Temperature regime of forest soils

Contribution deals with the monitoring of the temperature regime of forest soils and the soil heat flux at small mountainous basins Liz in the Šumava Mts. and Uhlířská in the Jizera Mts. Soil temperatures are measured with the help of soil moisture meters (Pt100 at Liz basin and CS107 at Uhlířská basin), the soil heat flux is measured with the use of the sensor Hukseflux HFP01. Measured results were statistically evaluated, the analysis of the consistence of the measurement was done and cumulative soil heat fluxes were calculated for the individual hydrological years. S postupující automatizací, digitalizací a lepší dostupností pokročilých meteorologických a hydrologických přístrojů pro kontinuální sledování malých povodí jsou metody a postupy vycházející z bilance energie stále častěji vyhodnocovány v subdenním časovém kroku. V těchto případech již není možné dostupnou energii ztotožnit s čistou radiací a zanedbat tok tepla do půdy. Nevhodně zavedené předpoklady o velikosti toku tepla do půdy nebo použití příliš zjednodušených výpočetních postupů k jeho určení, vnášejí do zdánlivě přesnějších, ale ve skutečnosti pouze v čase podrobnějších, výpočtů značné nejistoty. Monitoring teplotního režimu půd a toků tepla do půdy, tak má velký význam pro ověření používaných výpočetních postupů a lepší pochopení omezení plynoucích z dlouhodobě využívaných předpokladů.

The Missions and the Benedictine Beginnings of the Bishopric of Prague

In the context of the 1050th anniversary of the founding of the Prague bishopric, the study focuses on the topic of the first Czech diocese and places it in the Central European context of the Carolingian and Ottonian empires, related ecclesiastical institutions and Christianization processes. In the form of a probe, it traces the importance of the mission for the establishment of the Prague bishopric. In this context, it discusses issues related to sacred architecture, liturgical equipment and written culture inseparably linked to the new Christian education and church administration. Studie se věnuje v souvislosti s výročím 1050 let od založení pražského biskupství tématu první české diecéze a zasazuje ji do středoevropských souvislostí karolínské a otonské říše, souvisejících církevních institucí a christianizačních procesů. Formou sondy sleduje význam misie pro vznik pražského biskupství. V této souvislosti pojednává otázky spojené se sakrální architekturou, liturgickou výbavu a písemnou kulturo neoddělitelně spjatou s novou křesťanskou vzdělaností i s církevní správou.

Tombstones of the Švamberks of the 15th – early 17th Century from an Art Historical Perspective

Only a fragment has remained from the original collection of the Švamberk family tombstones that was still quite large at the beginning of the 18th century. Surprisingly,\neven though the Švamberks were a prominent noble family, the surviving works usually show average or below-average quality which, as far as the 15th century works are concerned, reflect the prevailing condition of sepulchral sculpture in Bohemia of the time. More factors could have been behind opting for an austere form of the tombstone. In addition to the Utraquist criticism of majestic funeral works and the lack of high-quality stonemasons after the Hussite Wars, it could be the general idea of resistance to pride and accentuation of the confirmation of Christian modesty regardless of the buried person’s confession.\n Z celkového, na počátku 18. století ještě bohatého konvolutu náhrobků rodu Švamberků se dodnes dochovalo pouhé torzo. Překvapivý je fakt, že ačkoliv šlo o významný šlechtický rod, dochované práce jsou většinou průměrné nebo podprůměrné kvality, které, zejména pokud jde o díla z 15. století, odrážejí převažující stav sepulkrální skulptury oné doby. Při zvolení prosté formy náhrobku mohlo hrát roli více faktorů. Kromě utrakvistické kritiky majestátních funerálních děl i nedostatku kvalitních kameníků po husitských válkách to mohla být obecně i myšlenka vzdorování pýše a důraz na osvědčení křesťanské skromnosti bez ohledu na konfesi pohřbeného.

Kosher in lexicography. Problems of one religion term

The Hebrew term košer (‘kosher’) came into Czech through Jewish sociolect / ethnolect. It was originally a religious term for what is ritually pure and appropriate. In addition to the adjective and adverb košer, Czech dictionaries also contain a number of other forms and derivatives, but some of them are no longer used at the moment (e.g. košerný, košerně). Our evaluation is based on an analysis of material base from the Syn2015 Corpus and from a probe into contemporary texts in Jewish magazines or on the websites of Jewish communities and organizations. In Czech dictionaries, we may see a reduction of the meaning compared to how the term is traditionally used in the Jewish community, e.g. the adjective košer is limited to meat, the verb košerovat is associated only with the ritual slaughter. The nouns mentioned in the dictionaries are also very debatable: masculine košer in the sense of ‘butcher’ and masculine košer with the meanings of ‘cut’ and ‘food appropriate for Jews to eat’, these are based on isolated documents from the works of authors apparently unfamiliar with the Jewish community. The question then is whether (and according to what criteria) such words should be included in the dictionaries. Hebrejský výraz košer se dostal do češtiny prostřednictvím židovského sociolektu/etnolektu. Jedná se původně o náboženský termín označující to, co je rituálně čisté a vhodné. Vedle nesklonného adjektiva a adverbia košer je ve slovnících češtiny zachycena i řada dalších tvarů a odvozenin, některé z nich se však již v současnosti neužívají (např. košerný, košerně). Při jejich hodnocení vycházíme z analýzy dokladů z korpusu Syn2015 i ze sondy do soudobých textů v židovských časopisech nebo na webech židovských obcí a spolků. Ve slovnících češtiny se též v některých případech můžeme setkat se zúžením významu oproti tomu, jak je výraz tradičně užíván v židovském prostředí, např. adjektivum košer je v SSJČ omezeno pouze na oblast masa, sloveso košerovat je spojováno jen s rituální porážkou zvířat. Velmi diskutabilní jsou také substantiva uváděná ve slovnících: životné maskulinum košer ve významu ‚řezník‘ a neživotná maskulina košer s významy ‚zaříznutí‘ a ‚pokrm židům k požívání dovolený‘, ty vycházejí z ojedinělých dokladů z děl autorů zřejmě neznalých židovského prostředí, o němž (přesto) psali. Je potom otázkou, zda (a dle jakých kritérií) by taková hesla měla být do slovníků zařazena.

Evaluation of sample geometry effect on creep deformation progress using acoustic emission method

This work deals with the determination of the influence of the sample geometry on the development of failure during creep exposure. Creep tests were carried out at temperature of 600 °C and a stress of 180 MPa in the protective atmosphere of argon. P92 steel samples with a conventional smooth surface and samples with a V-groove notch were chosen for the test tests. The results of creep resistance and fracture behaviour were complemented by detailed microstructural characterization to assess damage initiation and development. Based on the measured results, the creep data was evaluated using neural networks that systematically search for and process the signal from the acoustic emission (AE). Acoustic emission serves here as an effective non-destructive method for early prediction of the beginning of a possible accident of components of power and chemical plants. Tato práce se zabývá stanovením vlivu geometrie tělesa na vývoj porušení v průběhu creepové expozice. Creepové testy byly provedeny při teplotě 600 °C a napětí 180 MPa v režimu ochranné atmosféry argonu. Pro zkušební testy byl zvoleny vzorky z oceli P92 s konvekčním hladkým povrchem a vzorky opatřené V-vrubem. Výsledky creepové odolnosti a lomového chování byly doplněny podrobnou mikrostrukturní charakterizací k posouzení iniciace a vývoje creepového poškození. Na základě naměřených výsledků byla creepová data vyhodnocena pomocí neuronových sítí, které systematicky vyhledávají a zpracovávají signál z akustické emise (AE). Akustická emise byla použita jako účinná nedestruktivní metoda pro včasnou predikci počátku možné havárie komponent energetických a chemických zařízení.

Common Nouns denoting a Larch Tree in Non-Settlement Place Names in Bohemia

The paper deals with the use of the common noun modřín (larch) and its dialectal variants in non-settlement place names in Bohemia. The focus of the research is to find out which dialectal words denoting a larch tree are included in the names, and to state their number, geographical occurrence and other characteristic features. Attention is paid not only to the common nouns which are used in non-settlement names frequently (verpán, merfán, modřín, břím, dřín), but also to the dialectal words which appear in names rather scarcely (lerpán, relpán, tis, klenč, skřivánčí). Příspěvek se zabývá apelativem modřín a jeho nářečními variantami v pomístních jménech v Čechách. Cílem výzkumu je zjistit, které nářeční varianty označující modřín se v anoikonymii Čech vyskytují, a určit jejich početní zastoupení, zeměpisné rozšíření a další charakteristiky. Analyzována jsou nejen anoikonyma vycházející z apelativ, která jsou v pomístních jménech na území Čech zastoupena ve větším množství (verpán, merfán, modřín, břím, dřín), ale pozornost je věnována i nářečním výrazům, které se v anoikonymii vyskytují spíše sporadicky (lerpán, relpán, tis, klenč, skřivánčí).

After comparing the bishops’ seats in Prague and Olomouc, we have concluded that despite seeming very different at first glance, both are archaeologically quite similar. Both are structured hills close to a river with suitable space for agriculture and with evidence of manufacturing sites. In their overall structure, there is a clear elevated settlement with a cult site, in both cases linked to a necropolis. In Prague, settlement and manufacturing activities centre on the western part of the Hradčany promontory, in Olomouc on the Petrské and Václavské hills. Po srovnání biskupských sídel v Praze a Olomouci jsme došli k závěru, že přestože se na první pohled zdají velmi odlišná, jsou obě archeologicky dosti podobná. Oba jsou členěné kopce v blízkosti řeky s vhodným prostorem pro zemědělství a s doklady výrobních areálů. V jejich celkové struktuře je zřetelné vyvýšené sídliště s kultovním místem, v obou případech vázané na nekropole. V Praze se sídelní a výrobní činnost soustřeďuje na západní části Hradčanského výběžku, v Olomouci na Petrský a Václavský vrch.

The sister of Prince Boleslav II Princess Mlada is among the persons associated with the beginning of the Prague bishopric. As the founder of the monastery of St. George was worshiped in it. The place of her burial was forgotten and searched for since the Baroque period. In this context, attention is paid to the graves JK-102 and JK-110 in the chapel of St. Anne in the monastery and also to the relics taken from this chapel in the 17th century. Grave JK-110 was newly dated to around the year 1000. Mezi osobami spojenými s počátkem pražského biskupství je také sestra knížete Boleslava II. kněžna Mlada. Jako zakladatelka kláštera sv. Jiří v něm byla uctívána. Místo jejího pohřbu bylo zapomenuto a bylo hledáno od doby barokní. V této souvislosti je věnována pozornost hrobům JK-102 a JK-110 v kapli sv. Anny v klášteře a také ostatkům vyzvednutým v této kapli v 17. století. Hrob JK-110 byl nově datován do doby kolem roku 1000.

Design of a modular miniaturized apparatus for ion trapping

We are developing a new experimental apparatus for laser cooling of trapped ions, focusing on high electric field homogeneity, modularity and small size. The apparatus allows measurements with Coulomb crystals and easy modification for different experiments. The high homogeneity trap is created by electrospinning, while the modularity allows for the exchange of key parts. By miniaturizing the dimensions, we achieve a larger numerical aperture of the lens and a reduction in the size of the magnetic shielding. This portable apparatus offers new possibilities for ion studies and is promising for applications in satellite systems and reconnaissance satellites. Rozvíjíme novou experimentální aparaturu pro laserové chlazení zachycených iontů, zaměřenou na vysokou homogenitu elektrického pole, modularitu a malé rozměry. Aparatura umožňuje měření s Coulombovskými krystaly a snadnou modifikaci pro různé experimenty. Past s vysokou homogenitou je vytvořena elektroerozivním obráběním, zatímco modularita umožňuje výměnu klíčových částí. Díky miniaturizaci rozměrů dosahujeme větší numerické apertury objektivů a snížení rozměrů magnetického stínění. Tato přenosná aparatura nabízí nové možnosti pro studium iontů a je perspektivní pro aplikace v družicových systémech a průzkumných satelitech.
