Digital repository(ies) of the Charles University - Where are we now and where are we heading?

2017 - Czech This paper describes recent activities of the Central Library of Charles University (based in Prague, Czech Republic) in regards to providing access to digitized and digital-born content, in particular theses and habilitation theses as well as additional varieties of electronic content. The paper also describes the process behind the creation of the digital repository of Charles University, current tasks and plans for the future development of this service. We attempt to answer two “simple” questions: “Where are we now?” and “Where do we want to be in the future?” Tento příspěvek popisuje nedávné aktivity Ústřední knihovny Univerzity Karlovy týkající se spuštění nového Digitálního repozitáře UK. Univerzita Karlova v rámci tohoto repozitáře zpřístupňuje digitalizovaný i digital-born obsah svým uživatelům (studentům, vyučujícím i další zaměstnancům univerzity), aktuálně zejména kvalifikační a habilitační práce. Cílem tohoto příspěvku je seznámit odbornou veřejnost s procesem tvorby Digitálního repozitáře UK jako služby a také s procesem zpřístupňování kvalifikačních a habilitačních prací. V neposlední řadě je cílem tohoto příspěvku zodpovědět dvě základní otázky: „Kde jsme teď?” a „Kde chceme být?“. Orphan works and out-of-commerce works after the copyright act amendment

2017 - Czech The proposed contribution will focus on the changes brought by the last major amendment to the Czech Copyright Act (Act No. 102/2017 Coll.) for the GLAM sector. Specifi cally, it will focus on the issue of orphan works and out-of-commerce works. This contribution shall undertake a basic analysis of the new legal regulation, present its limits and its impact on the practice. Attention will be also paid to the forthcoming changes in this area in the legal acts of the European Union, in particular the proposal for a Directive on copyright in the digital single market. Navrhovaný příspěvek se zaměří na změny, které přinesla poslední velká novela autorského zákona (zákon č. 102/2017 Sb.) pro paměťové instituce. Specifi cky se pak zaměří na problematiku děl osiřelých a děl nedostupných na trhu. Příspěvek provede základní analýzu přijaté úpravy, představí její limity a dopady na knihovnickou praxi. Pozornost bude věnována i připravovaným změnám v této oblasti v právních aktech Evropské unie, zejména pak návrhu Směrnice o autorském právu na jednotném digitálním trhu. 2017 - Czech The paper presents the research project D4Humanities conducted by the GERIICO laboratory at the University of Lille in the fi eld of research data management (RDM). In particular, we will describe the development of a local workfl ow for the submission of research data related to PhD dissertations and the connection to the national RDM infrastructure Huma-Num (deposit, preservation and dissemination of research data via the NAKALA service), along with our RDM training program for PhD students. Příspěvek prezentuje výzkumný projekt D4Humanities vedený GERiiCO laboratoří na Univerzitě v Lille a zaměřený na management výzkumných dat (RDM). Popíše zejména vývoj zdejšího workfl ow pro odevzdávání výzkumných dat, které patří k doktorským dizertacím, napojení na národní infrastrukturu pro management výzkumných dat Huma-Num (ukládání, ochrana a zpřístupnění výzkumných dat prostřednictvím služby NAKALA) a také výukový program k managementu výzkumných dat pro studenty Ph.D. programu. Data deposit into the ASEP repository

2017 - Czech The ASEP repository has provided bibliographic records deposit for the results of scientifi c research at the Czech Academy of Sciences since 1993. In 2012, the database was expanded to include a repository in which full text documents are stored. Since 2017, ASEP also supports data records and data fi le storage. The bibliographic records of the results can be linked to metadata records so that the user gets not only the full text of a result, but also the data on which the result is based. Each dataset has its own description and metadata follows international standards. In the paper, we will introduce the repository workfl ow, describe dataset deposit and international standards used as well as different types of user interfaces. V databázi ASEP jsou uloženy bibliografi cké záznamy publikačních a aplikovaných výsledků vědeckého výzkumu pracovišť Akademie věd ČR od roku 1993. Databáze byla v roce 2012 rozšířena o repozitář, do kterého se ukládají plné texty dokumentů a od roku 2017 lze ukládat datové záznamy a datové soubory. Bibliografi cké záznamy výsledků lze propojit s metadatovými záznamy, uživatelé pak mají k dispozici nejen plný text výsledku, ale i data, na jejichž základě výsledek vznikl. Datový soubor má vlastní popis, metadata s využitím mezinárodních standardů. V příspěvku seznámíme posluchače s workfl ow repozitáře, popisem ukládaných datasetů a ukážeme různé typy uživatelských rozhraní.
