Fish stock survey of Lake Piburg in 2023

The report was prepared based on the results of complex survey of the fish stock of Lake Piburg in 2023. The aim of the ichthyological survey was to map the state of the fish populations in Lake Piburg, especially with an emphasis on estimating the abundance and biomass of individual fish species and recommending further management of the fish stock. A summary of the achieved results and a proposal for improvement of water quality via management of fish populations are included in the report. Zpráva byla zpracována na základě výsledků komplexního průzkumu rybí obsádky jezera Piburg v roce 2023. Cílem ichtyologického průzkumu bylo zmapovat stav rybích populací v jezeře Piburg, zejména s důrazem na odhad početnosti a biomasy jednotlivých druhů ryb a doporučení dalšího hospodaření s rybí obsádkou. Noninvasive spot analysis of miniatures with portable and laboratory instruments: a methodology for specific use in miniature painting research

The methodology brings a comprehensive procedure of non-invasive materials analysis of painted miniature artworks, while it is divided into two subsequent parts. In the first part, it describes the use of portable devices for spectroscopic analysis of miniatures, and in the second, it deals with the application of a new methodological procedure for phase/structural materials analysis based on X-ray powder diffraction. The methodology thus includes the following procedures: (i) determination of the elemental composition of the colour layer by the x-ray fluorescence analysis, (ii) identification of binders and other organic compounds using infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and finally (iii) phase/mineralogical and structural analysis to describe in more detail the pigments used and processes of their degradation. As part of this last step, the limits of Raman spectroscopy (RS) and the advantages of powder X-ray diffraction and micro-diffraction (XRPD and micro-XRPD) are described, which include greater gentleness to the analysed objects. A very complete and above all non-invasive methodological procedure for the analysis of miniatures is thus offered, which uses the complementarity of individual methods and which can be partly applied already in situ (directly in collection institutions) and partly at specialized workplaces. Metodika přináší ucelený postup neinvazivní materiálové analýzy malovaných miniaturních děl, přičemž je rozdělená na dvě navazující části. V první části popisuje využití přenosných přístrojů pro spektroskopickou analýzu miniatur, a v druhém se zabývá aplikací nového metodického postupu pro fázovou/strukturní materiálovou analýzu založeného na rtg. práškové difrakci. Metodika tedy zahrnuje následující postupy: (i) zjištění prvkového složení barevné vrstvy metodou rtg. fluorescenční analýzy, (ii) identifikaci pojiv a dalších organických složek pomocí infračervené spektroskopie (FT-IR), a nakonec (iii) analýzu fázovou/mineralogickou a strukturní k podrobnějšímu popisu použitých pigmentů a procesů jejich degradace. V rámci tohoto posledního kroku jsou popsány limity Ramanovy spektroskopie (RS) a výhody práškové difrakce a mikrodifrakce (XRPD a mikro-XRPD), k nimž patří i vyšší šetrnost k analyzovaným dílům. Je tak nabízen velmi souborný a především neinvazivní metodický postup analýzy miniatur, který využívá komplementaritu jednotlivých metod a který lze zčásti aplikovat již in situ (přímo ve sbírkových institucích) a zčásti na specializovaných pracovištích.
