SMV-2023-38: Testing of surfaces for cryogenics

The ordering party required an analysis of the thermal-radiative characteristics of several different metallic materials, from which several special samples were designed and manufactured in cooperation with ISI Brno. These were tested in a special low-temperature apparatus. As part of the contract research, the relative rate of thermal radiation emission, the so-called total hemispheric emissivity, was determined at temperatures ranging from -268 °C up to room temperature. By comparing the results with each other, the client will be able to determine the optimal variant for the intended application, both in terms of the material itself as well as the applied surface finish. Zadavatel vyžadoval analýzu tepelně-radiačních charakteristik několika různých kovových materiálů, ze kterých byly nejprve ve spolupráci s ÚPT navrženy a vyrobeny speciální vzorky. Ty byly poté testovány ve speciální nízkoteplotní aparatuře. V rámci smluvního výzkumu pak došlo ke stanovení míry sálání tepelného záření, tzv. totální hemisférické emisivity, při teplotách od -268 °C až k pokojové teplotě. Vzájemným porovnáním výsledků může zadavatel určit optimální variantu pro zamýšlenou aplikaci, a to jak z hlediska samotného materiálu, tak i vzhledem k aplikované povrchové úpravě.

This technical report has been prepared for the State Office for Nuclear Safety within the framework of the contract 772201-Expert support to SÚJB in the field of strength and durability assessment of machine components. The report was prepared as an opinion to the technical report UJV DITI 2301/1350: 6729 - Utilisation of EDU II design reserves - 6.3 - Vibration analysis of the PIPELINE nV and 6.03 Assessment of the effect of increased media flow rate on the vibration of steam pipelines and pipeline embedment prepared by the staff of the Strength and Durability Assessment Department of UJV Rez, a. The purpose of the report [T574/23] was to provide the SAJB with its own expert opinion / independent opinion on the statements of the authors of the ÚJV Řež report. In accordance with the requirement of the SNCB, the emphasis in the preparation of the report was placed on the dynamic aspects of the issue. The assessor took a favourable opinion on the submitted UJV report with a few minor comments, mostly of a formal nature.\n\n Tato technická zpráva byla vypracována pro Státní úřad pro jadernou bezpečnost v rámci zakázky 772201-Expertní podpora SÚJB v oblasti hodnocení pevnosti a životnosti strojních komponent. Zpráva byla vypracována jako posudek k technické zprávě ÚJV DITI 2301/1350: 6729 - Využití projektových rezerv EDU II - 6.3 - analýzy vibrací POTRUBÍ nV a 6.03 Posouzení vlivu zvýšení průtoku média na vibrace parovodů a uložení potrubí vypracované pracovníky oddělení Hodnocení pevnosti a životnosti ÚJV Řež, a. s. a pracovníky Ústavu aplikované mechaniky Brno, s.r.o.. Účelem zprávy [T574/23] bylo podat SÚJB vlastní odborné stanovisko / nezávislé vyjádření k výrokům autorů zprávy ÚJV Řež. V souladu s požadavkem SÚJB byl při zpracování posudku kladen důraz zejména na dynamické aspekty dané problematiky. Posuzovatel zaujal k předložené zprávě ÚJV souhlasné stanovisko s několika drobnými připomínkami vesměs formální povahy.

Study of the dispersion of hazardous gas in an underground room.

This study investigated airflow and pollutant dispersion in an underground room using two different ventilation methods: natural and forced ventilation. The experiment was conducted on a scale model of the room in a wind tunnel using physical modelling. The main objectives were to understand the airflow behaviour and dispersion of passive pollutants in a real environment under isothermal conditions. Tato studie zkoumala proudění vzduchu a šíření polutantů v podzemní místnosti s využitím dvou různých metod ventilace: přirozeného a nuceného větrání. Experiment byl prováděn na zmenšeném modelu místnosti v aerodynamickém tunelu pomocí fyzikálního modelování. Základními cíli bylo porozumět chování proudění vzduchu a rozptylu pasivních polutantů v reálném prostředí za izotermních podmínek.

This is the final report of the project Pilot-scale verification of mercury removal from flue gas by electrochemical methods TK04020330 summarizing the course of activities for the last year of the project and the results achieved during the project. The content of the report is a description of the commissioning and operation of the pilot unit designed and constructed during the project. The results of laboratory experiments, pilot-scale verification of the technology, and testing of mercury oxidation in flue gas. The conclusions drawn from the experimental results are included in the report. Jedná se o závěrečnou zprávu projektu Poloprovozní ověření odstraňování rtuti ze spalin pomocí elektrochemických metod TK04020330 shrnující průběh činností za poslední rok projektu a výsledky dosažené v průběhu projektu. Obsahem zprávy je popis zprovozňování a chodu pilotní jednotky navržené a zkonstruované v průběhu projektu. Dále jsou uvedeny výsledky laboratorních experimentů, poloprovozního ověřování technologie a provozního testování oxidace rtuti ve spalinách. Součástí zprávy jsou i závěry, ke kterým výsledky experimentů vedou.\n

The research report summarises three years of research of opportunities and limits of participatory housing in the Czech Republic, based on an analysis of the situation abroad, the historical context and the institutional background in the Czech Republic. In the second part we present the results of field research - data analysis from research workshops in partner cities and from an exploratory questionnaire. We present findings on residents' preferences on participation issues, confidence in implementing participatory housing projects, funding issues, governance, barriers or challenges. In the final section, we summarise the opportunities and limitations for participatory housing arising from the cooperation between residents and cities. Výzkumná zpráva přináší shrnutí tříletého výzkumu o možnostech a limitech participativního bydlení v ČR. V první části představujeme konceptualizaci participativního bydlení vycházejí z analýzy zahraniční situace, historického kontextu a institucionálního zázemí v Česku. V druhé části přinášíme výsledky terénního výzkumu – analýzy dat z výzkumných workshopů v partnerských městech a také z explorativního dotazníku. Přinášíme zjištění ohledně preferencí obyvatel v otázkách participace, důvěry v realizaci projektů participativního bydlení, otázek financování, správy, překážek či výzev. V závěrečné části shrnujeme, jaké možnosti a limity participativního bydlení vyplývají ze spolupráce obyvatel s městy.

The report describes the execution procedure and the results of the dynamic loading test of the pedestrian bridge in Prague Radotín after the installation of vibration absorbers. The vibration level of the bridge deck from pedestrians and runners is compared with the results of a previous dynamic test before the installation of vibration absorbers and is assessed with regard to their comfort and health. Zpráva popisuje postup provedení a výsledky dynamické zatěžovací zkoušky lávky pro pěší v Praze Radotíně po instalaci pohlcovačů kmitů. Úroveň vibrací mostovky lávky od přechodů chodců a běžců je srovnána s výsledky předchozí dynamické zkoušky před instalací pohlcovačů kmitů a je posouzena s ohledem na jejich pohodlí a zdraví.

Final report on the use of membrane separation of salts containing sulphates and chlorides of typical metals from industrial waters

The aim of the collaboration was to verify the possible use of membrane processes for the recovery of metals or their hydroxides, preferably in separated form. As a basic membrane method we will consider electrodialysis/electrocoagulation. The processes will be validated on three typical types of industrial wastewater. The first type is leachate, the second is industrial water from surface treatment technology and the third is process water from hydrometallurgical waste treatment. The aim is not to design a technology for the final treatment of industrial wastewater. Cílem spolupráce bylo ověřit možné využití membránových procesů pro získávání kovů nebo jejich hydroxidů a to nejlépe v separované formě. Jako základní membránovou metodu budeme uvažovat elektrodialýzu/elektrokoagulaci. Procesy budou ověřeny na třech typických druhů promyslových odpadních vod. Prvním druhem jsou průsakové vody, druhým pak průmyslové vody z technologie povrchových úprav a třetím pak jsou vody technologické z hydrometalur-gického zpracování odpadů. Cílem není návrh technologie na finální úpravu průmyslových odpadních vod.

As part of the construction-technical survey, historical brick samples were characterized using thermal analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM/EDS), ion chromatography (IC), infrared spectrometry (FTIR) and physical tests. The results of the tests testify to the good production quality of the masonry elements used. Based on the analyzes carried out, it can be assumed that the observed damage to the bricks is caused by high wetting of the masonry in combination with frost cycles, as well as crystallization cycles of water-soluble salts present in the surface layer of some bricks. V rámci stavebně-technického průzkumu byl provedena charakterizace vzorků historických cihel s využitím termické analýzy (TGA), skenovacího elektronového mikroskopu (SEM/EDS), iontové chromatografie (IC), infračervené spektrometrie (FTIR) a fyzikálních zkoušek. Výsledky zkoušek cihel z objektu Konírna zámku Zákupy svědčí o dobré výrobní kvalitě použitých zdících prvků. Na základě provedených analýz lze předpokládat, že na pozorovaném poškození cihel se podílí vysoké zavlhčení zdiva v kombinaci s mrazovými cykly, a také krystalizační cykly vodorozpustných solí přítomných v povrchové vrstvě některých cihel.

Investigation of the effect of moist and dry hydrogen pressurized to 3 MPa on mechanical and fracture properties of gas pipeline steel ČSN 13126, tensile specimens, Charpy specimens and CT specimens were kept loaded during the exposition in moist hydrogen, after a 21th months exposition it was found that ductility of tensile specimens and fracture parameters Jin and J0,2 of CT specimens decreased whilst the parameter Jm was slightly increased. Vyšetření vlivu vlhkého a suchého vodíku stlačeného na tlak 3 MPa na mechanické a lomové vlastnosti plynovodní oceli ČSN 13126, tahové vzorky, Charpy vzorky i CT vzorky byly během expozice ve vlhkém vodíku trvale zatíženy, po 21 měsících expozice byl zjištěn pokles tažnosti tahových vzorků, pokles lomových parametrů Jin a J0,2 a mírné zvýšení parametru Jm.
