Heavy metals and radionuclides are not chemically degradable and possibility of their removing by in situ methods is limited. In the last years are increasingly used plants not only for biomonitoring, but also for remediation. Tezke kovy a radionuklidy nelze chemicky degradovat a moznost jejich odstranení metodami in situ je tudiz znacne limitovana. V poslednich letech se stale více vyuzivaji rostliny a to nejen k biomonitoringu, ale i k remediaci.

Effect of 24-epibrassinolide and synthetic androstane analogue of castasterone, applied in four different molar concentrations, on photosynthetic and morphological parameters of young maize (Zea mays L.) plants was analysed in two inbreds and their F1 hybrid, subjected to 4 weeks of low temperature. Byl studován vliv čtyř koncentrací 24-epibrassinolidu a syntetického androstanového analogu castasteronu na fotosyntetické a morfologické charakteristiky mladých rostlin dvou inbredních linií kukuřice.

The influence of recultivation on the contaminated soil

Activities of soil and selected plant species were measured after collection of samples at the waste disposal of uranium ore mill. The collection was carried partly at the original disposal, partly at its recultivated part. The concentrations of selected radionuclides in the measured samples were determined and the measurement technique as well as evaluation procedure described. The main goal of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of previously made recultivation which should decrease the volume concentration of radon in air. Byly měřeny aktivity půdy a vybraných rostlin z úložiště odpadů po zpracování uranové rudy. Vzorky byly odebírány jednak v původní části, jednak v rekultivované oblasti. V práci jsou uvedené koncentrace vybraných radionuklidů a je popsaná měřící metoda. Hlavním cílem práce bylo ukázat účinek rekultivace, která může snížit koncentraci radonu v životním prostředí.

Artificial spawning of pikeperch females (Sander lucioperca) from pond culture was performed. Synthetic GnRH analogues preparation (Kobarelin, Lecirelin and Ovopel) an carp pituitaries were used for the induction of ovulation. Umělý výtěr candáta z rybničních chovů byl proveden z preparáty GnRH analogů (Kobarelin, Lecirelin and Ovopel). Kontrolní skupina dostala dehydratované kapří hypofýzy. Nejvíce účinný byl Lecirelin.

Resveratrol is a polyphenolic stilbenoid present in Vitis vinifera, as well as in wine, and is responsible for the "French paradox". It is assumed that its derivatives pterostilben and pinosylvin may display similar activities. Resveratrol je polyfenol (3,4',5-trihydroxystilben), který je obsažen v hroznech révy vinné a rovněž ve víně jako nápoji. Uvádí se, že úzce souvisí s tzv. francouzským paradoxem. Předpokládá se rovněž, že kromě resveratrolu jsou též účinné další látky, a to zejména pterostilben a pinosylvin.

Study investigates if genetically modified tobaccos have higher ability to accumulate and tolerate cadmium, and to compare their phytoextraction characteristics with other plant species. Pro efektivní fytoremediaci je zapotřebí rostlin nejen s vysokou schopností tolerance a akumulace kovů, ale také s vysokou produkcí biomasy. Jedním z přístupů, jak zvýšit účinnost rostlin při fytoremediaci, je vnesení hyperakumulačních schopností do rychle rostoucích rostlin prostřednictvím genového inženýrství.

Theory and qvantitative evaluation of substituent effects

Some classical problems of the theory of substituent effects were solved in terms of isodesmic reactions when they were based on the properties of isolated molecules instead of on the reactivities in solution. Inductive effect, resonance or steric effect of ortho-substituents were evaluated in this way. Některé klasické problémy teorie substitučních efektů byly rozřešeny pomocí isodesmických rovnic, když byly založeny na vlastnostech izolovaných molekul namísto na reaktivitě v roztoku. Tímto způsobem byl vyhodnocen induktivní efekt, resonance a sterický efekt ortho substituentů.
