vývoj těchto postav. This bachelor thesis deals with the development a transformation of heroes in J.R.R. Tolkien´s The Lord of the Rings. At the beginning the thesis describes the life of J.R.R Tolkien and his inspiration: the epic, novel, classical and modern fairy tales, which contributed to the creation of Tolkien´s fantasy stories. The thesis focuses on the typical characters of these genres and on the concept of good and evil. The practical part introduces the races of selected heroes and their brief history. The analysis observes the following characters: Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, Frodo, Gandalf, and Saruman. As all three books show, all characters have heroic moments that reflect their moral growth and explain why the characters are considered heroes.

Cílem práce je přiblížit literární kontext a okolnosti vzniku díla Mary Shelleyové. This bachelor's thesis works with Mary Shelley's Novel Frankenstein and deals with a literary analysis of elements in the Gothic Novel. The aim of this thesis is to present the literary context and circumstances concerning the creation of Mary Shelley's work. The thesis includes a brief characterisation of the beginning of the 19th century in English literature and defines the terms Gothic Novel and Romanticism. The core of the thesis is the analysis of the novel Frankenstein and an interpretation of horror elements of the Gothic Novel. The thesis also concentrates on the description of the surroundings and landscape, which sets the mysterious and ominous atmosphere of the story and eventually presents characteristics of Romanticism.

Předmětem zkoumání práce je román W. Goldinga Pán much, který vznikl v poválečných letech 20. století jako experimentální alegorické dílo odehrávající se ve fiktivní dystopické budoucnosti a je zároveň poměrně reálným obrazem možných událostí v uzavřeném lidském společenství. Práce v úvodu představí autora románu a jeho životní zkušenost, která měla vliv na celkovou podobu díla. Dále se pokusí zařadit dílo do kontextu britské poválečné prózy s ohledem na žánr dystopie a v interpretační analýze bude zkoumat prvky alegorie a literárního symbolismu, vývoj jednotlivých postav a proměnu konkrétních symbolů románu. Jádrem práce bude analýza hlavního tématu zla, temné stránky lidské povahy a selhání uzavřené komunity tvořené výhradně dětmi (chlapci). Práce se v závěru zamyslí nad možnými alternativami existence podobných společenství v izolovaném prostředí a nad případnými možnostmi pozitivního scénáře v dané situaci. The subject of this thesis is W. Golding's novel Lord of the Flies, which was written in the post-war years of the 20th century as an experimental allegorical work set in a fictional dystopian future and is at the same time a relatively realistic depiction of possible events in a closed human community. The thesis starts with an introduction of the author of the novel and his life experience that influenced the work. It will then attempt to place the work in the context of British post-war prose with regard to the genre of dystopia and, in an interpretive analysis, it will examine elements of allegory and literary symbolism, the development of individual characters, and the transformation of specific symbols in the novel. The core of the thesis will be an analysis of the main theme of evil, the dark side of human nature, and the failings of a closed community made up entirely of children (boys). The thesis will conclude by reflecting on possible alternatives to the existence of similar communities in an isolated environment and the possibilities of a positive scenario in the given situation.

Tato diplomová práce se bude zabývat mytologickými prvky v dílech Ricka Riordana a Danta Alighieriho, se zvláštním zřetelem na mytologickou tradici řeckého náboženství. V teoretické části bude podrobně představen výběr bohů, monster a hrdinů, jak jsou popisováni v klasické mytologii. Samostatná kapitola se bude věnovat životu a dílu Ricka Riordana a Danta Alighieriho. V praktické části budou analyzovány konkrétní příklady využití mytologie ve zkoumaných textech. Závěrečná kapitola bude zahrnovat komparativní analýzu mytologických setkání v dílech obou autorů. Mytologická setkání odkazují na postavy, se kterými se Percy Jackson a Poutník Dante setkají během svých cest. This thesis will examine mythological features in the works of Rick Riordan and Dante Alighieri, with particular reference to the mythological tradition of Greek religion. The theoretical part will present in detail a selection of gods, monsters, and heroes as they are described in classical mythology. A separate chapter will be devoted to the life and works of Rick Riordan and Dante Alighieri. The practical part will analyze specific mythological elements in their works. The final chapter will include a comparative analysis of mythological encounters in the works of both authors. The mythological encounters refer to the characters Percy Jackson and Dante the Pilgrim meet during their travels.

Magisterská práce se zabývá filmovou adaptací Nineteen Eighty-Four, která byla natočena na základě slavného románu George Orwella, a filmem "The Sleeper" parodií slavného románu. Teoretická východiska jako teorie filmových adaptací, dystopie, životů George Orwella a Woodyho Allena, autora filmu "The Sleeper", jsou popsány v této práci s vlastní interpretací parodie Allenova filmu v díle George Orwella. Tato magisterská práce poté analyzuje film "The Sleeper," a nabízí interpretaci jeho parodie. Analýza adaptace Nineteen Eighty-Four je také vytvořena z různých pohledů. The master´s thesis is concerned with the movie adaptation of Nineteen Eighty-Four, which is based on the novel by George Orwell, and the film "The Sleeper", a parody of the famous novel. The theoretical topics of the theory of movie adaptations, dystopia, the life of George Orwell and Woody Allen, screenplay of "The Sleeper", are described with my own interpretations of elements of Allen´s parody in Orwell´s work. The master´s thesis then analyses The Sleeper parody and offers an interpretation of its features. Analysis of Nineteen Eighty-Four is also done from various perspectives.

This thesis addresses the mechanism by which drought affects tropical plant-insect interactions via leaf traits, focusing on Ficus species. I discovered that both drought intensity and duration indirectly influenced the leaf palatability of Ficus through changes in leaf mechanical traits such as leaf water content and specific leaf area. Furthermore, my research revealed that drought increased leaf herbivory by altering leaf latex outflow, without affecting insect communities. Additionally, I observed that drought enhanced Ficus indirect defense through changes in herbivore-induced plant volatiles. My findings suggest that the impact of drought on Ficus-insect interactions may vary between greenhouse and tropical rainforest environments and may be species-specific. This work underscores the importance and urgency of researching tropical plant-insect interactions under climate change.
